Summary
Nina didn’t expect to follow James to his place and find another man in his bed.
“I thought you said you had a patient.” James says before Nina can think of what to do. He’s apparently just as surprised as she is.
“They have these newfangled things.” New guy holds up an iPhone. “I can monitor my patient from the comfort of my own home.”
“Funnily enough,” James puts his hands on his hips, “that’s the same gadget you could have used to text me and say you’d come home for the night.”
The guy smiles smugly. “If I’d texted you you wouldn’t have brought company.”
“You can’t just ambush people, House!” James growls. “Jesus. I’m so sorry about this, Nina.” He turns to her, speaking softly. “I had no idea he’d be here. You don’t have to stay.” He raises his arms placatingly. “He doesn’t have to stay. Whatever you’re comfortable with.”
