Jumper & Minute catch up while shopping together!
Zam and Derap go shopping as well, albeit not as much happened when they were shopping

Little author's more here, most of this chapter won't be in chatfic form! ^_^

Jumper had arrived at the boutique a little earlier than Minute so she scrolled on her phone while she waited. It wasn't until she heard a familiar voice that she turned around "Jumper!" Minute said, a smile on his face and Jumper couldn't help but smile aswell. "Hey Minute!" Jumper said as he walked over to her. "How have you been?" He asked as the two of them walked into the boutique. "Honestly, cheer has been stressful but I've been fine!" Jumper explained with a shrug.

The two spent a while talking while looking at different dresses and suits, and it's when Jumper realised she enjoyed spending time with Minute. they hadn't been able to talk one-on-one in ages so it was nice to finally talk. "Yoo, check this out!" Minute called out as he took up a dress off of the hanger, it was a floor length pink gown with some black accents. To say Jumper loved it was an understatement. She adored the dress, despite the price Jumper bought it.

They spent the next hour or so looking for a suit for Minute, it wasn't that he didn't like any, there were just no black suits with pink, which Jumper was saying wasn't a problem and he could just get an accessory and after another 30 minutes he finally caved, a black suit and a pink tie. After shopping they were both hungry so they stopped at a nearby cafe. "Its been so long since we've talked like this. I'm glad we could do this." Jumper said as she took a sip of her drink. "Same. Alsooo, I heard you're captain of the cheer team?" Minute asked, a smile on his face.

Jumper just chuckled at that. "Yeah, I was appointed in the last week of school." She explained. "I was gonna tell you but you seemed busy soo." She said with a chuckle. "Well I'm never THAT busy." he joked. And they spent the rest of the day like that, joking and catching up. Eventually the sky for dark and they had to go their separate ways.

When the sun rose Zam woke up and stretched. He and Derap were going shopping today, it wasn't anything Zam was supposed to be that excited for since it wasn't a date but just clothing shopping. But still! He had an excuse to spend a whole day with Derapchu sooo .. Anyways! Zam got up, showered, got dressed and made sure his hair was neat and ate breakfast before he was out the door.

Now, Zam was normally chronically late but! Not today! He got the clothing store before Derap, when Derap arrived they spoke for awhile, discussing what they wanted the suits to look like, and a whole bunch of other things Zam wasn't exactly listening to. But that's fine! Surely that wouldn't fuck him over in anyway shape or form!I

Anyways, aside from that the shopping went well, it was odd to see Derap in yellow but it suited him - sort of. Well not really, yellow wasn't his colour and he really shouldn't wear it ever again. "By the way, I hope you know yellow isn't your colour." Zam said as they walked out of the boutique. "Well yeah I know that." Derap said as he rolled his eyes playfully making Zam chuckle.

Now, you'd think they would have stayed a while just talking at a cafe in the sunset? Nope! Derap went home after the shopping, did that hurt Zam? A little. But they agreed on shopping so, Zam couldn't complain. So he walked home all alone that day.

He knew he needed to tell Derap cause these feelings were slowly eating him alive. But for now, he would suck it up and pretend like everything was okay.

Ash was starting to think that Squiddo stood him up, why you may ask? Because he had been waiting for her for like 20 minutes now and she wasn't answering any calls or texts. He was just about to leave when he heard a familiar voice call his name "Ash!" He heard and turned around, it was Squiddo and she sprinting at him. Oh, okay!

Before the two had the chance of unfortunately bumping into each other he stepped out of her way and she stopped, catching her breath. "Sooo, why are you so late?" Ash asked after the brunette had caught her breath. "Okay so, apparently because Christmas is coming my parents want us to deep clean the already clean house and they wouldn't let me leave until I swept out the living room AND dining room." Squiddo said quickly as Ash just rolled his eyes.

Deciding to not ponder on it Ash just shrugged it off. "Alright whatever, let's go shopping." He said as he walked into the clothing store with Squiddo following behind him. The two spent a while just talking about stupid shit while looking at different dresses and suits. Ash was half listening to whatever the fuck Squiddo was talking about and half just watching her which he now realised was creepy as fuck! ^_^

But oh well, they continued shopping before picking out their outfits, Squiddo picked a pretty simple orange dress that was incredibly bouncy and looked like one of those kids princess dresses but oh well. And Ash picked a simple white suit to which Squiddo had joked that they were a Prince and Princess. Ash just laughed at that.

