“What the hell are you doing?” stammered Kant, struggling to get his hands free, but it was no use. He was cuffed against the chair, his hands handcuffed together behind his back under a very awkward angle, making it quite painful every single time that he tried to move his hands. The metal was ramming into the skin and he gritted his teeth, trying to keep up the act, but the voice inside of his head was screaming at him that something was very wrong.
Kant sat onto the chair willingly .
Bison was standing behind him now and he leaned closer to his face a little bit. However, there was a sudden shift in Bison’s mannerisms. He was no longer smiling, the look on his face was stern. His expression was now colder, darker than anything that Kant could ever remember and the corners of his lips twitched because he didn’t know what the hell was going on.
Bison got him to sit on the chair under the pretense that he wanted the two of them to try out something new. Kant wasn’t too keen on trying new things with Bison, but for the sake of maintaining the act, he decided to go along. The smile on Bison’s face was sweet before, but the second that Bison got him where he wanted, all of that changed.
Bison smirked, running his fingers through Kant’s hair. He pulled on the hair, yanking his head up, keeping Kant’s eyes on the screen in front of him. There was something that Bison wanted to show him. Bison appeared calm on the outside, but all that he felt was rage.
Betrayal.
Anger.
Bison didn’t let himself feel hurt, though.
No.
Bison was better than this.
Fadel made quite the discovery earlier that day when he went through the security camera records that day.
Bison felt his hand shaking, but he swallowed thickly and he leaned closer to Kant again, keeping up the act. Though, Bison wasn’t stupid – he could tell that Kant knew something was wrong. Still, he wanted to see how far Kant was going to go to keep up this charade.
A lie.
“I want to show you something,” purred Bison against Kant’s lips once he was standing in front of him, leaning closer and Kant’s eyes shifted over to the computer screen and he licked across his lower lip.
Was this supposed to turn him on?
Because Kant was fucking terrified. With each passing second, Bison’s mask was closer and closer to completely slipping off. Kant gulped, but he still forced on a little smile and he tipped his head to the side, trying to appear calm and interested in whatever Bison had to offer.
“What? You’ve invited me all the way here to watch porn? ” asked Kant and laughed, Bison laughing with him. However, Bison’s laughter was cold and sinister, making Kant’s laughter soon fizzle out.
“Oh, no,” said Bison. “The thing I want you to see is far more interesting.”
“O-oh?”
“Mmn,” said Bison and slowly walked away, his footsteps slow and heavy, slowly leaning over to the computer. “Watch carefully. I really want to hear your opinion about it,” said Bison and Kant felt his throat getting dry, but he slowly nodded and slowly glanced towards the computer screen.
Kant held in his breath, but whatever he thought Bison was going to show him, he wasn’t ready for what suddenly appeared on the computer screen as Bison finally hit that play button.
Kant saw himself, sneaking into the room downstairs. An event that happened just a few nights ago, the night he and Style went out on a double date with the brothers. When Kant made that terrible night, Babe was in danger. At first Kant didn’t even realise just how bad the situation was. It didn’t register into his brain that the gig was up, that Bison knew the truth.
Colour drained from Kant’s face and he was sitting there, frozen in fear.
“This was taken on the night of our double date,” said Bison and Kant glanced down, but Bison grabbed his hair and made him look up again. “No, no,” said Bison, his voice anything but calm. “Keep your eyes on the screen, I want you to watch the entire thing, Kant. ”
Kant just sat there, running out of air, his eyes wide.
Kant was terrified, his head was spinning and on the inside he was screaming. Kant wanted to scream, but no sound would make it past his lips. Kant was just…
“You were supposed to be with Babe, no?”
Kant gulped, but he didn’t reply.
“So, how come you’re sneaking around our place?” asked Bison and slowly pulled out his gun, slowly loading it as the video wasn’t over yet. He was taking his sweet time with loading the gun, stepping to the side and when Kant saw what was happening, he started struggling yet again.
“I…”
“I mean, it’s pathetic, really,” said Bison and shook his head. “You could’ve at least tried to hide your identity. But, no, you’re wearing the exact same clothes as you were on our date.”
