Chapter Text

Donnie was in his lab, on the blow up mattress instead of just- actually going to bed. But he needed to be alone right now.

Nobody else knew.

Nobody else knew the way he coped, he'd like to keep it that way.

He laid down, finally. On the ceiling, all sizes of glow in the dark moons and stars were visible, in faint hues of purples and blues.

He pulled the weighted blanket atop him, safety be ignored, he needed some pressure right now. And instantly, he could feel his body intense as the weight settled comfortably, it was warm, too. A nice contrast to the cold laboratory floors he was oh so close to tonight.

He blindly reached around, looking for something —He didn't have his contacts in at the moment, curse his eyes poor genes!

After feeling around for a bit,  he found where his binky had fallen. Taking it within his grasp with a relieved sigh. He'd lost his pacifier once, and it was nearly discovered—Stressful, 0/0 day rating.

He made a slightly grossed out face, wiping it off on his overly soft and, rather comfortable hoodie. It was purple, obviously. So was the pacifier, so was the blanket, the mattress. It's all purple, it's a safe colour to him, if that made sense.

Not that anything has to make sense, for once. He was all alone, logic wasn't needed when he switched his brain off, no matter how increasingly difficult that became. He didn't exactly like turning off logic every time he slipped into his younger headspace, but it did help.

He took to the binky, sucking it while adjusting to get as cozy as turtley possible. The binky also had a little purple star in the middle, he liked stars. Mostly because Leo liked them.

Tomorrow, he'd worry about his duties in the med bay, he had to recalibrate Leo's prosthetic, again. It seemed his brother had no concept of what being cautious meant.

And tomorrow, he'd worry about helping April with her exam, the poor girl was so caught up in her own life that she'd waited til the last mintue to do it.

And tomorrow, he'd worry about surviving another day. Keeping the lair operational, keeping himself sane, fighting crime, all the morally correct stuff.

But he wouldn't worry about it tonight. Or, at the least, he would keep all his worries to a minimum. Tonight, all he'd worry about was making sure his Atomic Lass plush could breathe but still be under the covers.

Tonight, he'd worry about how many stars he could count before drifting off.

Tonight... he yawned-

Tonight, he might just not worry about anything, anything at all.

Edit: made this had multiple parts! ^^"
