Work Text:
It had been a month since his arrival at the Reserve and things couldn’t have honestly been better.
He spent most of his days following Charlie around and helping him and the other handlers when he could, trying not to be a burden.
At night, they came back to the cabin, had dinner together, and just…talked, a lot.
They even started to share Charlie’s bed, a couple of weeks after his arrival. They just talked until they fell asleep and nothing more - they were adamant about wanting to take everything very slow- but it still meant everything.
It was the best sleep of Draco’s life.
And he was getting used to waking up in Charlie’s arms: it gave him a sense of safety and a feeling of home that he hadn't felt before, not even at Malfoy’s Manor.
That morning, though, he woke up in an empty bed, something that had never happened during the whole time he and Charlie had been sharing.
Confused and a little bit worried he went looking for Charlie, surprised to find him in front of the fireplace, still in his pajama pants.
When he noticed Draco, he smiled at him.
-Hey, Draco.- he said, taking a step towards him. -Sorry if I woke you up, I was talking to my mother.-
Draco gave him a little smile as well.
-It’s alright. I was wondering where you had gone.-
Charlie’s smile widened, clearly affected by the younger wizard’s words.
-And now you found me. By the way, there is something I have been meaning to ask you.-
Draco looked at him, eyes filled with curiosity.
-What is it, Charlie?-
-I have to go back home for a while, to visit my family. I hadn’t been home in a long time and with everything that happened during the war, I just…they need me there, that’s all.-
Draco nodded, but his heart lost a beat. He had just found Charlie, he didn’t want to lose him already. Of course, it would have just been for a while, and Charlie needed to go, but still he…he was going to miss him. A lot.
-Of course. I understand perfectly. Do you know already when you will be leaving?-
Charlie brought one of his hands to his hair, probably trying to fix it, but only making a bigger mess out of it.
-Actually, that’s what I wanted to ask you. Would you like to come with me?-
Draco couldn’t believe his ears. That could definitely not be true.
-Come with you? To the Burrow? To visit your family?-
Charlie nodded.
-Yes. I really don’t want to part from you right now. And my mother would be happy to meet you.-
Draco was shocked: was Charlie really asking him to go with him to see his family? And was Draco really that thrilled about spending time with the Weasleys?? Of course, it was only because of Charlie, but still, it was something new for him.
-Are…are you sure about it? I don’t think everyone in your family would be thrilled to have me there, especially because of the war.-
Charlie smiled in the way that always made Draco’s heart lose a beat and took his hands, caressing their backs gently with his thumbs.
-I am sure. My mother already told me that everyone would be pleased to meet you. Well, maybe not Ron, but there’s not much we can do about it.-
Draco laughed a little, nodding slowly.
-Yes, you are definitely right about that.-
Charlie smiled, bringing one of Draco’s hands to his lips, and kissing it gently. Draco’s heart was beating so fast that he thought he would have died.
-So? What do you say? Will you come with me?-
And Draco simply couldn’t deny him anything when he looked at him like that.
***
Draco started to regret it the moment he stepped inside the Burrow from its front door.
He planned to just never let go of Charlie’s hand, politely greet everyone, and then pretend to not exist for the rest of their stay, but he soon found out that the universe had other plans for him.
When they finally got inside, Charlie let go of his hand - the bloody traitor- to hug his family members and friends, who were all greeting him, and Draco was left there standing, not really knowing what to do.
Then Molly Weasley hugged him, and he froze for a whole minute before, tentatively, hugging her back.
-Draco, dear, we are so glad to have you here! It’s so nice to see you again. Oh, poor boy, you are all skin and bones, has Charlie been feeding you? Do not worry, I will take good care of you now. Starting with dinner! Leave your things there honey, you can bring them to Charlie’s room later.-
Draco simply nodded, a little bit overwhelmed, and it took Charlie a whole minute to come to his rescue.
-Mom, please, let him breathe. Draco is not used to family dinners as loud as ours, remember? It’ll take him a second to get accustomed to this.-
Molly simply looked at her son, hands on her hips.
-Of course, I know! I surely don’t expect him to be the soul of the party right away. But still, I want to make sure he has everything he needs. And he must be starving, isn’t that right darling?-
It really wasn’t, but Draco didn’t want to upset her.
-Of course. Thank you so much, Mrs. Weasley. For your hospitality as well.-
Molly smiled.
