"I'm hungry!" the little boy cries. His older sister, Saebyeok looks at him. "me too." She says as her stomach growls. She stands up, looking around in the dark alley hoping to find someone or something. "Stay here Cheol, I'll come back soon." she says as she starts walking.
She's walking around when she sees a girl standing around with nothing but a drawstring bag on her back. She seems to appear homeless as well. Wouldn't hurt to talk to her. Before Saebyeok could get closer the mysterious girl looks at her makes her way towards her. "Hey, do you have any spare change?" the stranger asks. "No I don't" Saebyeok swiftly responds with. "Shit.." the stranger whispers. "You can stay with me" Saebyeok says while looking at the stranger, Her eyes widening. "Follow me" She says as she leads the way.
"Saebyeok!" her brother shouts at her return. Then he suddenly looks at the new girl. "Who's that?" He asks. "I'm Jiyeong!" the girl introduces herself as she takes a seat on the concrete. "No family name?" Saebyeok asks. Jiyeong shakes her head. Saebyeok sits down next to Jiyeong. "So. What was with the wandering?" Saebyeok asks. Jiyeong looks at her for a few seconds before opening her mouth. "I was just released from prison." she says. Saebyeok thinks for a second. "What were you in there for?" She asks. Jiyeong sighs before deciding she would tell her. "The murder of my father."
Saebyeok looks at her in shock. She takes a deep breath and addresses it. "You murdered your own father?" she asks. "It was more of self defense." jiyeong tells her. She continues explaining, "I came back from school one day and found my mom lying dead on the floor, next to her was my dad who was holding a knife. Next thing I know I'm holding the knife and he had joined my mom." there was a moment of silence before jiyeong broke it. "What about you?" she asks. Saebyeok hesitates before answering but does. "I escaped from the North. My dad died crossing the water and my mom hid in china but she was caught and sent back."
jiyeong taps her foot. "Im glad you and your brother got out, do you have any plans to get your mom out?" she says fidgeting with the bag straps. "Yeah. It will take a while and a lot of money." Saebyeok lets out a big sigh. "What like 456 billion won?" she chuckles. "Saebyeok is it? I think you and me will get along just nicely."
