Dec 26
Katsuki says I’m bad at taking care of myself. He also says he doesn’t mind taking care of me, though. (I know he isn’t lying, because his ears went red when I asked.)
He was mad today. I told him it was my fault for fainting after patrol, but he said it wasn’t, that those kinds of things are never my fault, and that it’s his responsibility anyways, since I’m his omega.
I like that. Being his omega.
He drove me to the doctor’s office. He wouldn’t let me go alone, even if I promised I’d tell him everything after.
The doctor says it’s not anemia, so Katsuki is free to stop yelling about my iron intake.
It is something that’s going to need a lot of vitamins anyways, though.
(Katsuki looked really, really happy. I think he cried a little. I definitely caught him wiping at his face.)
…I wonder if I’ll be a good mom?
Dec 31
Fuyumi made me relax. Well, she insists she’s not making me do anything, only being a considerate big sister, because she remembers how tired she was and how much her feet hurt during her pregnancy, but when I told her I wasn’t that far along yet, she huffed and told me to sit down anyways.
I was hoping she would show me how to make pie. She baked one today, because the desserts everyone else brought weren’t enough for the table to look nice, apparently. I never think about how tables look. I wonder if I should change that? If I want to be a good omega?
I want to be able to show someone how to make pie. I want… I want to be the kind of omega who can handle things like seating charts and handmade place cards. That seems nice.
Fuyumi’s dinner parties are always nice. Katsuki wanted to the spend the New Year just us two, but I wanted—I figured we should tell everyone. Mom wouldn’t let go of my hand. Natsu-nii threatened to break Katsuki’s neck if he hurt me. Dad… well, dad wrote me a check for future expenses.
(He’s trying, I think.)
Katsuki said we didn’t have to stay until the end. He held my hand after I told him I didn’t mind, though. And then he kissed me when the clock struck twelve. He said this was our first New Year’s together, all three of us.
I liked that part best.

I don’t think Katsuki would have let me eat so many cookies if I wasn’t pregnant, especially since he’s been making cake from scratch for tomorrow.
He said it’s my favorite, but I don’t think I really had a favorite until he took me to that patisserie in Paris for our one year anniversary. The snow was so pretty, and he chased after me when I threw that snowball in his face. We were both laughing when he caught up to me, and then he tackled me into the snow, and it got under my coat, and I’m sure people were staring at us thinking we were lunatics, but I was so happy.
All I wanted to do was kiss him.
(That hasn’t changed, even without the special occasion.)
He accused me of pouting too much when we were holding hands after, and that’s why he wanted to buy back my affections with sugary treats. I got pistachio cream on my upper lip, and I remember feeling way too warm for the weather when Katsuki leaned it to wipe it away with his thumb.
That’s how I got a favorite dessert. And now Katsuki has hunted down some authentic French recipe for it and he’s making it from scratch because it’s an alpha’s job to take care of their omega.
(I think it’s just because he loves me, though.)

The morning sickness started.
Nee-san says I’m lucky, that hers was so bad she realized she was pregnant before she even needed a test, the first time.
I didn’t feel very lucky this morning when I was seriously contemplating now nice it was that the porcelain on the toilet was cold, because my quirk felt like it was going to boil me from the inside. I barely got a piece of toast down before I was retching it all out into the toilet bowl.
Katsuki kept rubbing my back even when I turned to him with teary eyes and a pale face and told him this is your fault, you did this to me.
I greatly suspect nee-san gave him some kind of… pregnant omega manual? Probably something with a ridiculous title like You & Your Omega’s New Hormones: The Alpha Side of Things. Hmph. I knew I shouldn’t have let him come to New Year’s.

I think the nausea might be finally going away?
Katsuki brought home this huge stuffed cat. It was pink. It also had an equally huge heart-shaped box of chocolates between its white-tipped paws, and for once the scent didn’t make me want to claw Katsuki’s eyes out.
I may have overacted about the dark chocolate, though. According to all the books and articles and stairwell chats with our middle-aged omega neighbors he’s been having, milk chocolate is the devil itself. But I don’t like dark chocolate, and Katsuki knows this.
