Chapter Text
Amaya, a blue-haired girl with pearlescent gray eyes, was a year older than Izuku. They were in the same grade. They had been friends since birth and never did anything without each other until pre-school when they met Bakugo.
The three were practically inseparable, always at each other's houses, at family get-togethers, and even out on country vacations. And since izuku's family was a bit better off than Amaya and Bakugo's.
They often found themselves paying for everything. As they grew up, Bakugo became more distant from them. It started with him hanging out with them less. He no longer went to their houses and barely allowed them over to his.
Although Amaya was bothered by it, Izuku wasn't. He saw Bakugo just wanting to be with himself since they were always together.
It was wishful thinking because the bullying started once middle school came around. Bakugo had found a new group of friends. At first, it wasn't bad; they were happy that the blonde was expanding his horizons. He was always a little standoffish.
He had a very brash personality and never strayed too far from the Greentte or Bluenette. However, Izuku's view of the blonde changed as time passed.
The blonde and his friends would pick on him about virtually anything whenever Amaya wasn't around. It began with his rambling or clumsiness and became about his "Mommy's Money."
And in some odd turn of events, it became about him being quirkless.
But the thing was, he wasn't even quirkless. As far as he knew, he had inherited his mom's quirk, telekinesis.
However, he never really used it often as he didn't like to show off.
Bakugo used that to his advantage, constantly antagonizing the greenette so that he no longer wanted to be alone when they were around.
Today was different; Bakugo didn't wait till Amaya left. He immediately walked over to them and 'shoved' him down.
'What the hell?'
Izuku looked up and was met with a look that screamed danger. He could feel the others' quirk begin to flare angrily.
"You've got some damn nerve, going around and telling people that I depend on your damn family's money!" The blonde raised his foot to kick him, only to be stopped by Amaya.
"What is wrong with you, Katsuki?!"
"Hah? This useless piece of-"
Izuku, in a blind panic, activated his telekinesis and pushed Bakugo away from them. He hadn't even noticed the audience that was gaining. People cheered for the greenette or told the blonde to get back up.
A few seconds passed before he finally realized what he had done, and before he could even think of apologizing, Katsuki was already up and charging towards them.
Izuku covered his face, bracing himself for impact, but it never came and was replaced by a scream.
Everything fell silent as Izuku uncovered his face. He stared at Katsuki, who had gone pale and was staring at the ground. His eyes trailed downward, and he screamed. Those around them began screaming or scrambling to pull out their phones to call the police, and a few left to find a teacher.
Izuku could hear none as he stared at his best friend's missing arm. His best friend was also staring at the missing appendage, his best friend who was bleeding out in front of them. Then the smell hit him, the burning flesh; he could taste it on his tongue.
The greenette tore his gaze away from her and stared at the blonde, who hadn't said a word but must have felt eyes on him because he snapped when he met the others; he stepped around the bluenette, his body moving on its own, his eyes never once leaving the blonde, taking in the way his face started to twitch with each step he took until they were face to face. Izuku's skin felt weirdly prickly, as if something was gnawing at him.
He allowed the feeling to overtake him, opening a window to feel something warm. He grasped it delicately, staring the blonde in the eye, and 'pulled.' Yanking the quirk as hard as he could, he tore it from the blonde. Watching as he crumbled to the floor, panting and feeling all around his chest, the sudden and painful emptiness sent him into a panic.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?" The blonde screamed.
He held his hand out as if he was about to let out an explosion. When nothing happened, his eyes widened in shock, fear, anger..? Izuku couldn't tell, nor did he care. He held out his hand and activated the explosion quirk. A few things happened at once. Those left in the crowd were yelling stuff like 'villain,' 'thief' and 'monster.' The police had finally arrived, and so had the teachers. People were yelling at each other. Katsuki lunged for him, and Ayama grabbed him with an arm no longer missing and dragged him away. Pushing through everybody to get a safe distance away was hard since they were being practically chased.
They managed to lose everyone in a random alley, so Amaya pushed Izuku against a wall and began questioning him.
"What the hell was that Izuku? Are you okay?"
"Why are you asking me if I'm okay if you got your arm blown off!"
"That doesn't matter right now! Look, it grew back. Did you forget my quirk?"
Izuku looked away from her; he couldn't bear to look her in the eyes,
"I… He hurt you! He could've killed you, Amaya! Your arm may have grown back now, but what would happen if it didn't or if he hit your head instead? What would happen then?" He was frantic. Katsuki had never been this violent before.
"And his quirk, why do you have his quirk? It's no coincidence that he suddenly can't use it, but you can; what did you do?" Her voice had no anger or judgment, just pure, genuine concern and what seemed like awe, but he couldn't hear it, and it felt like he was drowning. Everything was too loud, and he couldn't breathe. His throat was betraying him. He had never used All for One before but knew it was there and could always feel it. However, in the moment, he reached for something that could stop what he thought was a threat.
He was hyperventilating, and before he could fall further, a pair of arms wrapped around him. He tried to struggle against them, but they held firm, grounding him until he could calm down enough to hear her.
"Alright, now… How did you get Bakugou's quirk?" She pulled away only enough to look at his face and didn't let go. Izuku stared at her only for a moment before answering.
"I'm not sure; it's never happened before." Amaya nodded; she wasn't upset and understood he didn't know.
"Are you able to give it back?"
