Bitter, malty liquid poured down Y/n’s throat—the other half tricking down their chin and disappearing between the valley of their breasts.
Slamming the can of beer down on the coffee table in front of them, Y/n raised their arms in victory, a plethora of cheers coming from around them. Next to them, Charlie groaned in defeat, delicately placing his beer next to Y/n’s.
“That shouldn’t even count,” Charlie claimed, drawing his eyes towards Y/n, a massive grin smeared on his features, “half of it didn’t even go into your mouth.”
Y/n scoffed, kissing their teeth, “I think you’re just a sore loser, Charlie.” Y/n’s grin matched their friend’s; wide and disdainful. “For your information, I am great at swallowing.” Their suggestive comment earned a few titters from bystanders.
Flopping down onto the couch, Charlie beside them, Y/n yawned. Whipping out their phone to check the time, Y/n letting out an agitated bleat. “There’s still fifteen minutes till midnight.” Y/n yawned again, “I’m tired.”
“Past your bedtime, sweetheart?” Weight plopped itself down next to Y/n. Turning to look, Y/n was met with mutton chops and a Yankee’s baseball cap.
“Hey, Schlatt.” Y/n smiled, staring at the male with glimmering eyes. “I’m allowed to be a little bit drowsy, you know.” Y/n mumbled, reaching over to grab her can of beer, taking another swig from the beverage.
As Y/n sipped at the beer, Schlatt’s gaze meandered down to where beer had previously dribbled down betwixt their breasts. The dark amber fluid began to dry on their skin. Schlatt’s eyes may have been lingering a little too long, as Charlie had captured Schlatt’s gaze, wiggling his eyebrows a bit. Schlatt gave a glare in response, before returning his gaze back to Y/n.
Placing back the now empty can, Y/n leaned back against the sofa, letting the cushions absorb their body entirely. Y/n’s eyes drifted to fixate on Schlatt, the male nearly captivated by their features. “So, Big Guy,” Y/n goaded, using the nickname as a sort of tease, “any New Year’s Resolutions?” They questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Schlatt shook his head in response, giving a slight shrug, “Nah, I don’t do any of that bullshit.” Schlatt spoke. And frankly, it was the truth. Schlatt had nothing to really work on—well, that’s what he believed. Charlie and Ted could’ve write him a book of ideas for a New Year’s Resolution for Schlatt. “You?” Schlatt, nodded to Y/n.
Charlie chimed in, not exactly too keen on being left out of the conversation, “I have one for you, Y/n,” Charlie turned his body towards them, “not to be a huge bitch!” Charlie beamed.
Y/n threw him a sharp glare.
“Actually,” Y/n directed their gaze back to Schlatt, “I would for one would love to develop a normal sleeping schedule.” Y/n admitted.
Schlatt and Charlie hummed in agreement.
Any streamer or content creator needs a normal sleep schedule, they all lack one.
Conversations began to easily flow within the trio, topics shifting from one to another easily. Alcohol rushed through their systems, allowing words and phrases to come out a bit more slurred.
Midnight drew closer, and so did Schlatt’s promise to Charlie.
Schlatt had been seizing the steering wheel so tight he thought his knuckles would pop. Charlie’s words were a ring in his ear that afternoon drive to the party.
“Just do it, man.” Charlie shifted in the leather seats of his buddy’s car, “I can promise you, she won’t shove you away or something. She’ll love it.” Charlie assured the male beside him in the driver’s seat, staring hard at Schlatt’s stern and cold expression. “Maybe she’ll want more…” Charlie dragged out the ‘More’, emphasizing it.
It sounded so… Childish. This whole crush on Y/n was. Schlatt was like a twelve year old girl, giggling and fawning over her newest crush.
Doing ‘More’ with Y/n was a stupid notion Schlatt was aware would never happen. He had to keep one foot in reality. Although, the idea of skin against skin, Y/n pinned underneath him, arching and moaning his name—
One foot in reality, Schlatt.
Midnight inched closer. Five minutes remained on the clock. A crowd gathered nearby the glowing screen of TV, eagerly awaiting the announcement of the ball drop.
Schlatt stood behind the couch, Y/n at his left side.
The two stood in silence, eyes trained on the screen in front of them. Though, Schlatt’s eyes kept drifting over to something more entertaining in his eyes.
Four minutes remained.
Captivating eyes, kissable lips, perfect hair—Schlatt wanted to drown in all of it. Y/n was perfect in his eyes. No one compared. It was something about their features that had Schlatt on a hook.
Three minutes left.
“Y/n,” Schlatt gently spoke, just loud enough to be heard over the loud clatter of chatter, “I have to be honest with you.” Schlatt began, taking a deep breath.
Y/n’s gaze seemed to soften as looked over the male and his features, something more serious across his face. His eyebrows had furrowed, his lips were pursed into a thin line, his nose wrinkled… It was an unfamiliar expression Y/n had saw on Schlatt.
Two minutes on the clock.
Schlatt didn’t know how to form words anymore. Any speech he had contoured up in the past thirteen minutes completely dissolved, leaving him with nothing prepared at all.
His gaze picked up to look behind Y/n. Charlie stood a few yards away, a wide grin across his face with two big thumbs up. It was his silent way of encouraging Schlatt.
One minute.
“I love you,” Schlatt suddenly blurted out. There was no way to say it formally, it was how or never. “I really do love you, and God, sometimes I just want to pin you against a wall and fuck you hard—“ What the fuck was he saying? “—and look, I have no idea how the hell to really tell you. I’m really just rambling at this point…” Schlatt let out a bitter laugh, feeling his face get red.
He stared at Y/n, their face indescribable. Was it shock? Desire? Hatred? Schlatt couldn’t decipher it.
Ten… Nine… Eight…
“Schlatt—“
Seven… Six… Five…
“Y/n, I love you, so Goddamn much it hurts!”
Four… Three… Two…
And suddenly their lips crashed against each other at the same time.
One.
Beer lingered on both of their lips, yet Y/n’s lips had more of a sweetness to it. But it didn’t matter what they tasted like, because they were Y/n’s, and they were against Schlatt’s.
Y/n’s arms wrapped around the back of Schlatt’s neck, standing on their tippy toes to reach his lips comfortably. Schlatt’s hand found itself to their waist, gripping tightly. The other one traveled to the back of their head, deepening the kiss.
And in the chaos of cheers and laughter, “Happy New Year!”’s and clinking of beers, the two stood against one another, flush against the other’s body, lips pressed against one another.
Pulling away at the same time, the two stared at each other for a few moments.
“I love you.” Schlatt’s hair matted to his forehead with sweat, his breathing labored.
“How about we fuck?”
Schlatt’s eyes creased as he smiled, “Do I not even get one back, sweetheart?”
“No, no—Sorry,” Y/n rambled, shaking their head, “I love you, I really do.” Their words were in a whisper.
Beats of silence passed, the two basking in each other’s presence. It was more than Schlatt could ever ask for. Just the two of them, the crowd of the party blurred into the background, the taste of Y/n’s lips still dragging on his on his own pair…
Schlatt broke the silence first, “My place Isn’t too far from here.”
“Then let’s go.”
