Work Text:
It is a quiet day when Gion finds himself alone in their dorm's living room.
Livio isn't around, the older teen had excused himself earlier in the day, after confirming Gion has no plan to leave their shared residence for the rest of the day.
Shintarou had claimed earlier at breakfast that he has a project to be completed today, which translates to him holing up in his room until dinner at the earliest.
So it's just Gion here.
It is a sunny Sunday.
A day of rest from studies, council, or work.
Gion had taken a book, intending to take advantage of the free day to finish his reading on the window-side sofa, enjoying the warm sunlight. He makes himself comfortable with a cup of cappucino on the table.
Flipping to the nth page of the book, something solid and heavy hit his head with high speed. Knocking his head sideways, catching him off guard he lose his grip on the hardbound book.
"Hisss," the prince hisses in pain for the sharp edge has unfortunately landed on his toe, almost bruising the skin.
His involuntary sound is replied with a loud, somewhat haughty meow.
Oh yes, Gion has forgotten.
It's Gion and Augustine here, in the living room.
The kitten, just like his master, proceeds to make himself comfortable on the seat next to Gion, sniffing and patting the cushion.
Gion goes back to his book, letting Augustine do whatever he wants is the norm nowadays.
Augustine nudges at Gion.
Gion shifts, giving more room to the feline on the three-seater sofa.
Augustine pokes him again.
Gion shifts again.
Pokes.
Shifts.
This charade continues until Gion ends up finding himself somehow laying on the sofa, head resting on one of the throw pillows, bare feet resting on the other end of the furniture. An act he will find improper, but for Augustine that has make himself comfortable, Gion let it happens.
Just this once.
Augustine, visibly satisfied, climbed onto Gion's torso. Soft paws sink into the skin with each step forward. Once the gray creature decides.on the prime spot, he flexes his tiny paws, massaging or ‘making biscuits’ as Livio had dubbed, just below Gion's ribs.
Gion lets him and returns his focus to the book.
Half a page in and Augustine yowls, he is unsatisfied at the lack of attention. He swipes at the book, but it doesn't budge. He then headbutted the thick cover, the smart kitty frowns at the pain but decided it all is worth it when the book falls on Gion's face.
Gion gives up.
Shintarou once commented that the cat is as willful as its master, but Gion will never let the Japanese have the satisfaction of being right.
He puts the book aside, focusing his attention on the mischievous feline.
The Italian cards his finger through the grey furs, earning himself a thrilled purr and a very happy kitten curled up on his stomach, enjoying the sun and the body warmth.
They remain in the position for a while, with Gion enjoying the fluff and Augustine basking the affection.
Having had enough, Augustine stands up, avoiding the skillful fingers. Gion cracks open an eye that had unknowingly shut sometime earlier, observing the cat's antics.
Augustine languidly moves down from his stomach, settling between Gion's legs instead, that was parted further to accommodate the cat that has grown somewhat chunkier lately. Augustine stretches his body, then proceeds to licks his toebeans.
He is cleaning himself up.
Gion finds that absolutely adorable.
What a shame his phone isn't within reach, currently charging in his room, so Gion can only commit the moments into his mind.
Thank God for his extra strong memory that comes with high level of intelligence.
Augustine continues to clean himself, tossing amd turning around reaching every part of his furred body.
Augustine twists his body, attempting to reach his backside, and by doing so his front paw eventually ends up lightly gripping on Gion's thigh. Clinging to his owner for stability, the tiny paws flexes and Gion can feels each individual toe beans.
Gion's heart is metaphorically bursting.
Augustine then stretches out his hind leg, putting and resting it on Gion's own stretched thigh. Gion is wearing loose baggy pants, one he wouldn't usually wear but it's laundry day, and the pants are so large it rides up to his thigh when he lifts his leg, which he did to not disturb Augustine. The fur feels soft on his exposed skin.
Gion wonders if this is what heaven feels like.
Done, Augustine stands up while stretching his growing body, and turns around to settle down with his back on Gion's leg, fluffy head nuzzling on the exposed skin. The cat yawns before closing his eyes, completely relaxed in the presence of someone like Gion.
A bundle of grey loaf is purring and vibrating against Gion.
Gion yawns too.
He should finish the book, and drink the cup of coffee that must be cold by now. The sun feels warm on his face, and the purring from Augustine sends calming signal to his brain, and before Gion knows it, he eventually shuts his eyes, lulled into a blissful nap with sweet dream of warm sunshine and fluff.
