Work Text:
Hyunjin doesn’t know how today’s schedules managed to tie up everyone except for himself and Jisung, but it’s not like it’s an issue—not after the last time it happened, when Jisung’s body presented as an omega and his mind chose to be Hyunjin’s. It’s a happy accident, considering how few moments they’ve had truly to themselves recently. Quality pack time is necessary to maintain a healthy bond, but Hyunjin would argue that omega time is just as integral.
He has no complaints about it. He’ll take advantage while he can.
Jisung attacks him first, wandering into Hyunjin’s room with a blanket in one hand and a couple of wadded up shirts in the other. He throws himself onto Hyunjin’s mattress without a warning, settling in and offering up his best puppy-dog eyes.
“We have a few hours to ourselves,” he points out.
“Mhmm,” Hyunjin hums, taking a curious sniff of the air to see if he can determine what it is Jisung is going to ask of him—he doesn’t smell particularly aroused, so that already cancels out half of Hyunjin’s guesses.
Jisung pouts his lips. “I want to make a nest in the living room.”
“Ah,” Hyunjin says aloud, glancing back to the items Jisung brought with him—nesting materials. Of course he wants to build a nest. The only part that doesn’t make sense is—“The living room?”
His omega frowns. “The nesting room doesn’t have the big TV,” he argues. “I thought we could watch a movie in it after we build it.”
He can’t help the smile that overtakes his face at the thought. “That’s a good idea,” he agrees. Jisung’s scent sweetens, like he had needed Hyunjin’s acceptance to be on board with his own suggestion. Hyunjin wraps his arm around Jisung, grinning as the omega leans into his touch so naturally, and tugs at the pieces of clothing in his hand. “Did you already ransack the others’ bedrooms?”
Jisung grunts. “Just Seungmin’s, since it was on the way.”
“Then grab something from Jeongin’s and Yongbok’s,” he instructs, “I’ll take care of hyungs’ rooms.”
As easy as that, Jisung springs up. “Grab the hoodie Changbin wore home from the gym last night,” he demands, then disappears just as quickly as he had come through Hyunjin’s door.
What a presumptuous thing Hyunjin has on his hands.
He makes quick work of gathering things from the alpha’s rooms. He likes to think he’s gotten it down to an art with how often he raids their belongings for nest-building. He knows it’s an alpha thing to scent their den, he has an inkling their alphas do it for the sake of everything in their rooms to smell as strong as it can for instances just like this. It’s easy for him to walk in and locate items that bring optimal comfort to the nest (and Changbin’s used hoodie), already heavily doused in alpha pheromones, and so he’s in and out in no time even with three rooms to tackle.
He still makes it to the living room first even with the extra stop. He expected as much; Jisung is still a hesitant nest builder, carefully scouting out each item he passes and thinking diligently about whether or not it’s suitable for his space. Hyunjin has watched him snoop through the alpha’s rooms before at an almost snail-like pace. And even after all of his meticulous scavenging, he still comes to Hyunjin for advice with a majority of what he takes. He’s tried to remind Jisung that there’s no rulebook when it comes to nesting, that his self-imposed requirements don’t dictate what is or isn’t an acceptable nest, but he can’t deny the satisfaction he feels when his omega seeks him out for approval.
Like he knew Hyunjin was thinking about him, Jisung enters the room at that exact moment with an armful of materials. He drops everything on the couch and picks up one piece—a shirt he’s seen many of them wear, but a majority has been by Yongbok—and holds it out for inspection. “Ah, Hyunjinnie, will this work? It’s soft but it has these graphics on the front,” he frowns, “might be scratchy…”
Hyunjin wants to grab him, squeeze him, bite him until he’s squirming. Cuteness aggression, Chan referred to it as once.
“We won’t have to worry about that if we lay it face down,” he answers Jisung’s question first and foremost, then tacks on, “Let’s get the basics down first before we worry too much about that kind of thing.”
Jisung nods, glancing at the couch, and Hyunjin already knows what he’s going to say—“I want to use the cushions.”
