Work Text:

Logan Sergeant couldn’t believe it; he was turning 24. The air was charged with excitement as he prepared for a night filled with celebration, friendship, and of course, birthday kisses from his boyfriend.

The living room was adorned with colourful decorations, shimmering lights, and a giant banner that read, “Happy 24th Birthday, Logan!” Balloons floated cheerfully around the room, and the scent of delicious food wafted from the kitchen, where his family was busy preparing a feast.

As he stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his hair, Logan felt a mix of nervousness and exhilaration. This year felt different, not just because of his birthday but because he had Oscar by his side.

Oscar who stood by him through the worst year of his life. Oscar who didn’t give up on him when Logan gave up on himself. Oscar who loved him unconditionally and who Logan loved more than anything. This year had made their relationship stronger than ever, he could only imagine the future to come.

They had been together for over 3 years now, and each day felt like a beautiful adventure. He couldn’t shake the feeling that tonight might hold something special, something unforgettable.

As guests began to arrive, the energy in the room skyrocketed. Alex Albon and George Russell were among the first to show up.

“Happy birthday, mate!” Alex exclaimed, pulling Logan into a playful bear hug. George, always the jokester, presented Logan with a ridiculously oversized birthday hat. “You have to wear this all night!” he laughed, placing the hat on Logan's head.

Logan smiled, his cheeks flushed with joy, as he donned the hat, embracing the silliness of the moment. The living room filled with friends and family, each one bringing warmth and love that wrapped around him like a cozy blanket. His parents beamed with pride, watching their son surrounded by laughter and joy.

As the party kicked off, a karaoke machine was brought out, and George took center stage, belting out a classic rock song.

“Come on, everyone! Join in!” he encouraged, and soon enough, Logan found himself singing along with Alex, their voices harmonizing in hilarity. The laughter was infectious, and the atmosphere felt electric.

In a quieter moment, Logan spotted Oscar standing a little apart from the group, a soft smile on his face as he watched Logan enjoy himself. Logan’s heart swelled with affection. He made his way over, leaning in to give Oscar a quick peck on the cheek.

“You’re not escaping the karaoke, you know!” Logan teased, pulling him toward the microphone.

Oscar chuckled, his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink. “Alright, but only if you sing a duet with me.”

As they took the stage together, the crowd cheered them on. Their voices blended beautifully, and every note they sang felt like a celebration of their bond. They shared playful glances and laughter, creating precious memories that would last a lifetime.

As the night wore on, Logan’s family set up a photo booth, complete with silly props and backdrops. Everyone took turns posing, and Logan found himself in a whirlwind of laughter and fun. He donned oversized sunglasses and a feather boa while Oscar wore a goofy hat. They snapped picture after picture, capturing the joy of the moment.

“Let’s take a serious one,” Oscar suggested, wrapping his arms around Logan’s waist. They posed together, their smiles genuine as they gazed into each other’s eyes. “This is one for the wall,” Logan said, his heart racing at how perfect this moment felt.

As the party reached its peak, everyone gathered around the table, where a beautifully decorated birthday cake sat, adorned with 24 shimmering candles. Logan felt a rush of warmth as he took in the sight of his friends and family, their faces lit with anticipation.

“Make a wish, Logan!” his mom encouraged, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Logan closed his eyes for a brief moment, envisioning the future he desired, then took a deep breath, feeling the love surrounding him. With a swift puff, he blew out the candles, and the room erupted in cheers.

“Happy Birthday!” everyone shouted, clapping and laughing as the cake was cut and served.

Once the cake was divided, it was time for gifts. Logan’s heart raced as he opened his presents, the excitement palpable. The first box he unwrapped was from George, who was grinning mischievously. Inside was a pair of novelty socks that read, “If you can read this, bring me pizza!” Logan laughed, shaking his head at George’s sense of humour.

“Thanks, mate! I’ll wear them with pride!”

Next, he opened an elegantly wrapped package from Oscar. As he peeled back the paper, he revealed a sleek new racing helmet, its design bold and vibrant.

