Chapter Text
Soulmates. A word Derek came to grow used to. He grew up listening to stories of his mother and father’s lives before they met, how John’s skin would be covered in confusing thoughts while Talia’s was more mundane. Derek’s though? Never ending. If not for the little breaks between thoughts people would have thought he completely inked his arms, but no. It’s just his soulmate's constant thoughts, ranging from song lyrics to random plans. Derek never tried to find his soulmate, leading to him now hanging out with his little sister at a bar.
“C’mon Der- we need to find your soulmate!” Cora whines, grabbing her drink from off the long wooden table and glancing around the crowd.
“What about yours?” He counters, his voice as monotone as ever.
His sister rolls her eyes; “I’ve been looking. Unlike you,” she retorts, shooting her older brother a cold glare. Derek shrugs and takes a sip of his beer, not minding the fact that he couldn’t get drunk. “Do you think it’s a girl or a guy?” Cora asks suddenly, turning her attention towards Derek again.
“Girl.” His voice is deadpan, leaving no room for any type of argument. Cora pouts before turning back towards the many people in the bar.
“You could at least be a little open minded,” she huffs, her eyes scanning everyone before sighing. “Well, I don’t see any ladies that would probably be your type.”
“Exactly. Now, can we pay and just leave, please?” Derek almost pleads as he looks down at his sister who grumbles in annoyance.
“Alright, fine. But we are going to find your soulmate soon,” Cora promises, turning towards the bar and placing down a twenty dollar bill before striding towards the door. Her older brother follows quickly after her. He never thought he would ever meet his soulmate, and he made peace with that. But he didn’t make peace with the fact his soulmate could be completely different than him.

Stiles’ day was long and rough, so right when he got back to his small home he instantly collapsed into bed. Which now led him to tossing and turning, thinking about how his soulmates' thoughts mostly consisted of werewolf related things. Could ‘she’ be a werewolf? It’d make sense. But as Stiles examines his forearm where most of the thoughts appear he sees one that catches his eye.
There’s no way my soulmate could be a boy.
Could ‘she’ be Lesbian? He doesn’t want to intrude on her life if she is. He starts to worry about that, but he eventually starts to drift off to a deep, dreamless sleep. His last thought being a wonder that he couldn’t even finish.