He understands his desire for it—the couch is where they all spend most of their time, so their scents are embedded perfectly into the fabric. Jeongin has a thing about things being orderly and he might kill them if he sees the couch in disarray again, though. He would much rather not have any of their pack upset about their nest, so he gently redirects, “We have better ones in the nesting room, let’s grab those instead.”
The omega looks forlornly at the piece of furniture. Hyunjin adds, “We can build against the couch, so the cushions can be like a headrest if we want.”
Jisung lightens up immediately. “Ah, good idea,” he agrees, then without another peep, he treks down the hall toward the nesting room.
Hyunjin follows, and together, they carry out one of their larger mattress pads. It miraculously fits perfectly in the area right in front of the couch, and Hyunjin latently thinks of making it a permanent fixture before shaking the thought from his head—later.
They make another trip to grab a few pillows to cozy up the outer lining, and within minutes they have the perfect starter-nest ready for action.
He reaches into the pile of stuff he brought and holds out Changbin’s hoodie that Jisung specifically requested. “Here,” he says, letting go when Jisung finally grips it. “You lay the first piece since you wanted it so badly.”
“Thanks,” Jisung mumbles, bringing the article of clothing up to his mouth and breathing it in—sweet but freaky, he’s learned that from Minho—before letting out a noise of relief and placing it toward the middle. Doe eyes glance up at Hyunjin once he’s done, blinking. “Is this okay?”
Nesting has no rules, Hyunjin repeats in his mind. “It’s perfect,” he says out loud.
Jisung hums, and it’s like Hyunjin can see how his insides warm at the words. He glances at the rest of the pile Hyunjin grabbed it from, raising a brow. “You’ll place the next one?”
And so they continue the pattern, taking turns placing the various items around the nest until both of their respective piles have dwindled into nothing. They’re done much quicker than Hyunjin had anticipated, but that’s because Jisung only pauses to ask his opinion of his creative decisions every few pieces strewn in instead of after every one. Small victories.
He stands back to bask in its glory once they’re finished. It’s one of the best they’ve made. Perhaps it’s the smaller room making it feel more welcoming—another reason to ask Chan about making this more permanent.
“Only one thing missing,” Jisung says, tearing Hyunjin from standing back and admiring their work as he grabs him by the waist and all but shoves him onto the newly-cushioned floor.
“You can’t throw me like that, you fucking brat,” he scolds, but even he can tell how unthreatening the words sound. Jisung huffs a laugh and unceremoniously throws his own body down the same path he had just used with Hyunjin, landing half on top of the other omega.
“Now it’s perfect.” He sounds smug, wrapping his arms around Hyunjin’s middle and sighing in contentment. “Do you have the remote?”
Hyunjin scoffs, shoving at Jisung’s shoulder. “Did you see me grab it before you manhandled me into the nest?”
“Mm, I’ll use my phone,” he grunts in reply.
“So annoying,” Hyunjin mutters under his breath, draping his arm over Jisung’s shoulder where the younger omega has buried himself in his side. “Don’t turn on anything stupid.”
There’s a pause in which Hyunjin imagines Jisung rolling his eyes. “I have taste,” the omega argues as he begins scrolling.
They settle on a holiday-themed romantic comedy with good reviews after Hyunjin notices Jisung’s attention drawn to the sappy cover. He must be feeling particularly soft today, he concludes. Maybe it’s the colder weather contributing to his need for comfort—hence the big, warm nest in their living room floor. Jisung uses his phone to turn the lights down before he clicks play, and Hyunjin can’t help but get caught up in how cozy everything feels. This is the type of ambience that calls for a fireplace and hot chocolate, he thinks.
They probably still have some left over from last year in the cupboard. He would go check if he could be bothered to move, but he’s already settled where he is for now so it’s a no go. Maybe he’ll find it in himself to slip away if the movie gets boring.
“D’you think I could have one of the throw pillows?” Jisung asks as the opening sequence runs, not even looking up as he makes his request.
