Béatrice Lacroix has considered herself an orphan for a couple of years now. Her father had been killed years ago, by her own mother non the less. Before that woman fled and left her behind to fend for herself. Béatrice doesn’t care where her mother is now, she’s been considered dead to her anyway.
In France Béatrice has been part of the foster system ever since the murder. Originally she was suppose to stay with a few Overwatch agents, like her father had originally wanted, but the Overwatch organization already unstable and a drop in public opinion didn’t help either. The foster system thought that they were the better choice for, so the court ordered her stay with them. We already know that in most fanfic cases the foster system is one for a tragic backstory, don't we?
Young Lacroix escaped the system by contacting UA’s Principle Nezu. He helped her travel from France to Japan as she entered UA into the hero course. She didn't take the regular exam though, she was immediately placed in a class by recommendation of the principle. Which was met with some protest from the teachers, but the principle wouldn’t budge and placed her anyway.
Béatrice is 15-years-old and born without a quirk. Instead she uses a sniper riffle which she can also uses as a support item. Her riffle can shoot either normal bullets or healing syringes. Basically Ana’s riffle.
She met Katsuki Bakugo in the few months she was already in Japan before the school year began and they began dating just before the year started. At first, Béatrice didn't want to date him because of his behavior towards quirkless people, but he toned down a bit after he saw her use her riffle. Hopefully not aiming for his face. Even though she is often at his house, UA is paying for an apartment close to campus.
But in the few months she had been in Japan, she didn't notice the pink/purple skull appear in het smart phone.
