Work Text:
“I don't want to kill you Wemmbu!” Zam yelled, blocking wemmbus swinging axe, chipping at the wood of the shield.
Wemmbu was bleeding out, his hair tousled and messy, the zam empire once so beautiful now destroyed by the purple one.
Though even with the anger zam felt with wemmbu for destroying his life's work, he couldn't find himself revengeful.
He was still in love with wemmbu, as much as he hated it, hated the fact he loved him more then his empire.
He wanted to have the urge to kill wemmbu with all his soul, but he couldn't. He wouldn't kill him.
As wemmbu slashed angrily into zam's shield over and over, panting aggressively as his breath was forced out of him.
He soon backed up, holding his axe low as he tried to catch his breath, zam looking at him with concern, fear and dread.
Wemmbu looked up at him. “What do you mean you don't want to kill me, you took everything!” He yelled back, his tail slashing into the ground.
Zam started back, hurt crawling over his face like a thousand spiders invading and digging into his skin.
“I-..” Zam struggled to force anything out of his throat, it hurt.
“I'm sorry wemmbu, this is all my fault.” Zam said, his eyes tearing up, his hands shakily hugged around himself as the tears fell from his tear ducts.
Wemmbu stared at him, he dropped the axe. He slowly approached the other carefully, a slight limp in his walk from the running and the slash in it.
He wrapped his arms around zam's waist, pulling him against his chest.
Zam's tears stained his shirt, wemmbu grimaced at the feeling of his shirt slowly getting wetter.
Zam cried out apologies to the other, wemmbu was tired of it, tired of this war. He lifted zam's chin to see the other.
He took in zam's glossy eyes, cupping his cheek gently, he then leaned in, locking lips with zam.
Zam's eyes widened at the sudden affection. His shaky hands went to wemmbus arms as he held on, kissing the other.
Their lips danced together, finding each others rhythm without much effort.
Wemmbu pulled away, looking at zam. “Just shut up.” He murmured. Zam could only answer with a slight nod.
Zam rested his head back in wemmbus chest gently, he felt terrible.
All he could wonder was what wemmbu was thinking