Hyunjin latches onto the corner of the nearest one. “Just one, or Jeongin will flip.”
Jisung hums an affirmative, immediately tucking the pillow up under his head, pressed into Hyunjin’s side. “He’ll like our nest, won’t he?”
“All of the alphas will,” Hyunjin reassures him, picking up a lock of his hair and dropping it mindlessly. “Is that what you were after? Was that why you wanted to build it in the middle of the house?”
“No. Just wanted the TV.” He curls up even more, almost resembling an armadillo burrowing into a ball. “And to spend time with you.”
Holy shit, he’s still not used to how easily Jisung just says these things now, can feel his cheeks swiftly heating up in response. It makes his chest constrict with something far more intense than mere cuteness aggression.
“We spend a lot of time together everyday,” he points out, trying to keep his voice from squeaking.
Jisung hums. “Not alone, though.”
His heart beats off rhythm. “So you don’t want everyone else in our nest.”
“I didn’t say that,” Jisung grunts, nudging his fist into Hyunjin’s side. “I just thought it would be nice to have some omega time in it first. They can come in later.”
Hyunjin can’t stand what feels like a white-hot spotlight burning on him. “You wanted me all to yourself,” he attempts to tease, to make Jisung feel a fraction of what he’s feeling.
“Yeah,” Jisung admits shamelessly, pinching Hyunjin’s hip. “Now shh, it’s starting.”
The first scene begins to play out, but Hyunjin’s mind is elsewhere. All of his thoughts have funneled to the omega with his head in his lap, but he finds that Jisung is just as entertaining to watch as anything you could throw on the television. He holds Hyunjin’s attention so wholly, so thoroughly that he just… zones out. Pays no mind to the movie that Jisung wanted to see so badly, couldn’t even tell you the main characters name after they’re a half hour in.
He’s already given up on the movie, and he’s accepted that. Jisung-watching is more productive anyway, and it will have a bigger pay off in the long run.
He grabs a piece of Jisung’s hair and begins twirling it between his fingers, finding amusement this way for ages. He’s been growing it out little by little, waiting longer and longer between haircuts. He’s nowhere near Felix’s length yet or even Hyunjin’s own, but the omega has entertained the idea of Jisung with locks to his shoulders—he would suit it, he thinks. Then again, there’s no look Hyunjin could conjure up that he wouldn’t suit.
Though he’s reluctant to stop playing with his hair, Jisung’s cheeks start looking particularly inviting. Hyunjin is a slave to his own desires as his hands trail down the side of his face, caressing the slope of his round, hamster-like cheeks. A couple fingers pinch just to test how soft and squeezable they are, and Hyunjin is not at all surprised to find that the answer to both is very much so. Jisung even lets out a cute, high-pitched squeak at the action, just like a tiny woodland creature.
“Stop,” he whines, tilting his head away from Hyunjin’s inquisitive hand. “You’re not even watching the movie.”
“No,” Hyunjin admits, because Jisung isn’t the only one who can be shameless. “I found something else to entertain me.”
“I’m not a toy,” Jisung mumbles, petulant, then louder, “You’re gonna end up distracting me.”
Hyunjin hums, pretending to be very against that idea. “It would be terrible if that were to happen,” he says, stroking Jisung’s jawline, scratching the underside of his chin. No matter how much he whines and complains about it, Jisung melts seamlessly into the touch.
“Hyung,” he pleads.
Oh, music to Hyunjin’s ears. Surely he didn’t think that would convince him to stop, did he? It only spurred him on, gave him more motivation to continue his ministrations.
Hyunjin can tell his will to argue is quickly diminishing, relaxing into Hyunjin’s side once again as he continues to pet him like a cat. He grins at the visible effect he’s having on his omega, pride swelling in his chest at the sight.
He traces his hand down Jisung’s neck, slowly trailing further and further down until he’s got his scent gland right under his fingertips. He strokes it only once, knowing how sensitive the area is, only intending to tease him just a little more but then something halts all of his plans.
A rumble buzzes underneath Jisung’s skin enough so that Hyunjin can feel it.
