Summary:

After falling into the Ultimate Dough, White Lily Cookie was in the process of being rebaked when she entered an interesting dream and proposal. The carrier of half of her partner's Soul Jam talks his way (in his own methods) into White Lily's fragile heart, ultimately taking control of her thoughts.

White Lily wishes to seek the truth, right?

Work Text:

"No.. this can't be.. ah!"

The last words of White Lily Cookie echoed around as she dove straight into the Ultimate Dough, the inviting arms of the raw dough consumes her whole. The sensation was unreal, White Lily stared up at her creators, the Witches one last time before sinking in.

She awoke in a dark realm with a warm aroma. She gazed around curiously and scared, why was she here? The memories of her witnessing her purpose of Cookiekind to the creators were fainting as she slowly stood up.

"W-where am I?" she whispered, peering around at the endless space.

"Hehehe~" a voice chilled down her already cold back.

White Lily whipped around to find a Cookie dressed in black and blue, playing cards in hand.

"I'm sorry.. but who are you?"

"Ah, White Lily Cookie! Pleased to meet you~" the Cookie reached his empty hand out, expecting a handshake.

White Lily froze as her name was announced by the stranger, but shook his hand politely.

"It was getting quite BORING in here... so GLAD someone came! So how was it? How was it falling into the raw dough made by those... CREATORS?" the Cookie grinned, not letting go of White Lily's hand.

"I.. I sought the truth... and I found it.." White Lily gulped, still in the aftershock of witnessing her own kind get devoured by higher beings she had once praised.

The mysterious Cookie grinned, "The Truth can be quite.. shocking, right? Hahaha! Cursed creators, how could they~!"

White Lily looked right in the Cookie's eyes.

"Who are you..? And how did you know my name..?" she asked hesitantly, glancing back and forth at her hand still held captive by the Cookie.

"Hehehe~ Where did my manners go? The name's Shadow Milk Cookie, world's most praised trickster, playwriter, and last but not least... the original caretaker of your beloved partner's Soul Jam~" Shadow Milk smiled mischievously.

"My partner's.. Soul Jam? Original..?"

"Yes! That precious power of your partner, Pure Vanilla Cookie... belonged to me originally! Mehehe.. say, does the name.. Blueberry Milk Cookie sound familiar?"

White Lily recalled her memories, from every music sheet in the Faerie Kingdom, to every text she found at the Academy.. hold on.

"Blueberry Milk... the founder of the Blueberry Academy! The one that mysteriously went rogue.." White Lily mentioned, a bit confused on why Shadow Milk would mention him.

"Ring ding ding! My, for someone who seeks the truth, you do a.. decent job at it! And what do you think happened to that founder~?" Shadow Milk said, gripping White Lily's hand tighter.

White Lily thought carefully about it, before a shine in her eyes was evident.

"You're.. Blueberry Milk Cookie? But, you said your name was Shadow Milk.."

Shadow Milk chuckled, "My name IS Shadow Milk, Blueberry Milk is a name of the past. One now dangling in the wind~ ah, back when I was worshipped and not reduced to.. this state~"

Shadow Milk tensed as he finished his sentence. White Lily was now more confused then anything.

"What happened..?"

"HAHAHAHAHA! Those cursed creators! They reduced me! They imprisoned me! ME! They then took MY virtue and gave half a PATHETIC Cookie. THEY sealed me in a STUPID tree at the end! Tell me, do I not have any right to hate those CURSED witches? Hahaha.."

White Lily opened her mouth to try to comfort the angry fellow, but was interrupted by a sudden change of mood.

"Hehe, did I go a bit.. off the rails? Heh, sincerest apologies for that! Anyways, I've come here with a proposal!"

White Lily was a bit intrigued, "A.. proposal?"

"Yes! A proposal! Hmm, I'll guarantee you a couple cool magic tricks of mine and you... stay out of the way!"

"What do you mean by magic tricks..?" White Lily cautiously questioned.

"Hm, ones that will aid you in seeking the full truth! You do wish to seek the truth, don't you~?"

White Lily remembered what just happened before entering this dream-like realm. She was extremely hesitant, she was already shocked by just a fraction of Cookiekind's truth. But she then remembered all of her days at the academy with Pure Vanilla, always promising herself to dedicate her life to create the perfect Cookie, to seek the truth. The truth...

