“Already ahead of ya, Shads!” Without warning Sonic walked forward into Shadow's personal space, wrapping an arm around the hybrid's waist and tugging him closer. His other arm reached out, headless of the sharp black and red quills that threatened to rip his hand apart, Sonic buried his hand in those quills and quickly found what he was looking for. “This was the last one I needed, so,” Sonic dragged out the last word, letting the green gem float away as the other emeralds appeared out of his quills one by one, circling the two hedgehogs. “How about we get started already?”
