The way his shirt clung to his frame, the way drops of sweat sparkled in the air when he shot an arm out to perform a battle sequence, the way his lips quirked into a very boyish grin when he was sure of victory — his passion was flammable.
My face softened when Pikachu's electro ball struck Clemont's Bunnelby in a mighty explosion, handing over the delicacy box to Ash and his partner.
"Congratulations, Ash," I added with a giggle when he and Pikachu showed off their win. He grinned, his happiness infectious.
But what blossomed warmth within my chest wasn't that, rather his kindness when he offered the prize he won to Clemont, Bonnie, and me.
That really won me over.
