Colin Bridgerton is a paramedic recently dumped by his socialite girlfriend, Marina Thompson, because he wanted to be a paramedic, which was below her status. Colin was left a large trust fund after losing his father when he was 9. He doesn't want to use his trust fund like his siblings; he likes anonymity and being away from the spotlight.
