Summary
Day of the dead is a celebration in Latin America used to remember passed loved ones, throughout the festivities different activities take place depending on your region. One tradition stays the same, altars for your loved ones. Although each family makes theirs differently, the universal rule is the use of seven steps on which you will place marigolds, food, candles, flowers, incense, pan de muerto, religious imagery and most importantly, the photo of your loved one.
Día de Muertos takes place throughout three days.
November 1st, Day of the Angels. Used to Celebrate the kids and young souls lost.
November 2nd, Day of the Dead. Universal Day to honor and celebrate.
November 3rd, the gates of death close.
It is said during the festivities your loved ones may come and visit, their spirit amplified by the altar space. Some spirits may visit earlier. No matter which is the case, they must all leave by November 3rd, which is when the doors of death close.or
