Summary
Jisung runs away. Everyone else finds him.
When Jisung crosses the finish line, he doesn’t stop running. Instead, he blows past Chan and his coach, ignoring their shouts as he runs off the track. His eyes burn, god, he wishes they would stop.
A failure. He’s a failure. Best runner on the team, he thinks bitterly. Can’t even run on a fucking track. He wants to prove he’s good at running, to show himself he can do it.
He’s forced to the ground two miles later, gasping for air as he slams into the dirt and grass. Everything hurts, his muscles are protesting, groaning under the weight of such a long sprint. All he can do is lay on his back, staring up at the sky while he wills his lungs to take in a full breath.