"I can try…"
"Good cause a firecracker is on its way here." And she was right; he could hear the angry sailor's mouth from a mile away, but instinctively, he curled into himself. "You damn idiot! Please give me my quirk back. I know you took it! You fucking thief!" Amaya kept a distance between the two.
"Stop being so loud!" she hissed at the blonde. Turning her gaze to him, she eyed him wearily. "He doesn't even know how he did it in the first place. Also, how did you get here so fast?" Katsuki glared at the pair and huffed.
"Did you assholes think gettin' away from me would be that easy, and he better figure it out, or I'll tell the police that he's a quirk-stealing villain." He was bluffing, and the bluenette could see right through it. The school already sees him as such, and he can only imagine what the students and teachers are telling the police.
"Yeah, okay… Izuku, come on. I'm taking you home." Amaya grabbed the boy's arm and started dragging him away. The blonde's eyes twitched as he followed behind them, stomping. He wasn't bluffing, but logically, if there was a chance that he could get his quirk back, telling the police wasn't a brilliant idea because then Izuku would be labeled a criminal or villain, and he'd be arrested.
Amaya could hear pieces of what the blonde had been grumbling like, 'Villain' 'police,' 'useless,' 'hero complex,' 'quirks,' and what ticked her 'Deku.' It was a nickname that Katsuki had come up with when they were younger.
Said blonde had trouble saying Izuku's name, and on top of that, the greenette had been a late bloomer, so when everyone thought he was quirky, the blonde correlated that with useless, no matter what anyone told him. Even now, he still calls the other Deku, and Amaya is the only person who can correct him.
Eventually, they reached Izuku's house. It was in the nicer part of Mustaf, and despite being exceptionally well off, it wasn't eye-catching. The pale yellow house had a white picket fence and a small stone path leading to the door, surrounded by roses because Inko wanted the appearance to feel welcoming.
The kids didn't notice the two cars in the driveway, as they may have been at the door. Izuku quietly pulled out his key but found the door was already unlocked. 'Odd,' he thought, but he didn't question it further. He just walked inside, taking off his toes and placing them on the shoe rack, the other two doing the same. He could hear voices in the living room—one he knew was his mom's for sure, and two others he was unsure about.
He followed them face to face with a large man's back. He had white hair and a suit; standing next to him was a boy with matching white hair, black joggers, a black tee shirt, and the same red shoes Izuku had. His heart rate picked up slightly, and Amaya and Katsuki seemed to both be eyeing the two men.
Inko was the first to notice the three openly and giggled.
"Inko? What's got you so giddy all of the oof-." The man, Hisashi, tried to feign ignorance, but that quickly shut down as he was tackled and knocked over by three screaming teenagers. He couldn't help the laughter bubbling from his chest as the teens scrambled back to their feet. There was a cough, and what Hisashi could immediately see was regret. Sitting up, he saw three heads snapping toward his eldest son, Tomura, at breakneck speeds.
"Uh…" Was all that he could get out before sprinting for the door with three screaming teens hot on his tail. If he snorted at the frightened shriek that resulted, then that's his secret to tell, and well, maybe Inko, who hadn't stopped giggling since the kids got home.
"DAD HELP ME I'M BEING ATTACKED BY LITTLE MONSTERS!"

Once everyone had calmed down, namely Amaya and Katsuki, Izuku was still practically vibrating from where he sat on his dad's lap, much to his mother's chagrin. He had refused to sit anywhere else, soaking in as much of his father as possible. Katsuki was glaring daggers at Izuku, who wasn't considering it.
"Bakugou, is there an issue?" Hisashi asked. Of course, he already knew. He could feel the boy's quirks buzzing within his side, and as carefully as he could, he pulled the quirk away. After removing it from his arsenal, his brows furrowed. He could still feel the quirk within his son, so he double-checked to ensure he had pulled it away. He did, so that'll be something he checks out later, but for now, he transferred the quirk back to Katsuki.
"Mr. Midoriya…" Amaya looked tense, and Izuku quickly picked up on this and focused his gaze on her. "Hypothetically… um… is it possible to take someone's quirk?" Inko seemed to be more focused on the conversation. Izuku went stiff, and Katsuki's eyebrow twitched; he was about to explode, and everyone could feel it.
"Deku stole my fucking quirk!" Katsuki jumped up, pointing an accusing finger at the other. Amaya tried to pull him back down, but Izuku looked like he may just have flooded the house. Hisashi couldn't have that, so he gently pushed Izuku's head into his neck and patted his back.
"Katsuki, dear, what makes you think Izuku stole your quirk? Have you ever tried to use it?" Inko, in all her sweet glory, asked, rigidizing the blonde and making the tips of his ears turn red. He flexed his fingers and activated his quirk. His face burned. "I'm sorry, Auntie."
Izuku had calmed down and was now watching the blonde; he was confused because he could still feel his quirk popping in his chest.
"It seems like you've got your quirk figured out," Tomura said lightly, making nearly everyone gasp in surprise. Katsuki clicked his tongue, but Amaya finally sighed in relief. Izuku wiggled off his dad's lap and settled onto his brother's, and despite his brother's half-hearted protests, he didn't push him away.
"Alright! Now that that's settled, who's hungry?" Inko asked as she stood up. Multiple hands raised, and she giggled. No one could resist her cooking.
Hisashi made eye contact with Katsuki and hopped up, almost running to the kitchen. Katuski yelled hot on his tail while everyone else followed suit, causing Inko's giggles to intensify.