They were currently walking home together since they had gotten everything pretty quickly. Squiddo was talking about a squirrel she saw on the way to the clothing store that reminded her of Ash which was odd but they were both odd so it was whatever. Eventually they had to go their separate ways since they had gotten to Squiddo's house. After saying their goodbyes Ash just sighed, he knew he needed to tell her. it was almost getting impossible to not tell Squiddo. Being with her for too long felt suffocating and he hated it. He just groaned as he made his way to his own house. He could worry about his problems then, not now.

"I don't know, it's not really giving 'I'm going to a dance with the guy I've been pinning over for like 4 months.' Fruit said as he looked at Fein boredly. "Bro I don't know! I've never had to go shopping for suits and ties and shit." Fein said, rolling his eyes at Fruit's words. To which Fruit just rolled his eyes as well. "And that's why you have me!" Fruit joked as he playfully hit Fein.

"Anyways, even so I doubt Couri's gonna care but to seal the deal you should get a suit." Fruit said, his voice getting soft. "yeah yeah." Fein said dismissively. "If you want we can come back tomorrow?" Fruit suggested and Fein just nodded. "Yeah, I think that would be better. This is hurting my damn head." Fein said as he chuckled to which Fruit also laughed. The two walked out of the clothing store they were in sharing stupid jokes and silly things that had happened.

Fein could worry about getting a suit tomorrow.

Ash woke up earlier than he normally would, it was 7:00AM when he woke up. Funnily enough, it has been only 3 hours since he fell asleep. Originally he was going to sleep at 8 but Squiddo suggested that they stayed up till 12AM to say merry Christmas and then 12 turned into 4AM. Now, you're probably wondering "Ash, what the he'll happened?" Well, Squiddo wanted to sing Christmas carols and who was Ash to say no? so he agreed and they stayed up until 4AM because Squiddo has fallen asleep.

Now could he have easily said no? Definitely! But he enjoyed talking to Squiddo definitely not because he had A fat crush on her. Oh no, no no!! That wasn't Ash Swag at all. So, he eventually got out of bed and went downstairs, prepared to start the day.

——

 

Zam had been up for a while, doing some last minute cleaning and putting up some decorations as well. It was still 11:00AM when he finished cleaning and his parents were cooking so being the good kid he was Zam went to go help them in the kitchen!

 

He may not have been the best help but it was the best way to pass time without wasting it he supposed.

At 2:00PM guests started arriving at Derap's house, everything was ready; dinner, decorations and they had a movie picked out. Derap was exhausted, well he was cooking all day and shit. It was rightfully earned!

 

Derap hadn't spoken to anyone aside from his parents all day which was understandable, everyone was busy on Christmas and Derap was no exception! Anyways, he had to focus on talking to people.

Squiddo sat around her grandmother's dinner table, listening to everyone idly chat talking about work and life and just how busy this week had been. Squiddo didn't have much input on those conversations, she was thinking about her conversation with Redd, he had told her to confess to Ash but she was so scared.

 

She was snapped out of her thoughts when someone called her. "Squiddo! Say, what has you deep in thought like that?" Their aunt asked with a smile. " Well, she doesn't wanna admit it but Squiddo has a boyfriend! " her mom said joking and Squiddo's face heated up at that, leaving everyone at the table silent before her cousin spoke. "Sooo, who's this guy?" She asked and oh boy, dinner was gonna be hectic.

The day had finally come to an end and people were finally beginning to leave Redd's house at 8:30PM. While he loved his family and family friends, talking to people about his life all day was so draining and boring, he was honestly glad that the day was over and he could finally rest.

 

And rest he did, right after Redd took a bath and immediately went to sleep. He couldn't see himself doing this again next year but he knew he had to.

Chapter 9: I'm Mr Loverman, And I Miss My Lover, Man

Squiddo and Ash get together! But one person isn't as happy as they wished they were.

This was the second time this week Ash had to wait an ungodly amount of time for Squiddo to arrive but holy shit was he glad that he waited. If Squiddo looked good before then right now they looked gorgeous. "Hey Ash." She said with a nervous chuckle, a smile gracing her features. Ash had never been at a loss for words before but he was right now. "Hi, you look great." Ash said and he watched Squiddo's face go red.

The two stood for a while in silence before Ash led her to his - parent's - car. Holding the door open for her since he was such a gentleman. He got in the car as well and off they were. The two sat in complete silence aside from Squiddo shuffling beside Ash and the sound of the car's engine. Thankfully they weren't all too late and met up with the rest of his class. Everyone talked for a while before Squiddo pulled Ash to the side. "Umm.. Look, there's something I've wanted to tell you for so, so long. I didn't even get the courage to tell you this until Tuesday so.." Squiddo explained as she inhaled sharply.