His fingers freeze, afraid to move lest he break the magic.
Jisung doesn’t move, like he’s lost in the sensation, this new sound he’s able to produce. Hyunjin watches him with rapt eyes, both because he wants to monitor him lest something crazy happen considering this is brand new and because he wants to capture every second of this to store away in his brain forever. Jisung is purring for the first time, and he’s doing it for him. He feels like he’s on cloud nine.
“You’re purring,” Hyunjin notes aloud with surprise.
He curses himself for speaking, because all it takes is the two words to make Jisung snap out of it, the rumbling abruptly coming to an end as the omega sits up straight. “No, I’m not!”
“You were,” Hyunjin states, fascinated by this new development, desperate to hear it again. “You started right after I did this—”
He touches Jisung’s scent gland again, and it’s like it’s a button that is pressed to instantly trigger another round of purrs. Jisung struggles to stop it this time, even after he’s managed to rid himself of the touch.
Hyunjin is in awe.
“Don’t do that!” Jisung scolds once he’s regained his bearings, covering his gland protectively.
“Why not?” Hyunjin pushes.
“Because it’s—I don’t know how I’m even doing it!”
“It’s a natural reaction,” he rushes to explain through his smug grinning. “That’s all it is. Nothing to be scared of.”
Jisung chews his lip, shrinking in a bit despite Hyunjin’s reassurances. “Don’t tell anyone, okay?”
How is Hyunjin meant to keep this glorious, perfect, life-changing moment all to himself? He’s already imagining the looks on the alphas’ faces when he informs them of what’s transpired, their excitement when he finds a way to show them this beautiful thing their baby omega can do. “But—why?”
“Because it’s embarrassing,” Jisung grumbles with a pout.
Outrageously wrong. “No, it isn’t,” he promises, perhaps a little too eagerly. “Seriously, Jisungie, baby, don’t be embarrassed—not about anything, but especially about this.”
“But…” the omega interjects, and Hyunjin can see him biting the inside of his own cheek with worry. “You’ve never… I don’t wanna… not before… ah, it’s so—”
Hyunjin reads his meaning very quickly. “You’re embarrassed because you’re the first one between us to do that,” he fills in the blanks.
“Kinda,” Jisung agrees sheepishly. “I mean, you’re the Head Omega, you know, and I don’t wanna—”
“Jisung,” Hyunjin says very seriously. “Do you know anything about purring?”
Jisung shrugs, shaking his head. “Only learned about it a little in school. The teacher said not every omega does it, and I didn’t think I would even be an omega anyway, so…”
So he didn’t bother paying attention to something that didn’t seem to concern him, like most adolescents tend to do. Hyunjin can’t blame him. He only has what knowledge he does because Chan bought up a bunch of books on omega behaviors after his presentation to educate himself about his newest pack member, and Hyunjin had been curious enough to snoop through them some nights when he joined the alpha in his bed. He glossed over the more nerve-wracking chapters—he feels grossed out when medical terms are used to describe sexual situations, even more so when it pertains to his own body—but he had been particularly enthralled by the ones about the more cozy side of things, such as nesting and scenting and—
“Purring,” he speaks aloud, adopting a gentle tone, “is an instinctual thing that can’t be forced no matter how hard anyone may try. It’s true that not all omegas do it, but we’re all equipped with the ability that lies dormant until the right conditions are met. For some that never happens, but for others it can be in response to stressful situations, as a self-soothing mechanism to calm their minds. A majority, though, credits their first purr to a time when they felt very comfortable and safe.”
Hyunjin pauses to let Jisung absorb the information; the omega’s eyes widen a few seconds in. “I think—um, the second one,” he stutters, “if that’s what you’re asking.”
