Jin Cheonhee had miraculously turned into a baby for quite some time now, and while Yooho was busy searching for the cause (and the cure), Jaegal Lin was in no hurry.
Well, he was worried that this would have negative effects on his beloved disciple, but having Jin Cheonhee as a baby was far too addictive. Jaegal Lin loved everything the baby did, and every smile he managed to coax from his disciple seemed to extend his life by a few years.
“Cheonhee,” he beamed as he watched his baby wake up. When he realized that Jin Cheonhee was stuck as a baby, at least for the meantime, Jaegal Lin had Yooho create a cradle for him, padded with blankets and pillows of the best material.
Baby Jin Cheonhee's eyes fluttered open and a smile appeared on the baby's face, recognizing Jaegal Lin and making grabby hands at him.
Jaegal Lin didn't need to be told twice — he scooped the baby into his arms and grinned at the squeal and laughter of his baby, who instantly placed his small arms around Jaegal Lin's neck and leaned on his shoulder.
“Cheonhee, good morning,” he said, smiling as he rocked the baby from side to side.
Even as a baby, Jin Cheonhee was easygoing and cheerful, not making a fuss or crying except if something bad happened.
“Cheonhee, look,” Jaegal Lin said, carrying the baby to the nearest window and pointing at the outside.
While they had been sleeping, the world had changed, blanketed by white snow and turning the clinic into a winter wonderland.
“Hu, Masss-ter,” baby Jin Cheonhee said, pointing at the outside with a small finger. Jaegal Lin tried not to scream because of the cuteness overload.
“Yes baby, it's snowing outside. Snowing,” he repeated, reaching out a hand to pinch Cheonhee's cheek.
“Shnow, Master,” Cheonhee babbled, pressing his face closer to the window in childlike wonder.
“Do you like it?” Jaegal Lin asked, a twinkle of mischief in his eye.
“If you like it, we can go outside and touch it…”
“Shnow, Masss-ter,” Cheonhee nodded eagerly and pointed at Jaegal Lin's hair.
“Shno,” Cheonhee said again, grabbing a fistful of Jaegal Lin's hair and unhesitatingly putting it in his mouth.
By this time Jaegal Lin was familiar with his disciple's antics, and knowing how much Cheonhee loved his hair, Jaegal Lin had made sure to wash it thoroughly so his baby wouldn't get sick.
“This isn't snow, baby. This is my hair,” he chuckled, bringing Cheonhee away from the window and settling him on Jaegal Lin's bed.
Gently freeing his hair from Cheonhee's mouth, Jaegal Lin patted his disciple's head a few times before opening his wardrobe.
His wardrobe used to be filled with his clothes only, but now, a portion of it had been emptied, leaving space for baby Cheonhee's clothes.
Jaegal Lin couldn't help praising himself and his foresight — the fact that he had asked Yooho to buy custom made baby clothes for Cheonhee the first day his disciple was turned into a baby was proof of his genius, he thought.
He not only ordered baby clothes, of course, he had ordered bibs, baby costumes, winter clothes, summer clothes… he had even ordered some custom made pajamas with bunny ears on the hood.
(Well, the bunny ears had been Yooho’s idea — yes, Yooho of all people. Jaegal Lin was pleased that his most trusted subordinate shared the same vision as he did.)
Since today was the beginning of winter, Jaegal Lin chose a snow white winter coat for his baby, the soft fur providing excellent warmth for Cheonhee and the blue and gold threads on the side adding an elegant flair.
Jaegal Lin moved with practiced hands, undressing baby Cheonhee (who was obedient as always — sometimes Jaegal Lin wondered if his disciple was an angel) and helping him put on the winter clothes.
When all was done, he looked at his handiwork and grinned broadly.
His baby looked amazing.
“Cheonhee, you're so cute,” he praised, pinching the soft cheeks.
