Work Text:

It was starting to snow heavily outside, but Seokjin wasn’t bothered by it for even a bit. He was all bundled up on his very-very comfortable couch with his warmest blanket and his game control in hands, ready to play for the next several hours, since it was his day off and his boyfriend was out of town.

Just before Seokjin could hit the start button, though, the doorbell rang.

“Now what?” He mumbled as he got out of his blanket burrito to answer it.

Outside of Seokjin’s door was a person dressed in black clothes. The beanie they were wearing was so low in their face that, combined with the high collar of the sweater and a scarf, one could barely see their button nose. And the person was covered in snow that was now trickling on Seokjin’s doorstep due to the heat in the building hall.

Seokjin’s jaw slacked open for an instant of shock, before he could recover.

“Yoongi-chi! What happened?” He said as he grabbed his boyfriend by the arm and pulled him inside.

As soon as he closed the door, Seokjin proceeded to help Yoongi out of his frigid clothes. The other didn’t say a word while together they got rid of gloves, scarf, beanie, heavy coat, and shoes.

Leaving the pile wetting his entrance floor, Seokjin grabbed Yoongi’s hand and pulled him to the couch, making his boyfriend sit on the corner he was before and bundling Yoongi up on the blanket so he would warm up fast. Then he sat in front of him.

“Now, what happened, Yoongi-chi? You were supposed to be out of town because of work today.”

“We came back earlier due to the weather.” Yoongi stammered. “I took a taxi, but it broke three blocks away from here. Traffic was impossible, so I walked here.”

“Oh, Yoongi-chi!” Seokjin cried out and laid down on top of Yoongi, then he got up again when he remembered something. “Where is your backpack?”

“Left in the office.” Yoongi shrugged. “There was nothing important there.”

“Oh, okay.” Seokjin said, relieved. “You stay right here getting warmed up while I put your winter gear on the dryer.”

Seokjin got a nod in response and left his boyfriend on the couch while he organized the pile of wet clothes. When he was done with it, he saw that Yoongi was dozing off, so Seokjin decided to prepare them a meal.

Yoongi woke up to the delicious smell of kimchi jjigae. He got up, wrapping the blanket better around himself, and followed the alluring scent to the kitchen, where he found Seokjin at the stove stirring the bubbling soup. Yoongi pulled out one of the bar stools on the counter to sit down and that was when Seokjin noticed his arrival.

“Yoongi-chi! Just in time! The jjigae is ready!”

“Thanks, hyung.” Yoongi mumbled.

Seokjin turned off the fire and served two portions of the kimchi jjigae, putting one carefully in front of Yoongi before sitting by his side with his own. Yoongi put one hand out of the blanket burrito he was in and started eating. Seokjin smiled fondly at that. His boyfriend was so cute.

“After we’re done you should take a hot shower, Yoongi-chi. Then we can watch TV together.”

“Sure, hyung.” Yoongi said after he swallowed. “I just want to chill. The work travel was a nightmare.”

“Sorry to hear that. Was it the people or the weather?” Seokjin glanced at his boyfriend with a smirk on his lips.

“Both.” Yoongi chuckled. “More the people. The snow only got worse when we arrived back in Seoul.”

“Poor Yoongi-chi. My anti-social lil cat.” Seokjin mocked. “In your defense, your coworkers are very boring.”

Both cackled at what Seokjin said. Even if it was true – and it was – it was a bad thing to be judgmental of people, certainly Yoongi’s coworkers had people in their lives that liked them. But Seokjin wasn’t one of them.

The couple finished the jjigae in companionable silence, then Yoongi finally got out of the blanket cocoon to wash the dishes. Seokjin stored the leftovers in the fridge and dried the dishes, putting them in the right places. When they were done tidying the kitchen, the couple moved to the bedroom.

While Yoongi took a hot shower, Seokjin put out sweats and a pair of fuzzy, warm socks for him. He took the extra pillows out of the bed, getting it ready for them to cuddle up on it. Seokjin opened the curtains of the bedroom window so they could see the snow falling outside and turning the world white.

“Wow. It’s heavier.” Yoongi said as he came from the bathroom and got dressed.

“Yeah. It seems like we might have to stay inside tomorrow.”

“Perfect.” Yoongi said joyfully, getting into bed.

Seokjin chuckled and got into bed too. He leaned back against the headboard, casually opening his arms so Yoongi could lean on him and cuddle into Seokjin when he was ready. It was always a patience exercise waiting for Yoongi to come close, because he was a little shy with touch affection even though they had been dating for more than two years now. But Seokjin was all about making other people comfortable, especially his boyfriend, whom he loved very much.

It took a while for Seokjin to discover Yoongi’s favorite caress, and it happened totally by accident. They were watching a movie on the couch when Seokjin touched Yoongi’s hair one day and ruffled it. Yoongi leaned closer, making a pleasant sound, so Seokjin repeated the gesture, and just like that he found out Yoongi’s favorite touch.

Since then, Seokjin would let Yoongi get comfortable to cuddle him and then he would run his fingers through Yoongi’s hair, making him melt. Seokjin wouldn’t say a word about it to anyone – not even his boyfriend –, but he could swear Yoongi practically purred when he did that. That was why Seokjin started calling Yoongi his lil cat.

Today, Yoongi leaned on him faster than usual. Seokjin felt his hands on his chest when Yoongi used it as support to cuddle closer and they were still cold, so he hugged Yoongi, caressing his arms before they got fully comfortable.

“What are we going to watch?” Yoongi asked.

His voice slurred a little, giving Seokjin the hint that he was tired and getting sleepy.

“There is a new cooking show. I think we will have fun with it.” He suggested, knowing Yoongi would be asleep in no time.

“Good.” Yoongi agreed and looked outside while Seokjin turned the TV on.

They didn’t say it to each other, but moments like this were their favorites. Moments to bask in being together. Seokjin kissed the top of Yoongi’s head, making the other growl while he giggled. What a great interruption of his day off that had been.