He wasn’t asking, but Hyunjin smirks just the same. “I know that,” he clarifies, the conviction with which he says it washing Jisung’s cheeks a pretty pink. “You purring only tells me that I made you feel so secure that your body and brain decided to express your emotions for you. It’s actually the biggest compliment I have ever or could ever receive. I can live the rest of my life as an idol and still never receive anything that could even come close, so please don’t be ashamed of it. My insides are doing somersaults. Butterflies are fluttering in my stomach. I could go into cardiac arrest at any moment, Jisung, that’s how serious this is.”
“Gah, stop,” Jisung screeches, but he’s smiling now instead of cowering down. “You exaggerate too much.”
“I’ve not told a single lie,” he swears. “I’ll say the most humiliating stuff I can think of until you don’t feel embarrassed anymore.”
A scoff. “Not how that works.”
He pinches Jisung’s chubby cheek between two fingers. “I could smother you in kisses right now, Sungie. I want to just put you in my pocket, feed you bread crumbs and little drops of jelly every day to sustain you, then roll you up in a little blanket, tuck you into bed and kiss you goodnight.”
“You just sound like Minho-hyung now,” Jisung points out, and Hyunjin can’t say he’s wrong. He wanted to say something cringey and his brain automatically routed to Minho-esque. It’s weirder when it comes out of the alpha’s mouth, but Minho has no shame. “And this still sounds more embarrassing for me.”
He’s kind of right. Maybe he needs to try another approach. He reaches into the depths of his mind for his most mortifying memories, something Jisung wouldn’t know about. “The first time I had sex with Bin-hyung, I peed.”
In seconds, it’s abundantly clear that wasn’t the right path to take either. “What—no! How is that supposed to help, why would you—?”
“Jisungie, my sweet, sweet omega, who purrs for me so nicely,” Hyunjin begins, hoping to distract him from continuing—if all else fails, he can always cover his mouth, “please understand that this is one of the greatest gifts you could give me and I would really love if you could do it again for me, please.”
Jisung is cracking, Hyunjin can see it written all over his face. He has a hesitance to him that says he’s still undecided, somehow not fully convinced of Hyunjin’s desperation, but he can be patient, he swears. “I wasn’t even trying to do it,” he eventually voices, “so I don’t exactly know how to replicate it.”
Oh, but Hyunjin does. “You can’t force it,” he reminds him, “but outside factors have an input, like when I touched you here…”
He goes slowly this time, not wanting to spook Jisung when he’s feeling vulnerable. The omega doesn’t back away this time, even when Hyunjin’s hands are hovering just over his swollen little scent gland. Just one touch, and he’ll hear that glorious sound again…
The rumbling starts before he even makes contact.
“Oh, how sensitive,” Hyunjin remarks with glee, “Just the thought of it is enough, huh?”
Jisung doesn’t respond with words, instead staring at the hand that’s close-but-not-quite touching his gland with a pout visible in his eyes. Hyunjin doesn’t really feel up for teasing him anymore, not when the results of him giving into Jisung’s desire benefits them both, so he takes pity and strokes over the omega’s neck with gentle fingers.
The rumbling ramps up another notch as he does, Jisung’s eyes fluttering shut like he’s in bliss. Hyunjin feels like he’s right there with him, the soothing sound of his omega’s purrs enough to get him high. He can keep quiet about this if Jisung really wants him to, but it’s going to be difficult. Such a wonderful, beautiful, perfect thing is meant to be shared with the pack. He can already envision the alphas’ faces the first time they hear it, the excitement, the joy, the serenity—ahhh, he wants to tell them now!
“Think ’m gonna fall asleep,” Jisung slurs, blinking heavy eyelids up at him.
Hyunjin thinks he’s right, despite the fact that it’s still morning and they both only got out of bed a maximum of two hours ago. He doesn’t feel like he could fully fall asleep himself, but perhaps it would be nice to just rest. Neither of them can be blamed, not when the perfect lullaby is being pulled straight from Jisung’s chest. “Mm, me too.”
“Made me miss my movie,” he groans, digging his head into Hyunjin’s chest as if in retaliation.
“We’ll watch it together later,” Hyunjin promises. “I’ll even pay attention this time.”
“No, you won’t.”
No, he probably won’t.
