Summary
Dinner ends up being a harrowing affair for Jiang Cheng. As if the anticipation simmering in her gut from Wei Wuxian’s earlier words wasn’t enough, she has to struggle to keep up with the conversation as Wei Wuxian secretly runs a foot up her calf or lays a hand on her knee. It’s not as though they don’t regularly get up to things in their own apartment, but it’s much different here, in their childhood home where they shared all their fumbling firsts, with Wei Wuxian squeezing her knee under the table right in front of Jiang Cheng’s parents, who still have no idea of the exact sort of relationship between the two.
Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng return to the Jiang house for winter break, and it stirs up certain memories and feelings.