He stood his ground even when I pouted, though, which isn’t all that common. He asked me if I wanted healthy pups, which is unfair, because of course I do. I just happen to also want my milk chocolate, and I don’t see why we can’t compromise.
Katsuki laughed when I said this, and then he kissed the tip of my nose and said you can have all you want as soon as the pup comes out, princess.
He cuddled me after, and he watched my baking show with me, so I guess it’s okay. For now. He better cuddle me more, though.
Mar 3
I cried at a pair of baby shoes today.
Natsu-nii gave them to me.
They were so tiny.
Mar 4
Katsuki says I can cry all I want. About anything. So today I cried about tomatoes. Mom taught me how to grow them, and now we have these little pots of small green tomatoes, and I never thought I’d be good at growing anything before, but I haven’t killed any of them yet, and Katsuki always says I’m doing a good job, and—
And he’s nice to me. Always, no matter what.
So I cried. And he did that thing where he tips my chin up and kisses all over my face until he makes me laugh, and then I wasn’t crying anymore. (Well… maybe just a little, but I know that’s okay.)
Mar 17
It rained a lot today, the air heavy with humidity. I tried to go out anyway, because I wanted to be the one to make dinner for once. I managed not to get too wet. Katsuki was working late. I don’t mind it when he does, I’m not pregnant enough to need help with most things yet, and I’ve got Soba for company, but—
Ah, it does get lonely.
I wonder if I’ve gotten spoiled, sometimes.
I didn’t mind loneliness when I was a kid. It prickled, sure, but it also meant no one expected anything of me, and that wasn’t bad. Not being needed. Not being a weapon. Not being a child trying his best to be a weapon because that’s what he was told he had to be.
Katsuki just wants me to be me, though. I’m not sure I knew how to do that quite yet, when we first met. But now I have a favorite dessert and a favorite mug and favorite shows that Katsuki grumbles very little about watching with me, and I’m still all he wants. Me. For me to be his omega. For me to give him pups.
So maybe it’s okay if I still burn dinner a little. I know he’ll eat it anyway.
Mar 23
I felt the baby kick. I yelled so loud Soba jumped off the bed with her hair bristled, and she still refuses to sit next to me.
Katsuki cried again. He didn’t even deny it this time. He was too busy calling his mom. I’m pretty sure I heard him tell her he loves her. It was sweet. He’s sweet.
He’s a really good alpha.
(He made me pancakes after, and he didn’t even use the dark chocolate chocolate chips this time.)
April 9
The doctor asked if we wanted to know the gender. I looked so excited Katsuki didn’t need to say anything.
I’m going to need more pink clothes. I was profoundly distressed about this when we left the doctor’s office, because most of the gifts we’ve gotten are, in fact, neither pink nor blue, and I was in the middle of telling Katsuki about it when he arched an eyebrow and told me Shou, what if she doesn’t like pink?
I’m not exactly sure what face I made, but Katsuki burst out laughing. And then he kissed the tip of my nose.
He said I could buy all the pink clothes I wanted when he noticed I was pouting, though, and then I made him keep his promise.
(There is a small possibility we now have too many pink things.)
April 15
We were watching a penguin documentary when Katsuki told me he’d get me a shiny rock if I wanted it.
I really wasn’t trying to bring that up, though, I just—I thought it was nice, how the penguins do it. With their shiny rocks. Maybe if Katsuki had to ransack a beach to get me a ring, I might like it more too. I told him that, and he said the best he could do was steal my dad’s credit card. His personal one, so he can’t find a way to deduct it as a work expense.
I’m starting to think I might want a ring after all. Don’t your fingers swell during pregnancy, though? Nee-san’s did, I remember. Maybe after, then.
Maybe I’ll even ask Momo to hide it on a beach after he picks it out. I’m sure Katsuki wouldn’t mind. His alpha likes a challenge.
(Evidently, since he likes me.)
April 30
Mom came to visit. She likes her new job. It helps her. I wonder, sometimes. If she had dreams for herself before—before dad. Before us. My therapist says it’s normal to want to know these things. When I started therapy, I remember thinking there had to be two different kinds of normal. Normal for me and normal for people who were actually—well, normal.
And I could imagine this neat little line separating us, me and the people who weren’t pantomiming it based on external observations. Shouto normal, and the kind without training wheels. God.
