Summary
Luck had never been on Evan Buckley’s side.
From the moment he was born, some greater force or the entire universe decided to conspire against him no matter what. So, when he woke up on Christmas Eve in a cold sweat with a pounding headache, dry throat, and what felt like a horse sitting on his chest, he wasn’t all that surprised.
It had been building for a while; a small headache on shift, a tickle at the back of his throat, and a lethargic feeling in his muscles that he couldn’t shake. Buck had just hoped it would have kept its distance until after Christmas.
The universe laughed and held up its middle finger.