-Please, dear, call me Molly! You are family now!-
Draco nodded again, blushing a little bit, grateful for the fact that Charlie had grabbed his hand once again.
-Come on.- the redhead whispered into his ear. -Let’s meet everyone.-
***
It was a disaster. Draco wasn’t good with people, like at all, and in the dining room, there were at least twenty of them.
It was clear every Weasley had a soulmate or a partner, and they were all there that day apparently. Draco hoped they were just visiting and he wouldn’t have had to deal with them every day.
Since he was a Malfoy, he pretended to be perfectly comfortable, putting on his usual facade of confidence.
No one - apart from Ronald- seemed bothered to see him there, so Draco politely introduced himself to the people he didn’t know.
There was Bill, Charlie’s older brother, with his wife Fleur -who Draco remembered from the Triwizard tournament- who worked at the Gringott and seemed nice enough.
Then, there was Percy, the first of Charlie’s youngest brothers. Draco already knew him because he had met him in Hogwarts, but he was surprised to learn that he was engaged to Oliver Wood, who he also remembered since he was the Gryffindor’s quidditch team’s captain, who was now a quite popular quidditch player. Draco may or may have not had a little crush on him during his first year at Hogwarts. Apparently, Gryffindor’s quidditch players were exactly his type.
He then met George, who used to have a twin who died in the war, and his girlfriend, Angelina.
They were both very nice to him, saying they knew how much he had helped during the war, making him feel relieved. He was worried they could have blamed him for the loss of his brother since he had been a Death Eater.
Of course, he knew the remaining members of the Weasley family very well. Ronald and his mudblood girlfriend Granger, and Ginny, who was dating Potter.
Greeting them was quite awkward, but nobody complained about his presence there and he was grateful about Charlie’s presence by his side.
Dinner was quite nice, everybody was talking over each other, so Draco got away with staying completely silent, answering the occasional questions from Molly, from Mr. Weasley, or talking to Charlie.
After dinner, they all helped to clean the table -Draco was really surprised when they didn’t use magic to do so, but he did his best to help - and then some of them went to the living room to simply talk a bit before going to bed.
Of course, there wasn’t enough space for everyone to sit, so most people were sitting on their partner’s lap, and so did Draco, feeling very comfortable with Charlie’s arms wrapped around his waist.
They mostly discussed silly topics for a good ten minutes, before everyone’s attention suddenly turned to Draco and Charlie.
-So, Charlie, - Ron asked, his voice suddenly serious - How the hell did you end up with Malfoy as your soulmate?!-
It wasn’t really a question one could answer, since deciding your soulmate was up to fate, but Charlie tightened his hold on Draco and smiled.
-If what you really mean to ask is “How do you put up with him?”, the answer is that he is amazing. Well, he has his flaws of course, but yeah, overall I’d say he’s pretty amazing.-
-Hey.- Draco replied, offended, trying to hide the red on his cheeks -What flaws are you talking about, Weasley?-
Charlie laughed, leaving a kiss on Draco’s neck that didn’t help at all with his redness.
-Well, first of all, you are too uptight. Also, you are very, very clingy.-
Ron looked horrified with that discovery, but Draco had forgotten all about his presence there.
-Clingy? I don’t remember you ever complaining about it. On the contrary, you are always the one who starts physical touch.-
Charlie laughed.
-Alright, you do have a point, maybe it’s not a flaw.-
-Good. Say something like that one more time and I’ll make you sleep on the floor.-
That made everyone in the room laugh, and Draco blushed even more.
-Well, would you look at that? You two look like a married couple already.-
-Oh, shut up Bill.-
But at that point, Charlie was laughing as well, and a little smile appeared on Draco’s face too. Well, he thought to himself, this isn’t too bad.
***
They got into Charlie’s room less than an hour later, ready to call it a day. The situation was a little bit awkward since Draco usually never changed in front of Charlie - they hadn’t even kissed yet, for Salazar’s sake- and now he didn’t really have a choice, since the room didn’t have a private bathroom.
Charlie changed really quickly, taking off his muggle clothes and wearing only pajama pants, and he got into bed immediately after he was done, a grin on his face and his eyes on Draco.
The younger wizard blushed, starting to take off his robes as quickly as he could, and wearing his pajamas just as fast, trying to not focus too much on how Charlie was so obviously checking him out.
He wasn’t even trying to hide it, the asshole.
