Work Header

your colors caught my eye and you’re my favorite sight to see

Summary:

“As much as I hate to sound vain,” William sighed, “but I can’t help but remember how I used to look, I used to be beautiful.”

Sherlock looked at Liam in the mirror, and then glanced at him directly. “That you still are, love.” He pressed a kiss to Liam’s face, who giggled and smiled. “Anyone who gazes on you and thinks differently is simply wrong and a fool.”

Work Text:

It was getting late, William stood in front of the mirror, slowly unwrapping the bandages on his eye. He heard the sound of a key click into the door, which then creaked open.

A voice called out to him, “Liam! I’m home!”

William smiled to himself, “there's dinner on the table, although I’m afraid it might’ve gone cold.”

Sherlock laughed, “who gives a damn if the foods’ cold, as long as it's good!”

Another smile appeared on his lips, he had missed Sherlock terribly, the trip had taken longer than expected, what was supposed to be a week turned into a month of waiting.

He heard Sherlock’s footsteps grow louder until he appeared behind William, arms wrapped around his waist.

“Liam.” He murmured, pressing his face against William’s neck. “I missed you.”

A laugh. “I missed you terribly, Sherly.”

He felt Sherlock smile against his skin, “you’re still beautiful you know, even with your scars.” Sherlock whispered, lifting his head to glance at William’s face in the mirror.

“You always seem to know what I’m thinking, love”

“It’s true,” Sherlock reassured, “makes you look tough too.”

William sighed, his left hand reaching to run his fingers in Sherlock’s hair, while his right hand reached to unwrap the bandages again.

Sherlock stood straight, moving to stand beside Liam. He gently pushed William’s hand away, gingerly peeling the remaining bandages off his eye.

William laughed, as Sherlock finished removing the bandages, letting it fall on the floor. “Sherly.”

“Aye.”

“I love you.”

A smile. “I love you too.”