I’ve never asked mom about her dreams. I didn’t ask this time, either. But her hands weren’t shaking when she held her tea, and she asked to touch my belly, and the baby kicked when she did, and her eyes sparkled when I told her Katsuki and I wanted suggestions on names.
It was nice.
May 5
I’ve been sneezing a lot. My nose is red. My allergies were never this bad when I wasn’t pregnant. That’s still weird to say. Or, um, write, I suppose.
Fuyumi says it’s special for omegas. That we’re always more sensitive. I told her I’ve never been pregnant before, so I wouldn’t know, and she shook her head at me.
I think Katsuki likes it, though. Having more opportunities to take care of me. To provide as an alpha.
He was washing the dishes when I told him, and maybe I should have used a different phrasing, because that one in particular made him spray himself with water. It’s not bad. I don’t assume he thinks less of me just because it’s good for his instincts when he does things for me. I like being taken care of, and Katsuki likes taking care of me. it’s very symbiotic.
(Even if Katsuki would probably scoff that we aren’t plants. Or different species. But isn’t that a given, considering I’m carrying his child?)
May 12
I learned a lot about pasteurization today.
Momo is taking her future godmother duties very seriously. I can no longer have my favorite kind of cheese.
No one warned me pregnancy came with so many sacrifices. If anyone tries to take strawberries away from me because of Japan’s soil fertilization policies I might cry.
May 18
Katsuki likes my body.
Well, he already did, of course, but he likes the squishiness now. That’s what he calls it. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him say that word before. He says I’m definitely squishy, though. And he does, um, squish me. A lot. He bit my cheek last night.
We weren’t even in bed.
Soba might’ve thought he was trying to hurt me? She hissed at him. And then she put her paw on my belly. It’s cute. How now I have two of them growling and trying to keep me safe.
May 29
Fuyumi signed me up for this couples’ guided meditation class for pregnant omegas.
She never mentioned anything about going to one when she was pregnant, but she assured me it was apparently supposed to be very relaxing.
Katsuki didn’t mind. He did growl at the instructor when he put his hands on my sides to demonstrate the proper position, though. And then we just—looked into each other’s eyes for a long time. He was also supposed to touch me a lot. After a certain point it felt more like a massage than anything.
It was a little embarrassing when I whined out loud.
(Katsuki’s face was very red when I opened my eyes.)
I didn’t realize nee-san could possibly mean that kind of relaxing, but Katsuki was very eager when we got home.
Jun 6
It’s getting warm again. It’s been raining less too. The doctor says the baby might come around august. Maybe early September if she decides to stay in there a little longer.
That’s nice. I want her to be born when it’s warm.
I told Katsuki that, and he said she’s probably plenty warm in there already. And then he asked me why I was blushing.
(I wasn’t sure how to tell him it’s because I love him, that hasn’t made me blush in a while.)
Jun 9
Ochako brought over a pink bunny that was half as tall as me.
She said it’s for good luck, since it matches the baby’s birth year.
Jun 15
We still need a name. I’ve been reading so many name books my eyes started stinging, mom had a bunch of them from—well, from when she had Touya and Fuyumi, probably, the pages are a little yellow.
I kind of wish the pup could pick her own name, that way she’d be exactly what she wants to be. I know it doesn’t work like that, though. I’ll try to do my best. I’ve got Katsuki too, I’m lucky like that. Maybe if mom had an alpha like Katsuki, it would have been easier on her.
(I caught him watching an instructional video on the most efficient way to change a diaper yesterday. It was kind of sweet.)
Jun 23
Apparently, everyone is taking their future involvement in the pup’s life Very Seriously. Tenya sent me an article on the details of what happens during birth. I never thought fruit cross sections could get so… graphic.
I’m pretty sure he was just trying to be helpful, but I never want to look at a cantaloupe again, and I am now very seriously considering a c-section.
Jun 27
We watched My Neighbor Totoro. I cried. Soba tried to lick my tears before Katsuki pulled me in and kissed my forehead.
Jul 12
We went shopping today. My feet have started hurting a lot, I guess nee-san wasn’t lying about that. When I told Katsuki, he picked me up right there in the middle of the store. People were staring at us, but he just carried me like I didn’t even weigh a thing.
