Summary
In the middle of WWII, Fritz, Jeremy, and Jeremy's mother escape the Nazis and flee to Russia, but become trapped by Russian winter. On the edge of starvation and with no where else to turn, a strange man appears and saves Fritz from a bear. He's massive, Russian, and clearly better at surviving the cold than the unprepared refugees. He also has precious supplies Fritz will need if they are to survive; but what will he give the strange man in return?