"I've had a crush on you- for so long. It's genuinely not even funny. Ash, you're one of the kindest people I know and you're always so kind to me. I feel like I don't deserve your kindness. From the very first day I met you you've been such a great person to hang out with and I'm so glad I met you." Squiddo explained as she took his hands into hers, her face flushed. "And you might not like me back, this might have just fucked out friendship up but I couldn't just not tell you."

Squiddo said, her eyes shining in the light. Ash stated at her in awe, he was unpacking so much. Everything Squiddo had just said was so.. Shocking and he watched her face go from something hopeful to fearful. So he realised he should respond. "Squiddo. You're such a great person and I'm so fucking glad to have met you. You've changed me as a person, every room you walk into you fill with life. You've made me realise that life isn't just about school and drowning in piles of work. You're such a sweet person, you care about everyone you meet and you give everyone a chance to change." Ash said as he looked into her eyes.

They were teary, but she looked so happy. Squiddo stood there frozen for a while before she pulled Ash down and kissed him leaving him shocked but only for a second as he kissed back, it was messy, and it wasn't perfect. But it was perfect for them. They weren't perfect but they were together and that was perfect enough for them. Behind himself he could hear cheering and "Finally!" But he ignored everyone else, nobody else mattered than the beautiful person in front of him.

They had long since pulled away and were just basking in the afterglow of it all. Squiddo was long since crying while they hugged, but it was okay. They were okay. They would be okay.

Zam looked at Squiddo and Ash and he was honestly happy for them. After all, everyone could see how much they loved each other. But he couldn't help but feel slightly jealous. Ash had never looked at Zam like that. And maybe Zam was being petty, maybe he was. But it was whatever, he had moved on and Ash clearly did too.

 

But still, he couldn't help but feel something boiling inside of him and he hated that he couldn't be happy for his friends. He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder, it was Derap. "You alright?" Dearp asked him, his voice soft as he looked at Zam. "I.. I don't know." Zam explained as he looked back at Ash and Squiddo with sad eyes before looking back at Derap.

 

Derap seemed to get it and didn't push further. Zam tried to enjoy the rest of the night but he couldn't help but feel bitter. Ash was so happy, he wasn't this happy with him. He was never this happy with Zam. Zam knew he should have been happy for them but he couldn't. He couldn't be happy for him. While Ash moved on, he was still stuck. Stuck with the feelings he had long since bottled up since they spilt.

 

He couldn't bear the thought so he left early, not wanting to sour the mood, Derap caked after him but he couldn't stay. He didn't want to ruin the good mood. So he left, it felt suffocating to be around them, like he wanted to claw his skin off. But it was fine. He didn't stay so he couldn't ruin it. And that was okay with him.

Derap watched Zam leave. Not being able to stop him, he knew it bothered Zam but not this much. After Zam left people kept asking where he was and all Derap could say was that he had left cause he wasn't feeling well. Derap tried to enjoy the night, but he couldn't. He had been wanting to tell Zam so long and he planned on telling him today but now Zam was gone.

 

Derap tried to enjoy the night, but he couldn't, his mind was clouded with thoughts on how he could have gotten Zam to stay, he thought about how he could have told Zam how much he cares about him, but he couldn't. And he probably couldn't until next year. He fucking hated this.

 

But he didn't want to leave so he forced himself to hang around with friends for the rest of the night. He faked smiles in pictures cause he didn't know what else to do. He felt trapped but he couldn't escape.

 

So much for a fun night.

Derap put his phone back in his pocket when he realised Zam didn't plan on responding to him. He was snapped out of his thoughts when the music stopped and someone started speaking on the microphone. "Alright, um so there was a vote! even though this isn't a prom but we had some candidates for a prom king and queen." Jumper said as she looked out to the crowd. "Now, the votes were close however. Our prom king for this year is..."

 

Jumper trailed off as she opened the letter, her eyes carefully scanning it. "Our prom king is Joel Smallish!" She said cheerfully before putting the paper down on the podium. "If you could, please come up on stage and get your crown which was bought by our lovely student council!" Jumper said as she waited for him to walk up on stage.

 

When he did, she crowned him as prom king as well as gave him a sash and a bouquet from what Derap could see. "Now, not to worry but we've had so many people run for prom queen, all of them campaigning all night. Now, the votes were really close with this one. The point difference being one point actually!" Jumper said as she looked at the results from the votes.

