“Sano’s hair is getting so long!”
The boy in question’s hair was getting petted by his three closest friends, much to his annoyance. He waved Hijita and Beniko’s hands away, groaning in frustration. He patted Mame’s head and made a small hum.
“Just wanted to try something out. I like the way it looks.” He nuzzled his cheek against Mame’s. “How do you like it, Mame?”
The tanuki tittered and rubbed against Sano’s face. “I like it!”
Sano chuckled, “Do I look pretty?”
“Super pretty!”
Sano smiled softly. Being pretty… he snuggled into Mame, humming softly. Beniko and Hijita, however, exchanged looks as they watched the scene unfold before them before Hijita knelt by the desk.
“So… what’s with the sudden growth?”
Sano narrowed his eyes at him. “What do you mean? You have hair of a similar length, yeah? Why’s mine a cause for questions?”
Hijita sputtered and was prepared to give an answer, but his head was bashed in by Beniko’s textbook. He melted into a puddle on the floor while she dusted her hands.
“Ignore him. I think it looks nice.” She gently played with his hair, making Sano blush softly at the action.
“Do you really think it looks nice?” He hummed and played with his hair slightly before smiling. “I kinda like it like this.”
“Yeah, it looks pretty.” She held his face. “You wanted to be called ‘pretty’, right? Well, I think it makes you look very pretty.” She pinched his cheek. “You kinda look like a girl with your hair this long.”
He nodded slowly and leaned into her touch. Looked like a girl, huh? He pulled out his phone and looked at the front-facing camera to observe himself and smiled softly. He did look like a girl. If his hair grew out a little longer, and maybe if he—
“Huh… I’d make a really cute girl.” He smiled softly to himself.
Each of his friends exchanged various looks before going to their own seats. The class went on, surprisingly no weird things from their incredibly strange teacher. After class, Sano followed after Haruaki, much to the shock of his friends. Mame was about to follow after Sano, but Beniko held him back.
“Man, I’m surprised how well everything went today!” Haruaki set his papers down, smiling happily as his two friends.
Miki spun a pen between his fingers. “Yes, t’was a rather uneventful day. …I do not mind it.” He smiled softly. “Would you two like to go out later? Split three ways of course.”
Hatanaka rolled his eyes. “Y’know, usually whoever asks the others out pays for everything, but whatever. I’m down.”
“Same here! I just need to finish up a few things here and th–”
“Yo, Seimei.”
They all jumped, and turned sharply to see Sano there. He brushed his hair out of his face and walks over to him, grabbing his tie. He gave a few slight tugs before pulling down hard.
“Hey, you know where The Principal is?”
“Ack-! Ughh… uh… no? I would guess he’s in his office.” Haruaki huffed, trying to pull away from Sano, but his grip was too strong for him to be able to. He sighed and let himself get held by his student.
“Alright… then I want your help with something.” He looked over at Miki and Hatanaka. “...Alone.”
He dragged him away, Haruaki quietly protesting before waving at his friends, as they snickered at his fate. When they were in the hallway and a bit away from anyone else, Sano looked around before looking Haruaki in the eye.
“Seimei.”
“Y-Yeah…?”
Sano took in a deep breath before looking at the ground.
“I want… I want your help…” His voice dropped into a mutter, “finding a sailor uniform that fits me.”
Haruaki stared at him before blinking a few times. He looked around, making sure no one was around before leaning down to him.
“Did… I hear you correctly? Do you want a sai–”
“Don’t say it so loud, idiot!” He punched him in the face and huffed. “But… yeah! I want you to try and find something that fits me!”
Haruaki nodded slowly, before holding his jaw. “Well… I know where some spare sailor uniforms are, if you want to go and see them.”
Sano crossed his arms and huffed. “...Fine.”
They travelled to a supply room, where there many boxes filled with uniforms. Sano looked through the boys uniform before scrunching his nose and dropping them back into the box. He turned to Haruaki, who was sifting through sailor uniforms.
“Hm… might be able to find…”
“Seimei, what would you say if I said I think I’m a girl?”
Haruaki stopped his search and looked over at Sano. …Sano wasn’t looking at him and was simply staring that the ground. Haruaki watched for a moment before walking over to Sano, and patted his shoulder.
“E-Eh–?”
“I wouldn’t say much.” He beamed down at Sano. “I’d simply say, ‘I’m glad you found yourself! It’s way easier to do stuff when you’re yourself!’”
Sano stared at him, h… her eyes widening. She looked away from him, blushing softly.
“Just find that stupid uniform, dumbass.”
“Of course, Sano!” Haruaki saluted her and went back over to the box.
He eventually found on and held it up triumphantly and passed it off to his student, who stared at it in her arms. She blushed softly and smiled down at it, before smiling up at Haruaki. When she realized what she was doing, she turned away and was about to quickly walk out, but her wrist was grabbed.
“What the hell do–”
“In case you’re worried… I don’t think anyone else would judge you negatively for it. At least… I can imagine that list would be very small. Yeah?”
“...You’re such an idiot. Naive, too. But… thanks.”
Haruaki gave her a smile and she frowned before leaving the room. She decided to make her way to the dorms, yawning as she walked.
“Suuup, dude!”
However, what she didn’t account for was her friends waiting outside the school for her. She stumbled when she felt Hijita jump on her back and glared at him when he smiled down at her.
“Whatcha got here– woah!”
Sano swung at him and punched a hole in his chest, glaring harder at him.
“None of your business!”
“Yeah, Sano-kun doesn’t have to say anything about why he’s growing his hair or what he’s holding!”
Sano winced slightly and huffed quietly. Beniko noticed and cocked her eyebrow.
“Something up?”
“…No. It’s fine.”
Sano continued walking, with her friends watching her. Mame scurried after Sano and jumped on her back.
“Hey… are you sure you’re okay?”
“…Mame, would you still want to be my friend if I was a girl?” Sano hesitated before looking at him.
Mame watched her before smiling wide and hugged her neck.
“Sano’s always Sano! No matter what you become, you’ll always be my best friend!”
Sano softly smiled at her best friend. “…Then I think you know what I’ll say. …It’s what's in here. I asked Seimei to get me a girl’s uniform. So, I got it in here.”
“Wowww… That’s cool! Oh, is that why you were growing out your hair?”
“Yeah… so… would you say I’m a pretty girl, Mame?” She batted her eyes.
Mame giggled. “Sano’s the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen! She’ll have all the boys dropping dead! And that’s good too, cause then they won’t flirt with her!”
“I’m sure you’d like that, Mame…” She petted hus fur ahd hummed.