“For your upcoming adventure at Le Mans,” Oscar said, his eyes gleaming with pride. “I wanted you to have something special for your journey.”

Logan’s heart swelled with gratitude as he held the helmet close. “It’s perfect! Thank you so much, Oscar. I can’t wait to wear it!”

But there was more. Oscar reached into the bag and pulled out a delicate bracelet. “And this,” he said, handing it to Logan, “is engraved with the date we got together. I want you to carry that memory with you always.”

Logan’s eyes misted over as he admired the bracelet, the date shining brightly. “This means the world to me,” he whispered, slipping it onto his wrist. “I love it, Oscar.”

Next, Alex stepped forward with his gift, a vibrant Miami Dolphins shirt. “I figured you could use some team spirit, especially with the season heating up!” he said with a grin. Logan laughed, pulling the shirt from the box and holding it up for everyone to see. “I love it! Can’t wait to wear this at the games!”

Lastly, George handed Logan a neatly wrapped box, a more serious expression on his face. “Alright, this one’s not a joke,” he said, a twinkle in his eye. Inside was a bottle of aftershave that Logan adored. “I remember you said you were running low, so I thought I’d help you out.”

Logan beamed, genuinely touched. “Thanks, George! You really know me.”

As he looked around at his friends and family, each gift a reflection of their thoughtfulness, Logan felt an overwhelming sense of love and joy. This birthday celebration was more than just gifts; it was a reminder of the incredible people in his life who supported him, and he couldn’t have asked for anything more.

As midnight approached, the excitement in the room grew palpable. The countdown was on everyone’s lips, and Logan couldn’t help but feel a blend of anticipation and nervousness coursing through him.

He exchanged glances with Oscar, who looked equally excited. They shared a quick kiss, the warmth of their connection making Logan forget everything else around them.

“Ten… nine… eight…” The countdown began, and everyone joined in, their voices echoing in unison. Logan’s heart raced as he looked around at the faces of his loved ones—his family, friends—all gathered to celebrate him. “Three… two… one! Happy New Year!”

As fireworks erupted outside, illuminating the sky with vibrant colors, Logan and Oscar shared a passionate kiss, the world around them bursting with joy. The room erupted in cheers, confetti falling like colourful rain, and Logan felt a surge of happiness wash over him.

When the kiss ended, Oscar took a deep breath, his expression shifting from joy to something more serious. “Logan,” he began, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. “Tonight is not only special because it’s your birthday; it’s also a celebration of our love.”

The crowd quieted, and Logan’s heart raced as he sensed something extraordinary was about to happen. Oscar knelt down, reaching into his pocket, and pulled out a small velvet box. As he opened it, revealing a stunning ring, the room gasped collectively. “I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”

Logan’s eyes widened, tears brimming as he looked down at the ring, then back at Oscar. The words escaped him, but he nodded vigorously, unable to find the voice to express his joy. “Yes! Yes, of course!”

Cheers erupted from their friends and family as Oscar slipped the ring onto Logan’s finger. They embraced tightly, laughter and joy filling the air as everyone celebrated the moment. George and Alex whooped and hollered, whipping out their phones to capture the precious scene.

Logan looked around at the faces of his loved ones—his parents with tears in their eyes, Alex and George grinning ear to ear, and a few other friends who had gathered close, all beaming with happiness. It was a beautiful start to a new year, and a new chapter in his life.

As the celebration continued, Logan and Oscar were showered with hugs and congratulations. Oscar beamed with pride as Logan showed off the ring to everyone. “It’s perfect,” Logan whispered, gazing lovingly at Oscar.

In the midst of the chaos, Logan’s mom pulled him aside, wrapping him in a warm embrace. “I’m so happy for you, Logan. Oscar is a wonderful person, and I can see how much you love each other.”

“Thanks, Mom,” Logan said, his voice thick with emotion. “I never imagined this night would be so special.”

As the party began winding down, Oscar led Logan to the balcony again, where they could steal a moment away from the crowd. The night sky was clear, stars twinkling above them.

“I can’t believe we’re engaged,” Logan said, his voice trembling with excitement. “This is the best birthday ever.”

