All the fics under the main one will be sorted in chronological order.

And if it's referenced in a main chapter, in the end notes I'll add a link to the fic it's mentioning. And vice versa, I'll link/tell you which chapter of the main fic the fic is referencing!

“You still owe me a wish,” Leonard’s voice pulled Klein from his thoughts. The Sleepless walked through the moonlit fields outside Backlund. The Tussock River flowed in the distance. Dew-covered grass bent under his steps, rustling softly.

“Have you decided?” Klein asked calmly.

    “I have.” Leonard replied.

The poet’s steps didn’t slow. His voice drifted into the quiet night—just like that day within Sefirah Castle. The newly awakened Lord of the Mysteries had finished his urgent tasks. Then, he had pulled a tentacle from the pile of letters that nearly filled the long table and pulled the poet into the gray mist.

[“Have you decided?” Klein had asked then too.]

    [“I have.”]

[Leonard Mitchell, an angel, no longer resembled the Tingen Nighthawk or Red Glove. The Angel of Evernight sat in a high-backed chair, black hair cascading like silk and starlight.]

    “What’s your wish?” Klein asked.

“Your name,” the newly advanced Nightmare replied.

“I want to know your name.”

[“But I want to tell you after the apocalypse,” Klein had said with a smile, not waiting for Leonard’s wish.]

[The carefree sincerity Leonard was once teased for had faded. He now looked every bit the Church of Evernight’s Angel—calm, silent, gentle. But his eyes were still the same emerald green.]

[Klein gazed into those eyes, as if he could see the unchanged soul beneath. Tentacles covered in spiritual symbols slithered silently under his cloak, gathering scattered love poems.]

[Maybe he already knew Leonard’s wish.]

[The tentacles tangled together, forming knots.]

“Alright,” Klein said, his expression unchanged.

Damn, he thought. Does this make me seem unwilling?

But saying ‘I’m happy to’ felt too awkward.

[Let the apocalypse end soon, he had thought. His new, unfamiliar tentacles had twisted anxiously. Then he could agree and tell him.]

[But the apocalypse didn’t end as he hoped.]

[He never got to hear the words he wanted. Time bent and restarted. Even as his tentacles slapped the floor in frustration, he knew this meant saving more lives and changing more fates—a good thing.]

    “Zhou Mingrui.”

The Klein who had started over looked at the once-silly demonic wolf and smiled.

“My name is Zhou Mingrui.” - 20

“You Loen people,” the former Intis governor scoffed, “always use ‘close friends’ as an excuse. Might as well get married and have twins in three years."

Klein didn’t bother arguing. “I hope you’re just as bold when explaining your diary to your daughter.”

Roselle went silent. Roselle shut up. Roselle obediently closed his mouth.

Klein sighed softly. “I saw how he interacted with noble ladies during missions. One time, a lady from Intis married into Loen and leaned so close her chest nearly touched his arm. He asked if her legs were weak and if she needed to sit down. I doubt he’d ever develop romantic instincts on his own. Maybe Pallez didn’t dare say anything. Maybe Fors or Audrey did something. Or maybe I’m overthinking it—he just copied a few love poems and didn’t think twice.”

“If the apocalypse hadn’t come, I would’ve had the chance to ask him. There’s so much I wanted to ask…”

Roselle, now fully shadowed, interrupted, “If you’re going to gush about your feelings…”

His voice echoed, “Pick someone who’s alive."

    “I’m already dead.”

“If you insist on making me listen, at least revive me first.”

    They had arrived in Bayam.

Before they could react, the door burst open. Danitz rushed in.

“We’ve docked! When are you going to hand over the book—”

He stopped mid-sentence, eyes wide at the two of them on the bed. A shout escaped him: “Dogshit!”

Forgetting what he’d meant to say, Danitz froze under Gehrman’s glare, then quickly corrected himself, “No—I mean, sorry for interrupting!”

He slammed the door shut and vanished from sight. - 47

“You want to kill them?” Shen Yuan turned to him in alarm, earning only a light tap to the forehead in response, to which he closed his eyes with a vexed expression.

“Foolish child—if I could kill all who have wronged me, there would be none left in this world”

“But isn’t Tian… well, Father… someone so powerful that not even the greatest cultivator can best him?”

“He is—but, Shen Yuan…” The father’s hands came to rest upon the boy’s cheeks as he knelt to meet his gaze. “Killing, though satisfying, is a vulgar act. It is no sin to slay one who has done you harm—but it is far better to cause them such misery in life that they crave death itself. Do you understand?” His eyes sought confirmation, and found instead a smile.

“Baba, you’re insane” Yet there was no trace of disgust in the boy’s tone—only a smile that might have been mistaken for innocent, were it not for the context of their talk. “I understand—you want to show them how well things go for you, and make them drink vinegar until they burst. Understood”

The absurd simplification of matters, as though it were some cheap novel, drew a soft laugh from Shen Jiu.

honestly harry has a reputation didn't you hear 🙄

“If there’s one thing you’ll learn very quickly about me, it’s that I will never pass up an opportunity to be as petty as possible,” Harry says. “And you’ve certainly given me a lot of things to be petty about.”

Behind them, Fred and George enter the tent. Fred says, “Is that where Ginny gets it?”

“No, I got it from you guys and Bill,” Ginny says. “Especially Bill.”

Bill shrugs. “Eh, you know me. I think it’s customary for the oldest sibling to learn how to be the prettiest, otherwise you brats get away with everything. Gotta make everything a big deal so you can feel my pain.”