When he got into bed with Charlie it took the red-head not even a second to wrap his arms around his waist, his lips leaving a sweet kiss on his neck.
-You are so gorgeous, Draco.-
The blonde shivered, trying to ignore the way Charlie’s naked chest made him feel. Weasley always slept half naked, but Merlin, Draco didn’t think he would have ever gotten used to it.
-Thank you.- he said, his cheeks completely red. -You are even more gorgeous.-
Charlie smiled, leaving a kiss on his cheek.
-Adorable.-
Draco became even redder if that was possible.
-Shut your bloody mouth, Weasley.-
Charlie just laughed, kissing his cheek one last time.
-So, did you enjoy the dinner? I know this is very different from what you are used to, and that my family can be a little bit too much, but they were all delighted to have you here, I can assure you that.-
Draco smiled, turning around to rest his head on the crook of Charlie’s neck.
-Yes, I’ll admit it was very different from what I’m used to. But it wasn’t that bad. I like your mother.-
Charlie literally lit up hearing those words.
-That makes me so, so happy. And trust me, she likes you too, a lot.-
Draco gave him another little smile, snuggling closer to him.
-I’ll have to introduce you to my mother as well, sooner or later.-
Charlie’s smile when he heard those words was so bright that it could have lit up an entire city.
-I would love that.-
-Good.-
And after a last kiss on Draco’s hair, they both fell asleep, enjoying the feeling of the other’s arms around their body.
***
When Draco woke up, he found himself still wrapped in the warm embrace of his boyfriend’s arms, and he truly couldn’t have felt happier.
He was just about to snuggle closer and fall back asleep, ready to enjoy that warmth a little longer, when he felt Charlie gently pull him away and start to get up.
-Where are you going?-
He asked, his voice still a little hoarse from just waking up, his gray eyes trying to meet Charlie’s.
-’ Morning, love. I have to go to town to deal with some bureaucratic stuff on behalf of the reserve. I’ll be back for lunch, you should rest a little longer.-
Charlie’s hand was now playing with Draco’s hair, while the younger wizard was staring horrified at him.
-You are going to leave me alone with your family?!-
Charlie laughed at the utter shock on his soulmate’s face, finding the way his boyfriend was clearly overreacting a little bit funny.
-You’ll be fine. You met everyone already, and most of them like you a lot. Everything will be great.-
Draco shook his head.
-No, you can’t leave me! I need you! Charlie, please…-
Charlie smiled, gently taking one of his hands into his and squeezing it delicately.
-You’ll do just fine, Draco. You don’t even have to go downstairs if you don’t feel like it, but whatever you do, I’m sure you will have no issues. My family likes you. They will not make you feel unease, I promise.-
Draco looked at him, still not very convinced.
-Please don’t abandon me.-
He said in a whisper, in his best pleading voice. In the previous moment, he had started to lean in, almost unconsciously and now he was basically talking on Charlie’s lips.
-Stay.-
He wasn’t sure about who closed the distance between their lips after that last word, but just a second later they were kissing and Draco had his hands in Charlie’s hair, holding him tight.
Even if it was a quite emotional kiss, it didn’t lack passion, proving to them both just how long they’d been waiting for that.
A moment later, Charlie was on top of him, pinning him gently to the bed, their mouths still joined as Draco caressed Charlie’s chest with his fingers.
His hand found the spot where he knew, even with his eyes closed, Charlie’s soulmate mark was and his fingers traced that single word gently, making Charlie sigh in his mouth.
They parted a few seconds later, with Charlie’s hands still cupping Draco’s face, their gazes still locked into each other.
Draco kissed him again, this time with less urgency, but still quite passionately, holding Charlie as close as he physically could.
Then Charlie bit his lower lip and he moaned.
-Is this a not-too-subtle way to try to convince me to stay?-
Charlie asked him when they parted, caressing his cheek gently.
Draco looked at him with a grin, quite satisfied with himself because of how flustered Charlie looked after their kiss.
-Is it working?-
He asked, a mischievous smile on his face before he leaned in again, kissing Charlie a third time, this time really kissing him, his only intention was to seduce him until he was convinced to not leave him with his family alone and to stay there, with him, possibly to spend the whole day making out.
And He really thought it was working, for a minute or so, but then Charles pulled away and Draco pouted.
-It would be. It would be working really, really well, but unfortunately, I really have to do this task.-
Charlie sighed, holding Draco closer before kissing him one last time.