Kant didn’t know what to say – what was he supposed to say?!
Kant needed to choose his words very carefully.
“Cat got your tongue, not in the mood for talking?” asked Bison and cocked his gun, chuckling softly as he leaned closer to Kant yet again. Their faces were close, Kant trying to move away, but Bison didn’t let him get anywhere. He grabbed his face roughly and pulled his gaze up. “Lucky for the both of us, I have so much I want to talk to you about,” said Bison and tapped his cheek.
“You-”
“I decided to do a bit of digging as well, Kant,” said Bison because he needed to come to the bottom of this before he confronted Kant about this. “I had a couple of people follow you around,” said Bison and Kant’s blood turned ice cold. “Word on the street is that you’ve been meeting up with the police behind my back,” said Bison as he sat on top of Kant’s legs and pressed the muzzle of the gun against his temple.
Bison was shaking.
No longer was he as calm and collected as he hoped that he would be. He wanted to make this quick. Kant betrayed him, he didn’t want to hear any of his excuses. It was simple, really. Bison was going to get rid of Kant, just like he promised to Fadel. Fadel offered himself to do that for Bison as it was clear that his brother had feelings for Kant, but this was just it – Bison needed to punish Kant himself, he needed to make him pay.
“I-I can explain,” stammered Kant, closing his eyes when the gun was pressed rougher against his temples and Bison’s finger was on the trigger. It would be so easy to end it all.
“You can’t, ” said Bison.
“I didn’t have a choice-”
“Zip it,” hissed Bison and shoved the muzzle of the gun into Kant’s mouth, efficiently shutting him up. Bison’s smirk was back, this time only more unhinged and Kant could tell that Bison was having fun, swallowing thickly, but he didn’t dare to make a sound.
Nothing.
He sat underneath Bison, frozen in fear. The fear was apparent, visible in his eyes and Bison gently caressed his cheek. The place that Bison touched burned and Kant couldn’t breathe. Bison’s finger was again resting on the trigger and if he just pressed it now…
It was game over.
Kant knew he was playing with fire, but he really was stupid. Sneaking into their place without a disguise was something that Kant knew was going to come and bite him back in the ass. He really didn’t think. He didn’t. It was too late now to be crying about his own fucking stupid mistakes.
Bison figured it all out. It didn’t matter.
“Babe was never in danger, was he?”
Kant shook his head and Bison smiled – there, finally. Kant was telling him the truth.
“And yet,” said Bison and frowned. “He was in on it as well,” said Bison and Kant’s face changed yet again. “It wasn’t just you toying with me, but your brother as well,” said Bison and sighed. “Pity, I really liked the kid, but now-”
Kant wanted to yell and he let out a groan, shaking his head.
Kant couldn’t speak as the gun was still in his mouth, but Bison got annoyed, so he pressed the gun against Kant’s throat instead and Kant swallowed thickly, trying to piece together something that was coherent, but he got nothing. Kant shook his head yet again and he glanced at Bison, his eyes pleading.
Kant was doing all of this for Babe.
“He’s got nothing to do with this,” whispered Kant.
“No?”
“No, please, believe me. Leave him out of this, it’s not his fault. I asked him to lie for me, that’s all. Really, leave my brother out of this, I beg you. Babe has nothing to do with this,” kept on rambling Kant, babbling at the end, but the fear got to him and there were tears of worry in his eyes, spilling over the second he looked into Bisons’ eyes.
No remorse.
No sympathy.
Pure hatred.
“Stop crying, you look pathetic,” said Bison.
“Bison, please- ”
“You’ve been lying to me, you’ve been deceiving me all this time, didn’t you?” asked Bison and his hand was now shaking. His hand was unsteady, the finger still on the trigger and Kant formed fists with his hands. Kant didn’t care if he survived or not, he just wanted Babe to be safe. “All this time, all of it was built on a fucking lie, ” hissed Bison and the mask slipped.
There was pain in Bison’s voice.
Bison sounded heartbroken for a second, but he was trying to piece himself together because there was no time for feelings now. No, Bison needed to keep his family safe. That was all that he needed to focus on.
