  context, context because this is basically an alternative ending for a fic I haven't started writing, so I said in the Pit once "Omegaverse phantom thief 'didn't know who else to turn to' lack of communication friends with benefits mutual pinning disaster send tweet"
  and then "Fuck it maybe Kokichi gets his rut when Shuichi corners him at the love hotel and shows a little panic at being so vulnerable and easy to catch rn because he can't just go outside like this and Shuichi technically isn't supposed to be affected by him since they're both alphas even though he's sure that his rut is actually triggered by Shuichi, that's just him being a freak, but Shuichi says it'd be unfair to arrest him now and an unsatisfying ending to their game since he wants to win by actually outwitting him" and after that a domino effect of Shuichi also getting his rut, a bunch of risky business, disaster, finally getting together, Shuichi claims burn out and goes on to join DICE, but in this version they've been failing to achieve the 1% possibility of conception in an alpha for months and escalating their efforts lead to this...