♡
Hyunjin comes back to when he feels stirring against his chest.
Huh. He must’ve drifted off to sleep at some point, and judging by his short and foggy memory, it couldn’t have been very long after Jisung did. The powers of an omega’s purr. He peaks one eye open to check on the omega, finding a pair of big eyes already staring back at him.
“I think someone’s home,” he whispers.
Hyunjin reluctantly cracks open his other eye, taking stock of the room around them—everything seems to be in the same shape they left it in when they got into the nest. They’re not at the appropriate angle to see the door and check if anyone’s left their shoes, so Hyunjin doesn’t even make the attempt. He rolls onto his other side for a better vantage point, mindful of the body on top of him as he does, but he’s assaulted by a waft of air from his own movement, catching a new scent that answers everything for him.
“Yongbokkie,” he says aloud.
Footsteps sound from the kitchen, and then the alpha’s head appears in the doorway. “Oh, you’re up,” he says, brightening immediately. “I didn’t want to disturb you guys but I thought you might like some hot chocolate when you woke up. Do you want me to bring you both a mug?”
What a saint. Hyunjin could kiss him—and probably will later. “Yes, please.”
“Marshmallows in mine,” Jisung pipes up.
“Duh,” Felix deadpans, disappearing around the corner for only a moment just to reappear with two mugs a moment later, one with little white marshmallows peaking over the top. He comes closer until his feet are right at the edge of their nest, leaning over with both cups balanced carefully in his hands. “It’s still really hot, don’t burn yourselves.”
“Lixie always makes the best hot chocolate,” Hyunjin remarks, cupping his mug with both hands to absorb the warmth.
“Smells so gooood,” Jisung drawls, taking a dramatic whiff. “My favorite alpha, hands down.”
“Don’t say that,” he replies, grin reaching his eyes as his cheeks turn pink. “Wouldn’t want to make the others jealous.”
“They’re not here to hear it, are they?”
“Suppose not.” Felix doesn’t make any move to step away, hands in his pockets as he straightens his back. “Are you both feeling okay?”
Hyunjin purses his lips, unsure of why such a question has been brought up—Jisung mirrors the sentiment. “I feel fine,” he answers, earning a hum of agreement from the other omega.
“It’s just the nest in the living room—out of the ordinary but not unwelcome,” he rushes to reassure, “and the fact that I came home to both of you napping in it and it’s not even noon. Did you not sleep well last night?”
Yongbok is their resident worrier when it comes to any sort of sickness, likely because with their pack dynamics, if one goes down, they’ll all eventually go down with him. There are absolutely no health issues to worry about this time, but Hyunjin can’t assure him of that without exposing what Jisung asked him to keep a secret.
“Jisung suggested the living room so we could watch a movie,” Hyunjin tells him truthfully, hoping his sincerity here is enough to put his worries at ease. “We just got too comfortable and fell asleep, that’s all.”
“Hm,” Yongbok hums in acknowledgement, but the look he shoots between the two of them says he isn’t convinced. “Should we get you in with a doctor just in case? It might seem like nothing now, but Chan-hyung always says it’s better to check before something has a chance to get worse.”
“If it happens again, we can go, okay? One instance doesn’t warrant a doctor,” he compromises.
Yongbok’s hand slips out of his pocket with his phone in tow. “I’ll text Chan-hyung, just in case—”
“Oh my God, don’t,” Jisung interrupts with a frown. “We fell asleep because Hyunjin made me… purr.”
His fingers freeze where they had undoubtedly been typing a message to their leader, his brows shooting up. “You what?”
“I purred,” he repeats louder, then quickly tacks on, “Hyunjin made me!”
Is he trying to split the blame for something so blameless? Whatever, Hyunjin will gladly take credit for this, no persuasion needed. “I made him,” he corroborates seamlessly.
“He made you?”
“I was just trying to watch the movie, and he started petting me and we were already sitting really close together and then he touched me and—he forced it right out of me, like a siren.”
