How exactly Skrain Dukat managed to get himself into the middle of an obsidian order op was one of the little mysteries of the universe that likely had an utterly banal answer. The kind that would have Kelas rubbing his temples in exasperation almost as much as his mere presence was. Beyond being personally repulsive the man was utterly ruining the mission.
Tain had ordered a team to infiltrate a nightclub and bring one of the partygoers, a drug dealer in this case, in for questioning. Routine enough, and Kelas was along to ensure nothing went wrong with the agents they were using to incapacitate the man. Something which was only a concern because they were supposed to figure out who his suppliers were so the investigation into dismantling the group responsible could move forward.
Now instead of the club being a cheerful den of sedition and fornication they had a general's son prancing around making all of the criminals nervous.
“Kelas, you do have an ample supply on hand, yes?” Garak asked.
“Of what? Because I certainly am running out of patience,” Kelas countered. He’d definitely missed something being said. The other agents accompanying Garak laughed softly.
“Something to neutralize the Dukat brat with. I’m afraid what I have on hand would make a mess,” Garak said smoothly. He was definitely stroking the hilt of one of the knives hidden in his sleeve. He said it lightly, as if it were a joke, but Kelas knew him well enough to understand the tone implied his distaste for a mess wasn’t likely to persist for long.
Kelas didn’t honestly know why Garak had such a specific and seemingly personal distaste for Dukat. The man was generally objectionable, but there was a bitter edge to the younger man's hate that couldn’t have come from that alone. Not that it particularly mattered beyond the fact that it might cause Garak to compromise the mission by killing the idiot.
“I’ll… handle him,” Kelas said after a moment. It was galling to have to get hands on when he’d only been meant to act as an observer so long as no medical emergencies occurred. Now he was going to have to cause one.