Bison should’ve known it from the beginning.
Love wasn’t meant for someone like him.
Fadel was right.
But, it hurt, it hurt so fucking much because Bison could see himself really falling in love with Kant. He already liked him so much. He started to open up to him, he started to trust him, which wasn’t easy for him. Bison felt betrayed, it hurt so fucking much. He had never experienced this kind of pain.
Bison was actually stupid enough to actually think he could ever live a normal life. Kant gave him that hope of a normal life, but that was ripped up. So many lies, all of it was a lie.
Kant never really cared for him.
Kant was only interested in money, was that it?
“Did the police pay you well to spy on me, huh?” asked Bison.
“It’s not about the money,” whispered Kant.
“ Stop it, ” hissed Bison.
“I didn’t have a choice,” said Kant.
“There’s always a choice, Kant. You just-”
“You don’t understand,” stammered Kant and closed his eyes. “The police has been blackmailing me for years now. They have me do their dirty work, just because they have dirt on me,” whispered Kant. “From the days I used to steal cars, I-I’ve made a deal with them. If I worked for them, then I wouldn’t go to jail. I’m their pawn, I know, but what else am I supposed to do?! I can’t go to prison, Babe needs me,” said Kant. “I never meant-”
Bison’s lower lip trembled, but he didn’t want to hear it.
Bison didn’t care.
He didn’t want to care.
“I never meant for this to go this far,” whispered Kant. “I never meant to lead you on for so long, I didn’t-”
“It must’ve been fun,” said Bison. “Lying, selling me out for the little deal you made with the police,” said Bison, pain flashing in his eyes.
“It was supposed to be quick, I never mean to-”
“You forced yourself in my life,” hissed Bison. “But, all of it was built on lies,” said Bison. “You fed me a bunch of lies, you said what I wanted to hear, but in reality, you haven’t told me a single truth-”
“You’ve been lying as well,” shot Kant back and he knew it was a mistake, but he just couldn’t deal with all of that. There was a part of him that was bothered by it – being accused of only lying. While Kant was being hypocritical, Bison was also lying to him. Even if the whole relationship was nothing but a charade, Bison also didn’t tell him about himself.
“What?” growled Bison.
“You haven’t been exactly honest yourself as well,” said Kant and licked across his lower lip. “You somehow forgot to mention you’re a killer- ”
Kant never got to finish that sentence.
“Do you think I chose any of this?” hissed Bison. “All I ever wanted was a normal life. I didn’t ask for any of this – I didn’t want to be turned into a weapon when I was adopted. All I wanted was a family, ” said Bison, his voice starting to crack. “I never wanted…”
Kant’s heart sank, it was breaking.
Kant knew Bison was telling him the truth. Even if Bison didn’t tell him everything about himself, he knew he was telling him the truth – Bison wanted a normal life, always claiming he finally got to experience that with Kant. In a way, Kant felt for him, so he at least tried to give him a sense of that before betraying him.
“I might’ve lied about myself, but I’ve never told you a single lie about how I felt about you,” said Bison and lowered his hand, almost dropping the gun. Bison looked wrecked, he looked tired and broken. “I’ve never lied about that. I started to trust you. ”
“I’m-”
“Has any of this been real for you?” whispered Bison in the moment of weakness.
Kant hesitated.
Tears welled up in Bison’s eyes because he was almost hoping that Kant would at least say that some of it was real, but the silence was proving him otherwise. Bison gritted his teeth and bowed his head down, the pain in his chest burning him.
Bison screamed.
The pain was unbearable, so he screamed.
“Damn you,” growled Bison, but when he glanced up, Kant's cheeks were wet with tears as well.
“I never asked for any of this to happen,” said Kant and closed his eyes. “I never wanted to hurt you. I just wanted to take care of my brother, I didn’t-” whispered Kant. “I wasn’t supposed to start falling for you.”
Bison gritted his teeth because even if he heard what Kant said, he refused to believe it.
Another lie?!
“Stop lying,” hissed Bison and grabbed Kant’s throat.
