Chapter Text
Chapter 2: what can I get started for you?
Summary: Where everyone else has heartfelt and sweet tattoos of their soulmate’s first words to them, Erik has the most generic sentence ever; and he’s heard it more times than he can count from people who aren’t his soulmate. He almost thinks he’ll never meet his soulmate until one rainy afternoon day Emma drags him into a coffee shop.
Warnings: No warnings; fluff.
Setting: Modern AU in university.
Chapter 3: passed by.
Summary: Thirteen years prior to Charles and Erik meeting in X-Men: First Class, Charles and Erik crossed paths in Oxford, England, though neither of them realized it at the time until it was too late.
Warnings: Light angst; hopeful ending.
Setting: Canon universe.
Chapter 4: just come home.
Summary: Soulmates will be tattooed with the most important sentence their partner ever said to them, but only after both soulmates uttered their sentences, which could happen days, months, or years apart. Erik and Charles assumed their love for each other was not reciprocated, as their soulmate tattoos had not appeared after months of discovering more about themselves and each other. Unbeknownst to them, fate decided to grant them their soulmate tattoos at a time when neither of them would see the tattoos appear on their skin.
Warnings: Light angst; hopeful ending.
Setting: Canon universe.
Chapter 5: the joking hands of fate.
Summary: Much like everyone else, Erik had a badly worded description of how he’d meet his soulmate tattooed loudly on his forearm; and while the world enjoyed trying to decipher the meaning of their tattoos, Erik didn’t care much for riddles.
Warnings: No warnings; cute and fluffy.
Setting: Modern AU, adults.
Chapter 6: you have a hand print where?
Summary: At age eighteen, Charles received his soulmate markings, black stains on his body where his soulmate will first touch him. The two black hand prints on his body caused anyone who saw them to blush and avert their gazes; and thankfully, Charles’ clothes covered them most of the time.
Warnings: Highly suggestive content; brief sexual scene, which caused this work's rating to change from G to T, though nothing explicit happens; cursing.
Setting: Modern AU, adults.
Chapter 7: write that down.
Summary: Charles always wondered what random trait he would share with his soulmate, but he tried not to think about it often, knowing it would be many years before he met his true pair. After all, anyone in the world could be his person, and the likelihood of meeting his soulmate at university was slim. Right?
Warnings: No warnings; cute and fluffy.
Setting: Modern AU in university.
Chapter 8: together forever.
Summary: Set during the film Logan, after being injured, Charles slips away and finds himself back at the school where he lost control of his telepathic powers and destroyed everyone and everything he ever loved. All except one.
Warnings: Hurt/comfort; slight angst; character already dead; happy ending.
Setting: Film Logan universe.
Chapter 9: touch-starved.
Summary: Charles jumps into the water to save another mutant’s life, knowing his touch will likely harm the man but at least he’ll be alive.
Warnings: No warnings.
Setting: Canon universe.
Chapter 10: do you love me?
Summary: The only connection Erik has with his soulmate is a journal, and he vows to get it back.
Warnings: References to distressing themes related to Erik's past.
Setting: Canon universe.
Chapter 11: second time around.
Summary: Having the last words his soulmate will ever say to him tattooed on his skin didn't provide much help in determining who Erik's new soulmate was – unless his soulmate's tattoo just happened to give a big hint.
Warnings: Mentioned minor character death; mainly fluff; dad!Erik.
Setting: Modern AU, no powers.
Chapter 12: alternate timelines
Summary: Three different timelines branch off after one single moment, and from one small action – or inaction – the course of Erik and Charles' lives change forever.
Warnings: Minor character death; hurt/comfort.
Setting: Modern AU, no powers.
Chapter 13: how to meet a guy in twelve... hook-ups?
Summary: Charles will be damned if he's gonna let fate decide his soulmate's name.
Warnings: Some suggestive T-rated making out.
Setting: Modern AU, no powers.
Chapter 14: while I'm in this body, I want somebody to want.

Warnings: No warnings. t4t one-shot <3
Setting: Modern AU, no powers.
Chapter 15: blue-gray thread.
Summary: Charles chooses to not follow his string of fate until it descends into the ocean towards a mind brighter than the sun.