I got so embarrassed I had to hide my warm face into his neck after a while, but he still wouldn’t put me down. He didn’t put me down until we got back to the car, and then he even did my seatbelt for me.
If any of our friends had done that, I think I would have gotten annoyed. I like it when Katsuki does it, though. He’s so strong. I couldn’t stop stealing glances at his arms while he drove for a bit in the car, and he definitely noticed.
I like him so much.
I tell him I love him a lot, and he says it back all the time, but—I should tell him this too. That he still makes my heart feel all squishy and warm inside my chest.
It’s been so long since I met him at U.A., I wonder how I would have felt back then if anyone had told me? If they’d said that’s your alpha, and pointed to the prickly kid trying to blow everyone up. The first time he called me princess I thought he was making fun of me for being an omega.
But then he scented me and rubbed my back when I had my first heat at the dorms, and the next morning he was red-faced and a little extra prickly, but he still made me barley tea for the cramps.
So. Maybe I wouldn’t have minded even then.
Jul 20
I’m so round now.
I don’t think I noticed it a lot before, but bending over in the shower has been getting a little hard even with how flexible I used to be.
Katsuki looks at me a lot. Momo says I could always get something nice for him. For me too, apparently.
Jul 22
Momo’s nice thing, it turns out, is a lot of red lace. Custom-ordered. Surprisingly not that scratchy.
(Katsuki couldn’t stop staring. He asked if he could touch me, and then got all red when I pointed out he touches me all the time. It was cute.)
Jul 31
I heard a baby cry today and so much milk started dripping out of me my shirt got soaked through.
I told Katsuki we might have to move. Because sure, I’ve noticed how little drops of yellow liquid started coming out every once in a while ever since late April, but not like this, god. I didn’t even need, like, tissues or anything.
I was in public. People saw. Pretty sure I heard the sweet old lady from apartment 331 say oh, dear before she offered me her spare handkerchief.
Shouldn’t we be looking into places close to good school districts anyways? I could ask Fuyumi, and solve both issues at once.
Aug 1
(Katsuki said he could help with the milk if I wanted. I didn’t expect him to use his mouth when I said yes. It was, um, definitely not unpleasant.)
Aug 3
Soba won’t let Katsuki touch my belly if she sees him trying to. He calls her a damn furball and tells her he’s the one responsible anyway like she’s going to understand. This has happened more than once now.
Aug 12
Today I found out that more concerning fluids follow after your water breaks.
I will be officially putting an embargo on all fun facts about labor in the group chat until I’m done with mine. I’m sure my doctor would have presented that information in a far less traumatizing manner.
Aug 17
I think I might be useful as a new definition for the word round, at this point.
Aug 23
I told Katsuki I wasn’t hungry today, and he sat by my bedside and cut up fruits for me, and then he fed me every single bite himself until I’d eaten most of the cantaloupe and the strawberries, and even a few of the grapes and some toast.
He’s a very good alpha.
Aug 28
The baby must be cozy in there, because I’m officially past the due date the doctor gave me.
Aug 29
Apparently, there’s a very straightforward way to induce oxytocin release, which then induces labor.
You will need an alpha for it, though.
(When the doctor put it like that, Katsuki bristled and told her you mean he’s going to need me. Like some other alpha was going to come and steal me away when I’m so round I’m about to pop. He’s cute. My alpha is so cute.)
Aug 31
I don’t remember much of the delivery room besides telling Katsuki he was never putting his knot in me again if it resulted in this sort of thing while he held my hand right in front of his mom before we were about to go in.
I’m pretty sure she laughed, though.
Sep 3
She’s so tiny. It’s been three days, and I’m still not over it.
She might even be too tiny for the shoes Natsu-nii got. She’ll have to grow into them.
We still don’t have a name. Katsuki said maybe we’d know when we met her. To be honest, one did come to mind the first time I held her. I wonder if Katsuki will like it. I hope he does.
Sep 5
They let me go home today.
I’ve never seen Katsuki drive so slowly in my life.
Soba sniffed the bassinet when we got home, and after that she immediately tried to headbutt Katsuki’s leg.
Motherhood seems nice, so far.
