Hey, everyone.... It’s Sunday, and you know what that means—another piece of fanfiction to keep the spark alive! I was rewatching that romione piano scene, and it hit me with an idea I couldn’t resist writing down. So, here it is—hope you all enjoy it....
Disclaimer : JK Rowlings Own Ron and Hermione, not me....
The dimly lit room seemed to freeze in time as Ron sat next to Hermione by the piano.
He wasn’t really looking at the instrument or the flickering shadows on the wall. His eyes were solely on her.
Hermione, lost in her own thoughts, didn’t notice his gaze. She leaned slightly forward, her fingers brushing absentmindedly across the piano keys.
The soft light caught strands of her bushy hair, framing her face in a way that made her look almost ethereal.
She looked calm, but he could see the tension in her shoulders—the weight she carried. Ron swallowed hard. His throat felt dry, his chest heavy.
She had no idea, did she? No idea how much she captivated him. How every time he looked at her, he felt a pull so strong it terrified him.
His hands gripped his knees tightly, trying to ground himself. He wanted to say something. To tell her that she wasn’t alone, that she didn’t have to carry it all by herself. But the words wouldn’t come.
Instead, his mind wandered—his thoughts betraying him as they always did when he was this close to her. Would it be wrong to reach out and tuck that stray strand of hair behind her ear?
To let his fingers linger on her cheek, feel the softness of her skin? His eyes dropped to her lips—slightly parted, moving just a little as she let out a quiet sigh.
He couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to kiss her. To close the distance and lose himself in her. He swallowed again, his Adam’s apple bobbing, his body tense. His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
How was it possible for her to sit there, so close, so effortlessly beautiful, while he was unraveling inside? She turned her head slightly, and for a terrifying moment, he thought she might catch him staring. He quickly looked down, pretending to be interested in the piano keys, but his heart was pounding so loudly he thought she might hear it. Get a grip, Ron, he scolded himself.
She’s Hermione.
But even as he tried to shake off the thoughts, they lingered. The longing, the urge to reach out—it was all-consuming. He let out a soft, shaky breath, hoping she wouldn’t notice his internal struggle.
And then she looked up at him, her soft brown eyes meeting his. "Ron?" she asked, her voice pulling him back to reality. He blinked, caught off guard. "Yeah?" he croaked, his voice rougher than he intended. "Are you okay?" she asked, tilting her head slightly, her expression curious. "I—yeah, I’m fine," he stammered, looking away quickly. "Just... thinking."
She gave him a small smile, the kind that made his stomach flip, and turned her attention back to the piano.
As she did, Ron let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, his chest tightening with the realization: he was completely, hopelessly in love with her.
