After overcoming a great many hardships, Damen and Laurent witness the execution of the Regent and the death of Kastor. Laying on the marble floor with a pool of blood surrounding them, the two Kings of their respective countries make an oath to unite their kingdoms and rule alongside each other as equals. But at what cost?
With the fate of the two countries hanging in the balance and their fragile relationship constantly threatened by long-held traditions, political conflict, and jealousy, Damen and Laurent come to the gruelling realization that maintaining peace is much harder than waging war.
