Chapter Text
Child of the Storm.
Nora Valkyrie was a child of the storm, whatever that meant. Her mother before she vanished one day told her that she would never be harmed by the forces of nature it would help her find what she seeks. At the moment she is seeking shelter in town from this latest storm because while it does not harm her she still feels the chill in the air as they begin to approach the winter season. Eventually she finds an overhang that she get some semblance of shelter from this storm, it's not much but it's the best she's going to get at the moment. As she waits for the storm to eventually peter out she sees a curious site especially for such a young child. It's a fox and it's so huge especially compared to Nora, she can also see that the fox has patchy and damaged umbrellas sticking out of it's body. That can't feel very nice.
The fox seems to be meandering through the town idly exploring the alley it and Nora are both in. It comes across Nora taking shelter from the storm and it looks down on her. Nora just smiles at the sight of the enormous fox. The fox have off an air of curiosity and concern at seeing a child as young as Nora out while the weather was so poor. Nora wasn't sure how she knew that but shrugged it off being a child and all.
“Uh Hi there.” The fox chuffs in a manner Nora can't make out at her young age. “Are you looking for a place to stay as well?” The fox just gave a slight nod at the question seeing someone in a similar situation as it was. “Are you like me?” She received another nod and Nora began to feel kinship with the giant fox. The fox gave her a gentle headbutt make Nora giggle at the sensation of it's fur rubbing against her skin. Wow it tickles. She thought in glee.
The fox after giving Nora the headbutt of love began to lower its head down to roughly where her hand was asking for her to pet it. “Do you want me to pet you?” Nora asked wanting to be sure she got it right. She was always such a kind child. The fox gave a slight nod so she did what was asked of her and pet the fox on the head. As she petted the fox it slowly but surely began to shrink down into a statue Nora could easily hold in her hands. She wasn't sure what to make of what but knew one thing for sure and that was that this statue was something she should hold on to for the foreseeable future. Whenever someone asked her about the little fox statue she would just give a slight smile and say. “It was a gift from a friend.” Ending the line of questioning then and there.
