TommyInnit’s powers came from making people laugh. It made him stronger. It gave him energy.
Tommy didn’t let anyone know what his powers were. He was shunned the last time he told someone. His own parents found it unsettling so Tommy fed and joked and fed some more.
He went to train and his powers made him strong. Invulnerable. He was happy. Never mind that it was someone else’s happiness.
He quipped and taunted and when he was partnered with others he ensured they were happy so he could keep fighting.
He needed the joking to never stop. He needed the positive energy to light him up.
When he got captured he didn’t let himself fall down in the dumps. He kept the people around him hopeful. They didn’t understand. They might never understand but Tommy needed this. He needed to keep going and he didn’t care if people yelled, got annoyed or attacked him for it. As long as one person was happy he could keep fighting.
When Tommy was on his last leg, defeated and collapsed his teammates found out. He was deprived of the laughter and joy of others around him. Tubbo figured it out. He asked Tommy, "Laughter. Laughter is what fuels your powers isn't it?"
Tommy met his eye.
Oh.
Everyone realised what Tommy was doing. They needed to correct their mistake.
The villain approached Tommy about to end him and his teammates laughed. They laughed and joked while reminding each other of all the stupid things Tommy had done.
They poked and jested and Tommy inhaled breathing it in. It was real even if it was created on his behalf. He shook and got his elbows under him. He glared at Quakity, the sound of his friend’s laughter fuelling him in the background.
He threw a punch and it knocked the adult clean through the wall. Tommy held his stance.
“You know Quackity it’s funny.” Tommy chuckled. “After all this fighting you’re about to get defeated with a laugh.”
Tommy pinned the villain down and punched him unconscious. Standing over him he exhaled shakily at the close call and moved to set everyone free.
They’d been cheering for him…
Tommy met Tubbo’s eye and opened his arms for a hug.
“Why did you never tell us you idiot?” Tubbo chuckled.
Tommy scoffed. “Pretty lame power innit?”
Tubbo shook his head. “Nah it’s pretty cool.”
Tommy sighed and hugged him tighter. “Maybe now you’ll go to comedy clubs with me.” He said.
“Since it recharges you I guess so.” Tubbo smiled. There was a glint in his eye that said it would be more than that. Tommy was glad he had a friend finally.
