Summary
Even after all these years, the constantly warm and humid Florida air was the one thing George never got used to. He wasn’t used to walking down the streets of Miami during October and feeling sweat trickle down his back or having the skies read clear of clouds. He wasn’t used to the most festive thing about Florida during the holidays, the downtown Christmas lights, instead of snow blanketing the sidewalks and lining the dangerously icy roads.
When he turned 20, his reason changed.
October was the month he met Dream, nine years ago on the fifteenth.
Now, he looks back on their old messages, scrolling through the memories that show how happy they used to be. George was so in love. He’d never felt like that for anyone before Dream. He’d never let his guard down the way he did with Dream, never let himself fall so hard. He thought he would marry Dream and was looking forward to it. They were so close. They almost made it.
