"I'm sorry Dean, but I can't heal him." The angel stated
"The hell you mean you can't heal him?! We had a deal! I fight-" Dean began, pointing to his own chest, "You heal!" Dean finished his voice frantic, scared and furious as he pointed towards the angel.
"I'm too weak. The fall, the warding, the injuries, all have made me incapable of healing your brother."
"So- so what?! Are you telling me I can do nothing?! That he'll just die?! After everything?!" Dean yelled enraged
"That's not what I'm saying Dean Winchester. There may be a way, but it is unorthodox. Something you will truly hate."
"Whatever it is, I can handle it! Just tell me how to save him!" Dean demanded.
"He's dying because the energy from the trials is the very antithesis of the power of Hell, which Sam Winchester is fashioned from. In simple terms, the demon blood within him is being destroyed and it is too ingrained in him for him to live without it. You need to give him demon blood. An amount like no other."
Dean Winchester's heart splits in two, but he does.
And later in New Orleans the Boy King makes a deal with the Hybrid to save his daughter from the Hollow, in exchange for his servitude.
