  1. Summary

This is all set in the Winners Take It All universe, where we see Riddle and Floyd's life progress from all sorts of POV's.

These will mostly be one-shots and missing moments that aren't in the main fic.

All the fics under the main one will be sorted in chronological order.

And if it's referenced in a main chapter, in the end notes I'll add a link to the fic it's mentioning. And vice versa, I'll link/tell you which chapter of the main fic the fic is referencing!

    Summary

Bernard leaned out his window, calling out, “What manner of man are you that can summon up fire without flint or tinder?”

Red Robin smirked, “I… am an enchanter!”

Bernard quickly shook off his surprise, “By what name are you known?”

“There are some who call me… Tim?”

“No names in the field,” Batman grunted.

Bernard choked, “Your name is actually Tim?!”

“Dammit, B!” Red Robin cursed. “It was a line from Monty Python!”

    “Holy shit, Tim?

    Bookmarker's Notes

"We have to return the painting!" Bernard shouted as he barged into Steph's apartment.

"Bernard?" Steph growled from where she was on the couch with Cass.

    "Yeah?"

    "Go away."

    "But-"

"My bra is on the fucking floor, do you really think now is the right time?"

"Fine," he huffed. Right before he slammed the door, he shouted, "This is your fault for not locking the door!"

    _____

"What do you mean we can't return the painting?"

"It's already been found out we replaced it with a forgery."

    "So?"

"Tim is watching this entire situation like a hawk."

"Then, what are we supposed to do?"

"Well, I know Selina would really appreciate this kind of art."

"No, not about that. What should I get Tim for his birthday?"

"You know, I think you might finally have become as batshit crazy as the rest of us."

    Summary

Bernard Dowd isn’t stupid. He may not be anywhere near the same level of genius as Tim Drake, but he’s clever enough to sniff through a deception.

It’s not like Tim ever made it particularly difficult to figure it out. Not if one is paying attention, which Bernard always has been when it came to Tim.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Will I see Robin on the news tonight with long sleeves, or does this mean you’ll finally take a break?

Bernard grins and takes the marker. He’s as gentle as he can be while he twists Tim’s arm this way and that, looking for a free space. Tim’s siblings have already made their own marks on the cast. Bernard uncaps the marker with his teeth and draws a heart right below Jason’s loving get rekt nerd message.

When he's finished, Bernard kisses Tim’s plaster-encased wrist, right over the break. “There. Now you’ll have a reminder for the next time you try and get yourself killed without permission.”

Tim laughs. “I’ll check in with you first, next time. You can be the one to drive me to the hospital.”

    “Damn right, Drake.”

I wish you could tell me, he doesn’t say. But that’s all right. When Tim is ready, Bernard will be here, ready to listen.

“Easy,” Tim said. “Just do your best. What’s going on?”

“Bernard.” Darla sobbed, and Tim’s blood rushed with ice. He barely heard her say, “he took Bernard as a hostage. My friend. They’re on the roof, you have to help him, please—”

    Bookmarker's Notes

    “I’m scared.” Bernard whispered breathlessly.

Any confidence Tim had in himself plummeted just from seeing that look on Bernard’s face.

If there was anything Bernard Dowd wasn’t supposed to be, it was scared.

He was always so confident. Swaggering around, dressed like an asshole and smiling like a ladies man, hair smoothed back.

Gotham’s gloom couldn’t begin to compete with how brightly Bernard lit up the world around him just by being that obnoxiously smug.

    Tim swallowed hard.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The Lord of the mysteries suddenly addressed his partner, “You also could have officiated her wedding, right?”

Said partner raised an eyebrow, “can I do that?”

“Were you not a priest for 3 months?” Klein asked.

“Acting priest,” Leonard corrected. “The actual one was recovering.”

“Ah, so you can’t.” Klein murmured. “Never do that again, by the way. Tell someone else to take your place next time.”

“What? Why?” Leonard was close to whining, “I think I did a decent job.”

“You weren’t the problem,” Klein replied dryly. “Everyone else was.”

Leonard tilted his head. “I don’t understand.”

Klein narrowed his eyes. “You really don’t know? Everyone was suddenly so pious when you were priest. The church was full during every mass, when you were the one leading it.”

Looking at the other still not getting it, Klein sighed.

His appearance suddenly shifted - long black hair spilling over his shoulders, voice turning soft and sweet.
“Your Grace Mitchell, here’s my address for when I host a prayer at home,” he said in a perfect imitation of a swooning woman.

Klein had gotten used to covering his transformations with an illusion, so others around him would not be at risk of losing control. Hence, the onlookers were not affected, simply awed by the amazing power displayed.

Then he changed again - a different woman, a different voice.
“Your Grace Mitchell, I believe you need to bless me personally for it to be more effective.”

His appearance and voice kept changing from one woman to another.

“Your Grace Mitchell, will you be here tomorrow?”
    “Your Grace Mitchell—”
    “Your Grace—”
    “Your Grace—”
Each transformation more absurd than the last, Klein’s tone shifting from sultry to overly reverent to outright ridiculous. He had even gripped the front of Leonard’s shirt to go with his acting.

Leonard looked utterly delighted, a wide grin stretching across his face as he watched Klein imitate almost every woman who had hit on him during those months.

When Klein finally fell silent and reverted to himself, Leonard was still grinning like an idiot - positively gleeful.
“You’re jealous,” he said, almost laughing.

Klein shot him a sharp glare.

“Goddess, you are jealous,” Leonard said, laughter bubbling up now. “You know I never flirted back with any of them.”

“If you had,” Klein replied evenly, “the church would be down an angel.”

That only made Leonard laugh harder. “You’d kill me?”

He was so happy to know Klein was this affected by him. The other was usually so reserved.

“Maybe,” Klein said, voice dropping just a touch. “Or maybe I’d lock you up and keep you for myself.”

    Leonard’s smile turned softer, warmer.
“You can lock me up any day,” he murmured.

Klein’s lips curled slightly. “We’ll see.”
