Soundtrack - What’s This About (La La La La) - Kate Bollinger
Leo was lying comfortably on his white and gray cat tree. It was something he often did, and something that he was content with doing for an entire day. He lived with another cat named Simon, a smaller, younger cat with dark fur not unlike Leo’s. He was more active than Leo, but despite their differences in personality, they both got along fairly well.
Today, Leo wanted a break from playing. That’s why he was perched up high in his cat tree, no doubt. One of his ears flicked back slightly as he heard running rapidly heading towards the room he was in. He opened his eyes slightly to see Simon come sprinting into the room and stop to play with a small mouse toy. Well, the toy was small to Leo, but was considerably larger compared to Simon. Leo closed his eyes once again, and drowned out the noise Simon was making.
After a while, Simon got tired, and decided he wanted to take a nap. What better place to nap, but with Leo? He often napped with, and sometimes on top of, him. Leo never seemed to mind, and sometimes would seem even more comfortable with him. Simon jumped from platform to platform, getting higher and higher with each jump until he reached the big bed at the top. The sudden movement slightly startled Leo, but after seeing who it was, he quickly calmed down.
Leo gave a slow blink to Simon, as if to tell him it was okay if he slept there with him. So, Simon got comfortable. He started to make soft biscuits on Leo’s side, and plopped down on top of him, both purring lightly. They spent the rest of the day cuddled up next to each other, occasionally waking up to clean the other, or to change positions.
Content with where they were and who they were with, slowly, they drifted off into deep slumber.