-But I promise you Draco, I can’t wait to be back so we can continue this conversation.-
Draco smirked, finally letting his boyfriend go, looking at him as he started to get dressed.
-Fine, you win. I will hang out with your family.-
Charlie smiled, caressing Draco’s cheek one last time before heading for the door.
-I’m sure you will be great. See you at lunch!-
Draco watched him leave, sighed, and let himself fall back on the bed.
It would have been a long morning.
***
Well, it could have been worse. The morning went by pretty quickly, with not too many social interactions for him to handle.
When he went down for breakfast, only a few minutes after Charlie left, the only one present in the kitchen was Molly, who gave him a huge smile.
-Draco, dear, good morning! Did you sleep well?-
Draco nodded slowly, noticing how the woman was busy making breakfast for everyone. Draco had no experience with house chores, and he truly disliked doing them, but he knew that he was already on thin ice with the Weasleys, considering his dark past, so he decided to offer his help.
-Can I do anything to help you? I must warn you, though, that I’m a terrible cook.-
Molly smiled at him with a spark in her eyes, looking very pleased with that request.
-How nice of you to ask, dear. Of course, you can help! Since you just said you are not good at cooking, why don’t you set the table? There will be only nine of us this morning, because Bill and Fleur always go home for the night, and Arthur, Percy, and Charlie have to work. But of course, you probably already knew about Charlie. I’m sure he wouldn’t leave without telling you.-
Draco blushed a little and started to set the table: he still had to get used to everyone being so…involved, to know about everyone’s routine and talk so much about his personal life.
Those things usually did not happen at Malfoy’s manor.
He and Molly chatted a little as they worked and one by one, the other guests and members of the family started to join them, lifting from Draco’s shoulder the burden of being the one to talk.
Breakfast went by quickly and quite nicely - with Ronald being the only one still hostile towards him- and then nothing major happened until lunch.
Draco spent the morning helping out when everyone was requested to and chatting with some of the people there. Mostly, he got along with Oliver Wood and Angelina, because they talked about quidditch, something Draco still loved very much.
Oliver even told him that some afternoons, when the weather allowed it, the Weasleys and some friends managed to play real quidditch matches, with two teams and everything.
Draco really hoped they would have kept doing it because he would have loved to play.
When the time for lunch came, everyone was back. Bill and Fleur, Arthur, Percy, and of course, Charlie.
Draco was happy to see him - even if he was still a little offended, he had been left alone after all- so he went outside to greet him, taking advantage of the fact that his family was mostly inside to kiss him.
Charlie kissed him back, holding him close, his arms around Draco’s waist and when they parted he was smiling very brightly.
-Well, hello.-
Draco rolled his eyes, but he was smiling as well.
-Hi. I’m still mad at you just so you know.-
Charlie laughed and hugged him even tighter, lowering his mouth to whisper in Draco’s ear.
-I’ll make it up to you later.-
Draco shivered, and they both headed inside.
It would have been a very long day.
***
Lunch went even better than breakfast, mostly because Charlie was there, but also because there were more people, so Draco was able to chat less, letting the others do the talking.
Honestly, he just wanted to go back to Charlie’s room, either to spend some quality time with his boyfriend or simply to relax alone, possibly by reading a good book.
But at the Burrow, one could never hope for anything that involved quiet and loneliness.
When they were all done eating everyone except for Molly and Arthur gathered in the living room, in a sort of conspiratorial way that made Draco tense: they were definitely planning something, and Draco was afraid it would have not been something good, especially because Percy looked nervous as well.
To his surprise, Oliver was the one to start talking.
-Ladies and Gentlemen, everything is confirmed for tonight. Our guests will be here after dinner so you will all have to be ready. We’ll sort out the technicalities later.-
Percy rolled his eyes, clearly not happy about it.
-I still think this is a bad idea.-
Oliver simply smiled at him, and then kissed one of Percy’s hands, holding him closer as the ex-Head Boy turned red.
-I know, but you will have to trust me on this. It will be great.-
Percy just sighed, while everyone around them started chatting in excitement.
Draco turned his head to look at Charlie.
-What’s this about?-
Charlie seemed a little bit surprised.
-You don’t know yet? I surely won’t spoil it for you then. It will be a surprise.-
Draco rolled his eyes at him.
-Charlie, come on.-
But Charlie just smirked, grabbing Draco’s hand before turning to leave the room.
