Work Text:
Navia had insisted they invite Wriothesley and Chiori to their home for the holidays, and (even though Clorinde wasn't fighting) Clorinde agreed, so this is how she found herself here.
She was sitting on the couch beside Wriothesley, but she was barely listening to what Wriothesley was talking to her about, slowly sipping her tea. She was entranced by Navia, in all her beauty… Fair skin, blonde hair that seemed to glow in the lights like a halo, blue eyes that seemed to sparkle with delight. Clorinde couldn't look away.
Wriothesley cleared his throat. “Did you hear a word I said?”
“Hm? Oh… ah, yes,” Clorinde said, shaking her head to snap out of her trance.
Wriothesley only rolled his eyes. “Ya know, you could just invite her to sit next to you instead of ogling her like a starved puppy.”
Clorinde felt her cheeks warm a bit at that comparison. “... Apologies.”
Wriothesley shrugged, stating, “Doesn't matter. Can't expect you to focus when Navia is right there, can I?”
Clorinde didn't say anything in response. She caught Navia's eye, who smiled and switched her position, seeming to understand her silent communication. She plopped beside Clorinde, gently holding her hand, still talking to Chiori, who luckily didn't seem to notice or care about the change in position.
Clorinde gently touched their thighs together, feeling the need to be close to her beloved. Navia smiled fondly and slowly, trying not to alert anyone, sat in her lap.
Chiori made a face and groaned. “Seriously, did you think that would work? Stop trying to tiptoe around us, we know you're in love.” Wriothesley nodded beside them, drinking his tea.
Navia laughed nervously. “Sorry,” she said, dragging the word out. Clorinde awkwardly coughed, but neither made a move to get Navia off Clorinde’s lap.
Chiori scoffed, “I'm going to grab a drink. Preferably alcohol.” Wriothesley stood before she could, hurriedly saying, “Don't worry about it, Miss. Chiori. I need more tea anyway, I'll get you a glass.” Before Chiori could protest, Wriothesley was gone.
Navia and Clorinde didn't pay much attention to this interaction though, too focused on each other. They leaned in…
Chiori groaned and followed after Wriothesley, feeling her stomach twist at their romance. Couldn't they wait until after they left?
Seems they can't. Navia and Clorinde were slowly kissing, the action soft and sweet. They pulled away for a moment, Navia starting to giggle, and Clorinde couldn't help, but smile at her beautiful laugh. Clorinde loved the sound of her giggles, she would listen to it forever if she could.
They pressed their lips together again, this time for longer since Navia kept giggling into it. And for longer… and longer… Both of them felt their breath leaving them, but they couldn't seem to stop.
Before either of them could process it, it was too late. They died…? They died from suffocation. Their souls interweaved with the other and they started to ascend.
Chiori came back in with her drink before she noticed their souls- soul leaving. She sighed and shouted, “You just sat together on a couch! How did you even manage to do this?!”
The soul couldn't answer as it vanished through the ceiling.