Kant’s eyes widened and he tried struggling around the handcuffs, but it was no use as Bison's grip around his throat was almost crushing. Kant shuddered, letting out a breathless plea, but Bison didn’t listen. Instead, he only squeezed tighter.
Bison didn’t want to care about the consequences as he was staring down at Kant’s face. He looked completely terrified, his eyes wide, mouth open as a soundless gasp escaped past his lips. He was struggling to breathe, but Bison’s fingers were cutting his air supply. Kant’s face was turning red.
Laugh.
Bison should be laughing now because he was winning.
Yet…
He felt empty.
Bison felt empty. He could easily snap Kant’s neck, he could easily choke him to death, but what good was that going to do?! It wasn’t going to erase the pain in his heart.
Bison could feel himself waver, the grip loosened and Kant managed to catch his breath, but Bison snapped out of it and tightened it again, leaning closer to Kant’s face.
“Do you really think I’d believe you?” asked Bison. “Do you think I’m that stupid?!”
Kant shook his head, feeling lightheaded.
The grip was crushing, Kant could feel his vision getting blurry.
Just a little longer and it was all going to be over.
Kant… smiled.
Perhaps this was the poetic justice everyone was always talking about.
Bison’s blood turned cold when he saw the smile.
“... tell Babe… I’m sorry…”
What the hell?
What the fuck?!
Bison was caught off guard, his chest feeling tight and even if he wanted to kill Kant, he realised it right there and then, that he couldn’t do it. Kant managed to web himself too tightly into his heart, so even if wanted to see life go out of his eyes, he wasn’t able to do it.
Bison’s mind darkened, but he finally released Kant, climbing off of him, rubbing the back of his neck with his gun. Bison was shaking, his heart was hammering against ribcage and he yelled out again, until his throat felt raw, Kant coughing as he was finally able to breathe and he gulped.
What… What was going to happen now?
Bison didn’t kill him. Yet.
“I can’t do it,” stammered Bison, unsteady on his legs as he swayed back and forth, out of breath. “Look what you’ve done, I’m weak, ” yelled Bison and cocked his gun, shooting, but he missed Kant on purpose. He just needed to let his frustration out, firing the gun yet again.
Kant flinched, still too out of it to really…
“Why?!” yelled Bison.
Kant leaned back, his entire body feeling exhausted.
Bison was laughing and crying at the same time, feeling out of it as well.
“Everything is a mess because of you!” yelled Bison.
“I’m sorry-”
“You don’t get to apologise, you can’t take away what you’ve done!”
“I know. I know I can’t,” said Kant, his voice cracking as he coughed again, his throat feeling raw, body aching.
Bison froze as he glanced at him, hsi laughter again breaking into a sharp gasp. The gun was still in his grip, wavering a little.
“Shut up!” screamed Bison, his voice cracking under the pressure of everything. He felt overwhelmed. He fired yet another shot, this one embedding into the wall just centimetres away above Kant’s head. The sound of the gunshot echoed in the room and Kant flinched again.
Bison was completely off the rails.
Kant straightened himself up.
“Go ahead, do it if you must,” whispered Kant. “Shoot me.”
“You think you can lecture me? You think you know me?” asked Bison, his voice dangerously low. The words hung heavy in the air, suffocating Kant. Bison’s grip tightened on the gun, still pointing it at Kant. His knuckles were white to the bone, his finger frozen on the trigger.
Just press it and end it all.
Bison couldn’t do it.
A guttural scream escaped past Bison’s lips as the gun fell from his grip, clattering to the ground. Bison sank down onto his knees, his fingers gripping onto his hair out of frustration, rocking back and forth as he screamed again.
“Damn you, Kant!” yelled Bison. “Everything is fucked! ”
How was Bison supposed to move on from this?!
What was he supposed to do?!
Because despite everything, he couldn’t fucking do it. He didn’t want to kill Kant.
Kant closed his eyes, breath shaking, but he knew if Bison wanted him dead, then he would already do it by then.
Still – what was to happen next?
Kant didn’t want to think as Bison eventually left the room, leaving him cuffed against the chair as he couldn't deal with it.
Everything was utterly fucked and Bison didn’t know how to deal with it.
