Uzi had thought about this for a while, remembering back to when they were dealing with the solver, when V had "sacrificed" herself, her last words to Uzi in that moment still lived in her head but, so did something else. Those glasses she wore, the rounded frame with orange tinted lenses. V clearly had a reason to have had them, did she struggle with her vision? But Uzi always thought they had much better optics compared to workers. She would feel weird asking V about it so she decided she wouldn't, and today V was busy which was perfect for Uzi's plan.
Uzi left the bunker, going to scavenge for something. She travelled decently far, checking building after building for what she was looking for. Surprisingly enough, she found an almost identical pair to the glasses V had previously. Uzi stored them in her backpack, finding a safe spot so they wouldn't get damaged by anything else in there. On her way back she found a gift box, a perfect size for the glasses, she debated if it would be too... corny to use it but, not feeling like debating with herself she grabbed it and took it with her. As she approached her bunker she finished packing it with her gift for V, sending her a text to meet her in Uzi's room in about 10 minutes as it took a while for her to get there from the main doors.
V got Uzi's text, curious what it was about and luckily, she had just finished hanging out with Lizzy. She did have other plans for the day but she felt like they could wait, whatever it is Uzi needed her for must be important. V made her way to Uzi's small, but rather cozy, room. Purple lights illuminated it, she had a bunk bed but they only ever sleep on the top bunk, V always worries about Uzi falling out of bed so they tend to sleep with at least V's tail wrapped around her to keep her safe. Final point of interest would be her "gaming setup" as Uzi always called it, though, she tends to only use it to code and watch anime, sometimes V would watch anime with her, other times she would watch her code. As V was distracted looking around Uzi's room, she heard the door behind her open, turning around to see the small purple drone holding a gift, raising an eyebrow.
Uzi hadn't expected V to be right there so once she looked up she jumped back, startled, hitting her back into the door she just entered through. "Robo-god V! Don't scare me like that."
V found Uzi being startled by her a bit funny, "Not my fault you were too busy staring at that gift. What's inside it anyway?" V leant down to Uzi's level, giving her a smug grin.
"Bite me! It's... a gift for you. Robo-god, that sounds dumb." Uzi looked away, a blush appearing on her visor as she held the gift out for V, "Just take it! This is so embarrassing."
V chuckled from how Uzi was acting, she was touched that she got a gift for her. She took the gift from Uzi's hands, examining it before looking back at Uzi, "So, what is it?" V knew she had to open it, but she also knew Uzi would give a pretty funny response to V asking again.
"Idiot, just open it already, or I'll take it back to where I found it." Uzi wasn't actually mad at her, she just tends to get... playfully angry, it never really worked against V and she probably found it cute but... as Uzi's mind trailed off about that she caught herself blushing, crossing her arms and looking away from V.
Once again, V chuckled, switching one of her hands to her claws and used them to cut the wrapping open, switching back to her normal hands. Then, she lifted the lid off, dropping it to the floor as she looked inside the gift, her eyes hollowing out. "...Uzi?" V's voice came out in a different tone, a tone Uzi didn't hear often.
"Yeah?" Uzi replied, still looking away from V, nervous about whether she likes it or not. V carefully lifted the pair of glasses out of the gift box, looking at them and realising they were almost an exact replica to the pair she had previously, did Uzi really remember them? V felt herself begin to get emotional, putting the glasses on and noticing as everything got clearer. She was used to her usual, slightly blurry vision, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't happy to get her full vision back.
Suddenly, V grabbed Uzi and pulled her into a tight hug, seemingly crying against her shoulder. "V? Are you okay?" Uzi returned the hug, the tightness of V's grip was a lot on her smaller frame but she can handle it. "Thank you, Uzi. This means... a lot to me." V wasn't usually like this, it was rare but it always felt nice to Uzi, knowing that she feels comfortable enough to let herself be like this around her.
The two of them held the hug for as long as V needed, eventually pulling away and looking at Uzi, smiling softly as she saw the worker in full clarity. "You're pretty cute for someone who's meant to be my prey." Uzi gave her a playful punch, "You know I'm not your prey anymore, except... for the odd time you have to take my oil because you forgot to feed yourself."
"Not my fault you keep me here overnight sometimes." V began to examine her room again, seeing it clearly with her new glasses. "You like staying here with me, you know that. Plus, you probably like my oil." Uzi saw V looking around, smiling a little as she saw a smile appear on V's face.
"Hey, V?" Uzi put a hand on V's arm, looking up at her. "What's up?" V gave a slightly worried look, Uzi doesn't usually approach her like that. "Can we... cuddle?" Uzi looked away, embarrassed, moving her hand down to grab V's hand softly. "Of course we can." V grabbed Uzi, taking her over to her bed, setting her down gently and joining her.
After the two of them got comfortable, V wrapped her arms around Uzi and pulled her close to her chest, her core was beating faster than normal, Uzi could feel it as their bodies touched. As V cuddled Uzi, she took off her beanie, messing with her hair a little. "Hey! You could've asked first." V didn't give her a response, continuing to play with her hair. Uzi blushed in return, feeling V be so soft and gentle with her, it felt nice being the only person who sees V like this.
"I love you, V." Moments like this were so important to Uzi, being able to simply relax in the arms of her girlfriend, not needing to worry about anything. The comfort of V was perfect for her, and she couldn't be happier. "I love you too, Uzi." V seemed to hold her a little tighter, not wanting to let go of her, not wanting to ever lose her. Times like these she would get very clingy, but she would never admit that, she had a feeling Uzi could tell anyway. V was like a big clingy cat, whenever she's with Uzi she would tend to stick close to her, always be by her side to make sure she's safe, she was definitely a little overprotective with her.
The two girls cuddled in silence, enjoying each others company and warmth. It wasn't time for them to sleep yet but Uzi felt herself getting low on battery, she was never the best at getting a proper amount of rest, usually because of late nights coding or just struggling to fall asleep, but she realised that sleeping with V was always... easier for her, she just never knew how to ask her. Uzi moved around in V's arms a little, getting more comfortable, her new position making her able to listen to V's core. "V?" Uzi's voice was muffled, her face pressed against V's clothes. "Yeah?" V answered, her voice coming out in a softer tone than usual. "Can you... uhm... sleep with me?" Uzi was admittedly pretty nervous, asking V for this felt weird and Uzi could never tell if she liked staying the night (morning? idk). Though, her worries seemed to go away when V answered her, "I would love to." V smiled, she always wanted to stay with Uzi, she just didn't know how to ask.
Uzi pulled away from V for a moment, looking up at her before getting closer to her face, planting a kiss right on her lips. V returned the kiss, closing her eyes and leaning into it a little. The two of them held the gentle kiss before pulling away and looking each other in the eyes. They didn't need to say a word to each other, the way the two of them were blushing and smiling told a million words. Uzi moved back to her original spot and V brought her close again. "Goodnight, V." Uzi hugged V, turning off her optics and preparing to rest. "Goodnight, Uzi." V played with her hair, smiling as she held her tight, messing her hair up a little before doing the same as Uzi. Soon enough they were both asleep, their cores beating together, their bodies keeping each other warm, they were happy.
