Smacking the modem again, Alex knew his efforts were fruitless. He reset the stupid thing four times now and nothing worked. His only option was smacking it, and that didn’t work either. Glancing out of the window he noticed the snow started coming down a little bit harder, but not enough to cause Internet issues, he didn’t think so
“Fucking hell.” He smacked the modem again, saying a silent prayer - but instead of coming back to life all of the lights went out. Dead.

or - Alex narrates books for Henry’s publishing company. Right as he was ready to submit his latest project, his Internet up and died. This leaves him with the only option - drive three hours to Henry’s cottage in the woods—in the middle of a snow storm.