Hyunjin grins up at Yongbok, who seems to finally understand the situation. Now reassured that nothing is wrong, his focus is put where it should rightfully be. “Wait—you purred?!”
“Feels like you’re surrounded by a sweet-smelling cocoon of clouds and warmth,” Hyunjin explains in one breath, excited to finally express it aloud; it had been weighing on him heavy, even if it had only happened a couple hours ago and he had been asleep for more than half of that time. “I wasn’t even tired, but it lulled me right to sleep. Best rest of my life.”
“Oh my God.” The alpha resumes tapping on his phone screen.
“What are you doing?”
“Texting Chan-hyung,” he answers without looking up. “He needs to know as soon as possible, he’s going to be so excited.”
“No, no texting anyone,” Jisung counters, “We can tell them when they come home. I don’t need five alphas rushing back to smother me.”
“Not at the same time, at least,” Hyunjin throws in, earning an elbow in the side. “Felix, phone down, butt in nest,” the younger commands.
Yongbok’s eyes grow wide with hopefulness. “I can come into your nest?”
“If you delete whatever you were about to send to our alpha.”
“No brainer.” Yongbok throws his phone carelessly to the couch, stepping tentatively into their nest. His caution goes through the window as soon as he gets to Jisung’s side, plopping gracelessly onto the mattress pad and pressing his ear to the omega’s chest. “Can you do it for me right now?”
Jisung sighs, exasperated. “I can’t force it.”
“You said Hyunjin made you,” the alpha reasons.
“He did,” Jisung swears, “but that was an accident, and there’s no guarantee it would work again.”
Unfortunately true. It’s fine, Hyunjin’s brain has already been cycling through the memory on loop, looking for every detail he can muster so he has a higher chance of recreating it. He’s not sure what criteria must be met for it to happen, but he’s already theorizing and conjuring up experiments to find the easiest way to replicate it.
Still—“It’s not failed yet,” Hyunjin chimes in helpfully.
“Try it,” Yongbok urges.
“I want to watch my movie!”
Maybe they’re coming on too strong. Hyunjin takes one glance at the omega to observe his current state, finding the tiniest hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. A sniff, just to be sure—pure joy, not a single sour note to taint it. So easy to read, but it’s cute how he’ll still try to put them on. He’s enjoying this through all of his exaggerated, faux-annoyance, but reacting is half the fun of being teased. Hyunjin won’t put a damper on his good time.
“Turn the movie back on,” Hyunjin coaxes.
Jisung digs through all of the blankets and pillows until he recovers his phone, tapping a couple times until he’s got his movie back on the screen. “Are you going to watch it this time?”
“I’ll try,” he neither confirms nor denies.
“But can’t we just, like, try this first?” Yongbok pouts up at the two of them, similar to the one Jisung had pulled on Hyunjin earlier. Sunshine twins or sunshine brats, he’s not sure. “One little purr and I’ll be set, swear.”
“Let’s watch the movie,” Hyunjin decides for them, deepening Yongbok’s frown but increasing Jisung’s boldness—he sticks his tongue at the alpha below him. Yongbok does it back, but they’re a little too close and they end up with their tongues touching for only a second but it’s enough shock for them to whip their heads apart.
He takes advantage of the distraction and sneaks his hand back to Jisung’s neck. His defenses have been lowered just enough for it to work yet again, the press of Hyunjin’s fingertip into his scent gland causing a low purr to erupt.
Yongbok stops abruptly. “Oh my God, was that—”
“Hyung!” Jisung yells, scandalized.
One of hopefully many successful experiments, now completed. “Sorry,” Hyunjin apologizes just to be polite.
“Do it again,” Yongbok pleads.
“Hey, you said just one—”
“That was before I heard it! Besides, that was barely long enough to get the full effect.”
Their arguing continues; Hyunjin steals Jisung’s phone. “Let’s watch the movie,” he declares once more, resting his hand on Jisung’s shoulder, just close enough to feel like a threat. “And whatever happens, happens.”
“Bully,” Jisung mutters.
Hyunjin kisses the top of his head and presses play.