-See you later, guys. I think I will go take a nap.-
Thankfully no one teased him, even if it was clear that Draco was following him to his room, making the younger wizard feel very grateful.
When they finally closed the door behind them, Charlie didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around Draco, smiling as he leaned in.
-We have a conversation to finish.-
He murmured on his lips, and Draco really could not complain as he kissed him, the desire of that morning not forgotten, and he let his hands find Charlie’s hair, playing with his curls.
They parted after a few moments, Charlie’s lips now brushing Draco’s neck, his breath giving the boy shivers as he spoke.
-Seriously though. Where did you learn to kiss like that? Sorry for my bluntness, but I assumed for some reason that you weren’t really…experienced, on this sort of stuff.-
Draco shrugged, his gaze still holding Charlie’s.
-Well, since I knew you were older than me, I knew you’d probably have a lot of experience. I didn’t want to be inadequate, so during my sixth year at Hogwarts, I started to…experiment, with other guys. I’ve never dated anyone, though.-
Charlie looked at him, nodding slowly.
-I see.-
He simply said.
Draco looked at him, smirking.
-Weasley, don’t tell me you are jealous.-
Charlie looked away and Draco could have sworn that he was embarrassed.
-I mean, no, it’s all in the past. And I probably had even more one-night stands than you did, but still, now, as your soulmate, I can’t help but wish to have been your first.-
Draco smirked again, caressing Charlie’s hair slowly.
-I said I started to experiment, but I never said I did everything. There are some things you can still do to me first.-
Charlie’s smile was as bright as day as he held Draco even closer if it was possible.
-Mh, can’t wait to find out about those. And I’ll admit it, I was a little bit jealous.-
Draco smiled, his hand still playing with Charlie’s hair gently.
-You are a dumbass. You are my soulmate and I don’t want anyone else. The past is the past.-
He kissed Charlie gently, looking at him with a raised eyebrow when they parted.
-And besides, you are one to talk. You are twenty-six, I bet you’ve had plenty of experience.-
Charlie sighed, kissing Draco’s neck gently.
-Well, yes. Especially when I was younger. As you know my word is so vague that anyone could have been my soulmate, so for a while, I was pretty sure I would have never found them. Found you. So yeah, I fucked around quite a lot but never had anything serious. After I moved to Romania, I focused on my dragons so I started to have fewer and fewer one-night stands, like one every couple of months. And in the last three years, since I found out about the possibility of you being my soulmate, it was even less than that.-
Draco kept caressing him, a little bit caught by surprise. Now he felt self-conscious about his own experience.
He didn’t want to disappoint Charlie when they would have actually started to get intimate, and the little experience he had couldn’t be compared to Charlie’s.
His boyfriend seemed to realize what he was thinking about, reading his mind like he always seemed to do.
-Do not start overthinking, darling. I do not care about your experience or the lack of it. If we ever decide to move things forward we will take things slow. And besides, I love you. I’m sure that it would be the best sex ever just because it would be with you.-
Draco smiled and leaned in to speak in his ear.
-Why don’t we try out that theory then?-
***
That evening Draco woke up with Charlie caressing his hair, trying to wake him up gently.
He sat up, a little bit confused.
-What time is it? Did I sleep all afternoon?-
Charlie chuckled, his hand still caressing his boyfriend’s hair.
-Most of it, yes. Dinner is ready and my mother would totally freak out if we missed it.-
Draco nodded, getting finally up and looking for some clothes to put on.
-I guess I was pretty tired.-
Charlie grinned, hugging him from behind and leaving a soft kiss on his shoulder.
-Mh, yes, that would be my fault.-
Draco rolled his eyes, trying to hide the fact that he was actually smiling.
-Get dressed, come on.-
Charlie kissed him one last time and then did exactly as he was told, so that five minutes later they were both downstairs, sitting at the dining table.
This time though people weren’t going to just let them be and Charlie’s siblings made up for all the teasing they didn’t give them when they disappeared for their “nap”.
After some not-too-clever innuendos - thankfully Mrs.Weasley was still in the kitchen- the youngest Weasley spoke up, loud enough for the whole table to hear, with a shit-eating grin.
-What’s that on your neck, Draco?-
Since he couldn’t see himself -no mirrors in the dining room - Draco could only guess, but he was almost sure that Charlie had given him a hickey.
More than one, actually, but he hoped that the others were covered by his shirt.
He wasn’t going to tell her that, though.