 

She cleared her throat before speaking. "Now, everyone was beautiful tonight and even if you lost you'll still get a little something." And Derap couldn't tell if Jumper was stalling on purpose cause for some reason she looked scared? Afraid? One of those adjectives. "Our prom queen of 2024 is...."

 

Jumper said, drawing it out. "Lizzie Shadow!" She said and the venue broke out into cheers and applause. It wasn't shocking that they won, if Derap remembers correctly they're probably the most well known couple at school. But Derap couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off, Jumper looked off as if she was worried of something bad happening.

 

"Umm.. Also, please don't drink the punch.. I- I don't know what's wrong with it, whether it was spiked or not but.. Anyone..." Jumper said, the words straining to come out. "who drank it.. Or is planning- on drinking either get help or.." Thud

 

Jumper fucking passed out. Suddenly people were being rushed out of the venue and others were dropping like flies. How the fuck could the dance to to that much shit.

Minute: Umm I don't exactly know what to say but like Jumper said, the punch was spiked. Not with alcohol like people usually do but drugs.

Ashswag: We still haven't found out who it was but when we do they're most likely facing charges and expulsion cause well, owning drugs is illegal

Squiddo: I'm so glad I never trust the punch at parties..

Minute: We have no clue who a) spiked the punch and b) what kind of drugs were used. Likely to assume it was a boat load of sleeping pills.

Minute: Jumper and everyone else is okay. If we don't find out by the time school re-opens the school will be on lockdown.

Princezam: Holy shit

Princezam: What the fuck happened when I left?

Minute: Prom king and queen were being announced and then everyone started dropping like flies cause someone spiked the punch

Zam pocketed his phone as he listened to the countdown. He and derap had come to see fireworks together seeing as they didn't exactly get to spend that much time with each other. Derap seemed hyper focused it whatever he was doing in his phone right now though. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1!!" He heard the crowd call out before the loud booms of fireworks spread through the area.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" The crowd cheered as fireworks lit up the sky. "Look!" Zam said as he elbowed Derap, pointing up at the fireworks painting the inky black sky in all shades of different colours, pink, yellow, orange. "They're so pretty.." Zam trailed off, in awe. He saw the fireworks every year but this year felt different and Zam didn't know why. "Not as pretty as you." Derap mumbled, Zam assumed he wasn't supposed to he's that. But he did.

Zam's face flushed as he looked at Derap. "Wha-" he stuttered as he looked at the brunette and Derap looked equally as flustered. "Sorry it just slipped out." Derap said as he looked away. Zam's heartbeat was so loud as his brain tried to rack around what Derap had said. "Sorry, I made this awkward." Derap said. "Nono, it's umm. It's fine.." Zam said as he smiled awkwardly at Derap .

They spent the rest of the firework show in silence, Zam was trying to put his thoughts together. Did Derap like him? Eventually they had to separate and Zam spent the night thinking about his feelings.

Fuck his stupid pretty princess life.

Ash hadn't left his house to go to or from school in a while. However he learned pretty early on he'd drop anything for Squiddo which was probably unhealthy but who really cared.

 

They met at the ice cream parlour and Ash was in awe. While yeah he saw Squiddo almost everyday at school but something about right now felt so surreal to him. Maybe it was because this was a date and not just hanging out at school. "Ash!! Hi!!" Squiddo said, the smile on her face infectious. "Hey Squiddo." He said, his voice soft.

 

They both walked in and ordered their ice cream, Squiddo got Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Ash got cookies and cream, and despite Ash not being the biggest ice cream fan. The ice cream tasted pretty decent. The two ate it while chatting about whatever really with Squiddo mostly leading the conversations.

 

And after the ice cream they just spent time walking around the city and just enjoying the day. "Hey, Ash. Thanks for coming out here with me today." Squiddo said with a smile as she leaned her head into Ash's shoulder. "Well, I didn't exactly have anything else to do today. " Ash said as he wrapped an arm around Squiddo's waist, holding her close.

 

It felt odd, but a nice odd, having Squiddo this close and not just in a friendly way. And they spent the rest of the day side by side doing whatever came to Squiddo's mind and no Ash didn't hate it when they both had to part ways and go home. And no Ash wasn't excited to see her at school tomorrow and no Ash didn't already miss her.

Hiiiiiiii.. So remember that rewrite O was working on? Yeah.. I can't continue with the idea.. When I first started writing the rewrite I wasn't aware of Wemmbu's or Minute's boundaries which is completely on me for not checking.

I know it's not really explicitly stated that they dated (past tense) but still! It would be make me feel weird for breaking someone's boundaries accidentally or not... I might just try to rewrite the already rewritten chapters around it but idk man...
