Gun fire.
Screaming.
Explosions.
Yosano gasped as she was startled awake, almost choking on air. Knocking over a glass of water she had on her nightstand, it shattered as it hit the ground.
She breathed heavily as she eyed the sharp angles of the broken glass. She couldn’t help but look down at her arm for a scar that vanished long ago.
She flinched as another roar of thunder was heard outside. It’s just thunder… just thunder.
Frantic footsteps could be heard outside her room. She quickly grabbed a piece of the shattered glass, remembering those nights in that bunker, her younger self clutching onto a scalpel, listening and waiting for another soldier to make an attempt on her life.
“Yosano?!” A male voice shouted from behind the door.
Kunikida, of course it’s just Kunikida.
“If you don’t answer I’ll have to kick this door down!” Kunikida warned.
“Alright, alright give me a minute!” Yosano shouted back. Embarrassed, she tossed the piece of glass back down onto the floor. She walked over and unlocked the door.
“Yosano, where is the intruder?! I’ll apprehend them!” Kunikida shouted as he held his pistol in his hands, the muzzle pointed to the ground.
“There’s no intruder! Put the gun away you fool!” Yosano scolded.
“Oh…” he sheepishly put his gun away. “But the noise? What happened?”
“Oh quit with that worried look.” She sighed tiredly. “The thunder startled me a bit and I broke some glass, happy?”
… Yosano? Scared of thunder?
“Thunder… you?” Kunikida questioned before quickly shutting up as Yosano gave him a sharp glare. “… uh I apologize.”
“No, no it’s fine.” Yosano cut him off. “You came to save me, correct?”
“… I guess?” Kunikida answered.
“How sweet.” Yosano mocked halfheartedly. “Well as you can see there’s no threat here… beat it.”
“Right… Goodnight, doctor.” Kunikida mumbled before feeling Yosano grip onto his hair.
“Hey, when did I say you could leave?” Yosano questioned.
“What?” Kunikida spat out.
“Well someone needs to clean up all this glass.” Yosano replied as she pulled his ponytail like a leash. “Now come on.”
“H-Hey! Let go of me!” Kunikida shouted as she tugged him along.
Yosano pulled the man into her room and had him clean up the place.
She just wanted to mess with him a bit, but another part of her just needed a distraction.