-I don’t know. Maybe you have bed bugs.-
-Oh, sure and their name is Charlie.-
All the siblings started laughing, ignoring Draco’s death glare.
Charlie was smiling too, but he tried to hide it, wrapping one arm around Draco.
-Come on, give us a break.-
-No way. We all went through this sort of teasing. You are no exception.-
-Exactly!- Ron shouted. -Remember when Wood came down for breakfast with hickeys all over his neck? We didn’t let Percy live it down for weeks!-
The Weasley was now redder than his hair, trying to hide his face in his hands.
From that moment on, the siblings started to tease each other in an endless loop, making Draco very grateful that the attention wasn't focused on him anymore.
***
After dinner, Draco followed everyone outside.
They had all waited for Molly and Arthur to fall asleep before heading out - which Draco thought was a little suspicious- and when they got outside their “guests” were already there.
He wasn’t surprised to see Longbottom and Lovegood there, knowing how close they were with the whole family, but he was surprised to hear what they were going to do. He was the only one to not know, apparently.
-Everyone!- Wood declared, his grin really wide on his face. -The team is letting us use the field and the equipment tonight, so we are playing quidditch!-
Draco was very surprised the team trusted them that much, but Angelina and Oliver were great players so they probably managed to convince them.
-We need to apparate there. Let’s split into couples.-
So they did, and Draco grabbed Charlie’s arm, who disapparated them both.
They all got there at the same time, and Wood - always the captain- called them all around him.
-We have to split into teams and choose positions. Remember that some of us have way more experience than others, so let’s try to keep things balanced.-
It took them a while -and a lot of fighting- but in the end teams were made.
The first team was: Oliver as a keeper (of course), Charlie as a seeker (since there were a lot of people who played rarely, Harry had agreed to be a chaser), and Percy as a beater (they at least let him play with his boyfriend), George as the other beater, Angelina as a chaser, and Neville and Luna as the other chasers.
The second team was: Ron as the keeper, Draco as a seeker, Harry, Ginny, and Hermione as chasers, and Fleur and Bill as beaters.
Oliver gave everyone a broom and then set the balls free, snitch included.
They all started to fly.
The game went well, the teams clearly worked together because after an hour the score was 100 each, they were perfectly even.
Draco and Charlie had gotten close to getting the snitch a couple of times, but now they had both lost sight of it.
Finally, Draco saw it: it was flying on the other end of the stadium, next to where Potter was flying, Quaffle under his arm.
He heard Wood cheer after he stopped it from scoring, then started to fly towards the snitch, determined to catch it now that they were even.
He heard movement by his side and of course, Charlie was there, shoulder against his as they both flew towards the golden snitch.
-Give up, Malfoy. I almost became a professional seeker after school. There’s no way you will beat me.-
Draco rolled his eyes.
-You wish, Weasley.-
He simply said, flying even faster.
But Charlie was, damn him, truly a wonderful player and was already ahead of him.
Draco tried to catch up with him, but Charlie was already too far, getting closer to the snitch.
And that’s when Draco noticed.
A bludger was flying in Charlie’s direction, and it would have surely hitten him.
Draco called his name in warning, but Charlie didn’t hear, and the bludger was getting too close until--
Until Percy Weasley hit it, sending it far away, and Charlie was able to safely get the snitch the next instant.
Draco’s team had lost.
When they got down, Draco immediately saw Wood running in Percy’s direction.
-Perce! You were brilliant! We won thanks to you!-
He could hear Charlie complain about how he was the one to catch the snitch, but Wood wasn’t listening, simply grabbing his boyfriend and snogging him in front of everyone.
Draco could see how red Percy had gotten, but it looked like he had no intention of complaining about his boyfriend being overly affectionate in public.
That made Draco smile a little, as he started walking towards his own boyfriend who greeted him with an over-enthusiastic kiss as well.
-I won!-
-Did you? I almost didn’t notice. You know, you only won because that bludger almost blowing your head off distracted me.-
Charlie laughed, hugging it tighter.
-This was fun though, right? My family loves quidditch, we play all the time. We will probably do it again.-
Draco rested his head on Charlie’s shoulder, looking at everyone else: they were all busy celebrating, and it didn’t seem to matter who had won.
For the first time in a lot of time, Draco didn’t feel out of place. He felt at home.
He smiled, hugging Charlie tighter.
He could have gotten used to this.