The repeating thoughts of finding the truth gnawed into her thoughts. She knew it was bad, she had to stop before suffering the consequences that might result. It might become too late, but her heart was telling her to accept the proposal that Shadow Milk had. Her heart was betraying her, telling her to trust a Cookie she had just met a few moments ago. A Cookie that admitted was sealed away for.. reasons. The proposal lingered in her mind, repeating itself over and over. The truth... she promised to devote herself to find the truth. This feeling was unfamiliar.. it was like she was unintending to do this. It was like someone was taking over her thoughts, infesting it with words of sweetness and promise.

She looked at Shadow Milk again, only to be faced with his playing cards covering his face.

"Well~? Made your decision?"

White Lily sputtered, "Did you do something to me..?"

It was until then she finally noticed Shadow Milk's hand was still placed around hers. This entire time and she didn't even realize.

"White Lily... you can only achieve freedom when you reach the truth of all." Shadow Milk said, with a tone of (fake) honesty.

White Lily closed her eyes, overwhelmed. The growing ache of agreement was tempting, but she already knew.. does she know? Does she really know THE truth? The truth to Cookiekind, why Cookies are so weak? Was everything a white.. made-up lie? She began to chuckle.

Shadow Milk was caught off guard slightly, lowering the mask of playing cards in suspicion.

"Haha... very well then. If it's the truth I want.. it's the truth I seek." White Lily(?) smiled slyly, looking up right into Shadow Milk's eyes.

Shadow Milk smirked, "Hehe.. good~"

He swooped the spread out playing cards into a neat deck, blowing all the cards into White Lily's direction. He still held onto White Lily's hand.

White Lily didn't expect the wave of playing cards flying straight at her face, closing her eyes from instinct. The playing cards brushed against her dough, slowly evaporating at touch. She slowly opened her eyes and stared at Shadow Milk.

"What was that for?"

Shadow Milk grinned, "Embrace it! Embrace the joys of playing cards disappearing at the touch of your dough! You'll get the abilities in no time~"

White Lily glanced down at Shadow Milk's hand still covering her hand.

White Lily spoke up, with a voice of maliciousness and force, "Let go."

Shadow Milk raised his eyebrow, "Oh? What's with the sudden shift~?"

White Lily used her free hand to forcefully pry Shadow Milk's hand off, with little to no restraint from Shadow Milk. Shadow Milk knitted his eyebrows as he examined White Lily.

"Haha! The truth is getting into you, isn't it?" Shadow Milk smirked, a perfect disguise to his curiousness and cautiousness.

White Lily deeply breathed in, before swiftly changing to an entirely different look. Shadow Milk chuckled in delight and also slight discomfort.

The now transformed White Lily was anything but what she used to be. It was like it was a entirely new Cookie was just formed.

"Hahaha! That stupid name of White Lily is no longer mine... call me Dark Enchantress. And, like what you said, that name is now dangling in the wind.. a facade of the past." Dark Enchantress smirked.

Shadow Milk laughed, "Dark Enchantress is it? Pleased to meet you.."

He reached out his hand for a handshake, only for him to get punched in the face and knocked back a couple feet.

"Hey! I granted you a part of MY power and now you want to fight!?" he growled, wiping a bit of jam off his face.

Dark Enchantress shook her head, "No, I just wanted to test a bit of my strength before leaving this place."

Shadow Milk kicked the ground, "You're lucky I'm a bit merciful today~"

Dark Enchantress groaned slightly.

"Haha, I'll leave you here now. I'll rescue you from the tree seal later." Dark Enchantress scoffed, before suddenly vanishing.

Shadow Milk hissed as he stomped on the ground like he's having a tantrum, "That..! She better be putting my power to good use or else! Grr.."

He plopped himself down, "But I have to say... she's quite an interesting plaything~ Too bad her partner is not as exciting as her."

He looked down at the smeared blood on his hand from the punch Dark Enchantress threw at him earlier and chuckled, "Not bad~ Ah! Can't wait to see her again in some time~ hahahaha!"

He continued to sit there in silence, now wondering what exactly caused the shift from White Lily to Dark Enchantress and numerous other questions he had thought of.
