Work Text:
Sun emitted its heavenly light onto a higher plane, where most Halovians live. It was, how many would describe, heaven - up in the sky, amidst the clouds a city of beautifully crafted towers. Nobody knew anymore how that plane came into existence, whether built or naturally created, yet it mattered not.
The single most important thing in this world were Halovians. New Angels.
They were capable of many things after all - detecting and affecting others emotions, making their voice be known across the land - microphones reduced to a mere prop, and an unique appearance of a halo and a small pair of wings behind their ears.
Sun contined to glow at the city, making it radiance in the star's glory.
Today was a normal day.
A girl hurried past the door of a nicely decorated apartment. Despite an early hour, it was atmospherically lit, thanks to the darkened windows stretching from floor to the celling. The view showed a busy city, almost entirely white. Any colors of note were shops positioned along an endless line.
A man sighed, repositioning on the violet sofa. His halo lowered enough not to be visible from behind the seat frame.
"Hey brother!" Sumire exclaimed, coming into the living room with skipping steps.
"Ah hey Sumi, good mood hm?" Kokichi asked looking up from the phone.
"Yes! You won't believe who I found"
Kokichi stared her down in confusion.
"Since when do you recruit people?"
"Oh my agention still has to decide whether or not to recruit him. However I'd like you to meet him. I think you will see his potential too."
Kokichi sighed. "Name?"
"Shuichi Saihara, he's a violinist" Sumire responded without missing a beat. Kokichi looked at her again.
"Now I see" He smirked. "Are you sure you don't like him?"
"Not in that sense brother!"
"Sure sure, pretty sure??"
"You're annoying. Yes" Sumire smiled nonetheless. "Can I take it as a yes on your part?"
Kokichi shrugged. "Might as well see him" He smirked once again. "But really sure?-" He didn't get to end the question.
♡~♧''♧~♡
Kokichi was waiting outside the practise room, looking around. Sumi said that Saihara had a characteristic navy hair and golden eyes, in which you could "lose yourself". Weird, she wasn't lying to Kokichi, but she might've to herself. He should've asked forth time.
Speaking of the devil, there the navy hair appeared from the corner. Smartly dressed, like he was going on the ball of the century. Ugh. He has had enough of 'speak rich, hide ugly' folks.
"H-Hello... I'm Saihara Shuichi"
But he had to admit his voice was really pretty.
"Not talkative are you?" Teasing is the best when it comes to meeting new people. They often underesteemate how much they can reveal themselves. Saihara seemed to be anxious and awkward, and second time anxious. "Well don't worry! I'll only ruin your entire career-"
"H-HUH, please not! At least give me a chance!" Saihara shot back, immediately covering his mouth after. Hmm doesn't seem like a good partner.
"Just joking! Had you brought your violin or do I have to provide you?"
"It won't be necessary..." He took his instrument and showed it.
"Giuseppe Ornati? Great choice!" Kokichi praised. God knows if the actual owner knows their violin model, but good choice is good choice.
"Thank you" Saihara mumbled with a red tint on his cheeks and bowed. Kokichi smiled and led the guest into the practise room. It contained lots of space and along the walls was a line of various instruments, raging from piano to said violins. Spotless wooden flooring didn't dare to make any creak as they walked on it.
Saihara gasped quietly. Ouma always liked to see reactions of others.
"So!" He clapped his hands. "Why wait? Play the song of your choice!" He encouraged.
"I can play anything...?" Saihara asked looking stressed as he had just lost his job.
"Yes. Let your artist soul guide you"
Shuichi stared at him some more, before flushing red and finally preparing to play. What does my sister see in you Saihara?
Slowly he began playing. Kokichi tried to indentify the song but regretfully failed. However despite not having the priviledge to compare his to the original, Kokichi felt somehow... happy.
And Saihara played more.
And to say that Ouma was in awe would be an understatement. The ability to make the audience feel something is such an important skill in artists. It can even solo carry. And Ouma could right here, right now say that Saihara expressed it masterfully.
Kokichi couldn't look away. His eyes were on this single man, focused on his single violin.
I want to hear his voice.
"Can you sing?" He said mindlessly.
Shuichi stopped.
"I.." He looked like he contemplaited it. "I can, but.."
"Then please! Don't worry, your violin will carry" That seemed to ease Saihara's nerves a little. He sighed, prepare so more, and sang.
Actually sang. How is he unsure of his beautiful voice?! And where did Sumire scooped him? Did the agency even listened to him?? If it's because he's not a Halovian, he's going to blow them up-
Oh Saihara is looking at him.
"A-Ah awful performance! So tragic it brought me to tears!" Please catch the hint. I cannot believe this made me cry--
Saihara looked heartbroken. He nearly lost his hold on the violin.
"...Don't be so guiltable. I'll correct all your mistakes" Kokichi said and wiped his tears away. "Meet me next week lucky one~" He smirked mischivously and led Saihara to the exit.
"Thank you and Ms. Yuushita" He said, bowing lowly, before they parted ways. His face prominated light so much that Kokichi thought he was going blind.
Shuichi Saihara huh. Until next week then~
