Chapter Text

Thousands of miles beneath Racoon City, a Latina woman in all black military armor had various weapons strapped to her sides and to her body as she walked cautiously through the underground tunnels and sewers that ran throughout the entire city. Using the flashlight at the end of her pistol that she held up in front of her, she made her way through the network of tunnels and sewers; having already killed a hundred undead ass holes who'd tried to bite her or attack her from every direction.

It didn't help to be too careful though, she thought as she pulled out a sticky bomb just as she heard the moaning and groaning of multiple figures up ahead, the shuffling of their feet or shoes or boots on the ground. She pulled the pin out and threw it at one of the tunnel openings. It stuck to the brick wall and then there was a loud explosion. The sounds of many bodies being blown up as well as the wall too.

Logically, she should be dead but after she had been bitten multiple times by the undead and got shot by Matt in the train, Umbrella had found her body on the floor of it and they revived her. They cloned her too, those fuckers. She managed to survive this long without coming across anyone else that had once been a part of her team who all got killed, staying out of large cities and sticking strictly to the highway.

She continued on through the tunnel until she arrived at a manhole in the tunnel. Putting her gun away, she grabbed onto the first ring of the metal ladder and started to climb it. Meanwhile her mind travelled back to how she ended up here. She also wondered what had become of Matt, Kaplan, and Alice.

Racoon City; 04:00 hundred hours ago. She was lying on the hard, cold floor as the train continued to follow the tracks, a huge hole in the bottom of it and the top from where the lickers had ripped open. The wind from the train speed hit her face, the blood from the bullet in her skull black and dried up. The bite marks she had received on the left side of her neck, two on her right hand, and her right forearm were also black and dried. Her body was cold to the touch.

Her eyes were staring lifelessly at the gaping holes in the train where the lickers had attacked them; cutting into Matt's arm and the tongue from the second one was still stuck there upon the floor, the long metal pole sticking out of it from Alice when she had used it to trap the beast before it fell through the opening at the bottom of the train, landing on the tracks and disappearing from sight.

Suddenly, the train came to a screeching halt, her lifeless body jerking with the movement of the train. Footsteps came onto the train and lifted her body up off the floor, carrying her out of the train and off to somewhere else.  Before that though, before she had finally turned, she had been so weak; barely able to keep her eyes open, vomiting and constantly feeling queasy as her body still tried to fight against it, even though she had already known it was no use.

When she awoke many hours later inside an all-white room with only her tanned body covered up with a white sheet that did little to hide her toned figure, she was rather pissed off that they had done this to her. She took no time in removing all of the IV's that the people who worked with Umbrella had put into her body, ignoring the pain that came with it. Once she had found extra clothes; black pants, a black shirt, black combat boots that stopped at her ankles, and a military vest to keep herself protected, she then found more ammo in another larger room filled with different weapons. She took what she could with her as she was leaving.

After leaving the HIVE and its facility, she ended up outside in the streets of Racoon City. Cars were destroyed and broken into, papers from other buildings had been littered all over the sidewalks and on the roads. She didn't stand there long though. Immediately she began searching for a good enough vehicle that she could start up and then leave this hell-hole of a place. In her search, she found a Humvee that had guns attached to the top of it. She jogged over to it and got inside, checking it thoroughly for any surprising undead passengers. To her relief, she didn't find any.

Closing the door of the driver's seat, she started up the Humvee and drove away from the city; kind of hoping to find anyone who was still alive, if there were any. Throughout her search, she still didn't find anyone who had been in her team, but eventually years later she heard over the radio com an all too familiar voice. One that haunted her in the night when she couldn't sleep on top of the damned nightmares she's been having lately.

"If you are out there, we will help you. There is hope.", the raspy voice was saying on the radio station before it went silent again. It wasn't a surprise to Rain that Alice was alive. She blinked and continued on driving.

Unknown to her though, a large guy covered in bloodied clothes with a sack over his head wielding a massive two-handed axe came out into the road and caused her to slam into him head-on. The Humvee flipped upon impact, and she crashed onto the ground. For a few minutes she lay there in the vehicle as it lay on its hood, glass shattered from the windshield being broken. She came too when she noticed that the large undead guy swung his axe in a downward arc towards her, making her think fast and crawl out from inside the overturned Humvee.

She just barely made it when his axe came down on the Humvee, slicing through the metal like nothing. Grabbing her weapons quickly, she used her RPG and aimed at the guy, firing it and watching as it struck him, blowing him up into a bunch of pieces. She then grabbed the other weapons after leaving the RPG on the pavement and headed away from the area on foot, finding a manhole and using the tunnels as a way to avoid the zombies who were still in the city.

Rain blinked again and continued to climb up the ladder, pushing the manhole open and carefully getting out of it. She didn't know how long she was down there. Weeks, months, years maybe.  It had been hard to tell when she was killing zombies who had managed to get down there to try and kill her. She walked away from the manhole and climbed up a ladder to get on top of a building that's one of the few still standing.

Using her scope, she checked the road she had come to and then looked around as she saw how much destruction that Umbrella had caused. Once again, Racoon City had been changed; the buildings had been reduced to nothing but rubble all around the area where the massive crater was at that she somehow knew was caused by Umbrella. Movement on the far side of the crater got her attention and she turned the scope towards it, watching as a woman rode on a motorcycle back into the city, someone she's not seen in a very long time.  Even from here across the massive crater, she could make it out the model of the bike. It was a BMX S 1000 XR. Given that Umbrella had fucked with her without her knowledge, she had far better eyesight as well as other heightened senses and reflexes on top of accelerated healing. However, there was a downside to all of the ungraded abilities she was injected with. Because of being brought back by the Umbrella scientists that are still alive, the ones that Alice didn't kill because she was set on killing Albert Wesker, she woke up with a strong compulsive need to drink and consume blood in order to survive.

Putting her pistol back into the holster on her hip, she climbed back down the ladder and searched for a vehicle that was running. She finally found one; an Oshkosh M-ATV still had the keys inside the ignition.

After driving halfway around the outer rim of the massive crater, she came to a stop when she noticed a small group of survivors who appeared to have stopped on the side of the road. Quietly, she got out of the Oshkosh M-ATV and silently moved to a broken part of what used to be a tower. Crouching down behind the ruined section of the tower and using her enhanced abilities given to her by Umbrella, she listened as they spoke to one another.

"Is...is Alice going to be alright?", a young woman with her dark brown hair pulled back into a ponytail wearing a military jacket, baggy jeans, and had a pistol strapped to her right leg was asking as she stared up at a tall black man who was bald with a goatee wearing a black tank top and jeans.