“Bababa, Maasster~~”
Seeing Jin Cheonhee reach for him, asking for a hug, Jaegal Lin complied and took the baby into his embrace, enjoying the warmth of baby's body against his own.
“Cheonhee,” he mused, “having you as my disciple is truly… a blessing.”
“Ga, Ssss-No!” His disciple didn't seem to understand his words and was busy nuzzling against the crook of his neck, making Jaegal Lin smile.
“Alright alright, let's go see the snow,” he said, pampering and indulgence flowing through his eyes.
When he heard Jin Cheonhee laugh, Jaegal Lin's smile grew even wider.
His disciple must truly be an angel.
Once they were outside, Jaegal Lin squatted down, holding Jin Cheonhee in one hand and scooping up a ball of snow with the other.
“This is snow, Cheonhee,” he explained, bringing the ball of white ice closer to his disciple.
Jin Cheonhee seemed fascinated, his eyes as wide as saucers and a small hand tentatively reaching towards the snow.
However, in the last second, Cheonhee seemed to change his mind, retracting his hand and grasping Jaegal Lin's lapels tightly.
“…Mas,her,” Jin Cheonhee said softly, shaking his head.
“You don't want to touch it?” Jaegal Lin asked, smiling in amusement.
Cheonhee didn't say anything, but the look of unwillingness in his face explained everything.
“Come on, Cheonhee,” Jaegal Lin coaxed, “It's alright. The snow is harmless, it's soft, look,” he said, squeezing the snow in his hands.
Cheonhee stretched out his hand again, and Jaegal Lin brought the snow closer.
Slowly, as if afraid the white substance would suddenly pounce on him, Cheonhee put his small palm on the white surface and pinched the snow between two fingers.
Jaegal Lin watched in trepidation and amusement as his disciple frowned at the texture and coldness of the snow, shivering slightly and yet still patting the snow.
“…Do you like it?” He asked, unable to stop himself from smiling.
“Sno, Master,” Jin Cheonhee said, pointing at the pile of snow with his fingers.
“Yes, baby, it's snow,” Jaegal Lin nodded.
Suddenly, he had an idea.
Kneeling on the snow and placing Jin Cheonhee on his lap, Jaegal Lin grabbed a fistful of snow and rolled it between his palms, forming a ball. He placed the big ball on the ground and rolled another smaller one, placing it above the body.
“There, that's a snowman, Cheonhee,” he explained, bringing up the snowman closer to Cheonhee.
“Sno, maan?” Cheonhee asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Yes, Hee. A snowman,” Jaegal Lin took one of Jin Cheonhee's hands and placed it on the figure, watching as his disciple marvelled at his creation.
“Do you like it?” He asked, smiling when his disciple burst into giggles.
“Hee, it seems like you like it,” he observed, feeling a sense of pride when his disciple patted the snowman's head.
Since Jin Cheonhee liked it, he would make a glass casing and keep the snowman inside, so Cheonhee could look at it anytime he wanted…
“Like, like… Master!” Jin Cheonhee squealed, letting go of the snowman and hugging Jaegal Lin's arm, his round eyes curved like crescents as he cooed in satisfaction.
Previously Jaegal Lin didn't think he could get a heart attack from his disciple's antics, but now he had to reevaluate that thought.
How could his Hee be this cute?
Of course for his Hee, the number one in his heart wasn't the snowman…
“Are you saying you like me the most?” Jaegal Lin asked, the wideness of his smile was unbelievable.
“Like, Mashter~~” Jin Cheonhee said again, cooing and grinning.
“…”
Jaegal Lin calmly put he snowman on the ground and lifted baby Cheonhee up.
“Hee, you shouldn't say things like that…” he mused, placing his cheek next to Cheonhee's and rubbing it together. “I don't know what I'll do if you keep being this adorable….”
Jin Cheonhee didn't understand, of course, and simply smiled at his Master.
Jaegal Lin wanted to scream.
Truly, he could die a happy man now.