“I wanted tonight to be unforgettable for you,” Oscar replied, taking Logan’s hand and intertwining their fingers. “You deserve all the happiness in the world.”

Logan leaned in, resting his forehead against Oscar’s. “I couldn’t have imagined it any better. With you, every moment feels special.”

As they stood together, the fireworks continued to light up the sky, each burst a reminder of the love they shared and the future that awaited them. The warmth of Oscar’s presence filled Logan’s heart, and he knew that this was just the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

With laughter and love echoing in the background, they kissed again, sealing their promises under the stars, surrounded by the people who mattered most.

As the festivities began to wind down, the laughter and noise gradually faded into a gentle hum. Logan found himself in a cozy corner of the living room, surrounded by the remnants of the celebration—the half-eaten cake, the colourful decorations, and the warm glow of fairy lights that twinkled like stars overhead. Guests had begun to trickle out, leaving behind a lingering sense of joy that filled the air.

Logan and Oscar exchanged glances, a silent understanding passing between them. They had shared such a magical evening, and now, as the clock ticked to the early hours of the new year, they both felt a pull to retreat into their own little world.

“Do you want to head to bed?” Logan asked softly, a hint of shyness in his voice. The invitation hung in the air, filled with promise.

“Absolutely,” Oscar replied, his eyes lighting up with warmth. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

They made their way to their bedroom, the soft glow of the moonlight spilling through the window. He changed into his sweatpants, deciding to remain shirtless before he sat on the edge of his bed.

Logan felt a wave of contentment wash over him. He kicked off his slippers and slid under the covers, glancing over at Oscar, who was removing his watch and placing it on the nightstand.

Logan's gaze fell to the bracelet Oscar had given him, the engraved date glinting softly in the dim light. He smiled, feeling grateful for the thought and love behind every gift he had received that night.

Oscar, noticing Logan’s admiration of the bracelet, leaned closer, his expression tender. “You really like it?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

“It means so much to me, Oscar. Thank you for making tonight so special,” Logan replied, his heart swelling with affection.

Oscar’s eyes drifted to the ring on Logan’s finger, its beauty shining with a brilliance that matched the joy in Logan’s heart. “And this,” he said softly, reaching out to gently caress the ring, “is perfect. I can’t believe we’re engaged.”

Logan felt a rush of warmth at Oscar's words. “I still can’t believe it either. You caught me completely off guard,” he said, a teasing smile playing on his lips. “You really know how to make a moment unforgettable.”

Oscar chuckled, his gaze never leaving Logan’s face. “I just wanted to give you the best birthday and New Year’s of your life,” he replied, his voice filled with sincerity.

As they settled into bed together, Logan instinctively nestled against Oscar’s chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath him. The warmth radiating from Oscar enveloped him like a comforting blanket. He sighed contentedly, savoring the closeness between them.

“Happy birthday, Logan,” Oscar murmured, planting a soft kiss on the top of Logan’s head.

“Thank you,” Logan whispered back, his voice thick with emotion. “It’s truly been the best one yet.”

Silence enveloped them, broken only by the soft sounds of their breaths and the occasional rustle of the sheets. Logan felt safe and cherished in Oscar's embrace, the worries of the world fading away. As he shifted slightly, he caught a glimpse of the ring sparkling on his finger once more, a beautiful reminder of their love and commitment.

“I can’t wait to start this new chapter with you,” Logan said, his voice barely above a whisper as he gazed up at Oscar.

“Me too,” Oscar replied, his eyes reflecting the sincerity of his words. “This is just the beginning.”

With that, the two of them settled into a comfortable silence, their bodies intertwined under the covers. Logan’s eyelids grew heavy, lulled by the warmth of Oscar's body and the soothing sound of his heartbeat. As he drifted off to sleep, he felt utterly at peace, knowing they had so much to look forward to together.

In the solace of the night, with the world outside quieting down, Logan burrowed closer, feeling Oscar’s arms wrap securely around him. Their hearts beat in sync, a gentle reminder of the love they shared and the beautiful future ahead. As they fell asleep, the stars twinkled outside the window, bearing witness to the start of their forever.
