The door
every day, I see a door. In my dreams and in my sleep.
It’s so bright yet I can never reach it.
I always wonder…
What can possibly be behind it?
I see the dream every day.
I close my eyes peacefully, and then I see thousands of doors.
Only one shines so bright.
But…I shall never reach it.
At least that’s what my sister says.
That’s why I need to reach it...
because I do not have a sister
I’ve been stuck here for what feels like an eternity. Almost a year now. I don’t entirely remember how I got here.
All I remember is that one peaceful night I gently shut my eyes.
I open it to see a place, so unnormal. There I see a lady, whom I’ve never seen before.
“Are you okay?” She asked,
“Who are you?” I replied.
“I’m your sister silly. You just lost your memory”
I didn’t believe her. But I played along. She had weird cracked teeth. Almost monster like.
“But…thankfully after a year I got out” I said, as I spoke to my therapist.
“Did you now?” the therapist said, as she removed her mask, I saw those same cracked teeth.
I ran out, finally escaping. I stand breathlessly outside the building. I close my eyes to take another breath...speaking of breaths...
why can I feel several breathes on me?
I open my eyes and yell. Several monsters trying to eat me.
I then wake up.
“It was all a dream,” I say, as I look outside my window, reading a sign on the ground, the ground so full of grass and life. The sign read:
“Mental hospital”
I wonder what that means.
