Villain and violent, infant and innocent

Summary:

What if; stone and Ivo acquired Shadow like Tom and Maddie did?

And what if stone is basically a father to shadow? Here’s how I think it could go!

Notes:

This work is going to be different chapters, just cuz I adore their relationship and I want more of them.

Shadow and Sonic’s relationship is gonna be a background one but it’s still gonna be a big part

Chapter 1: Flees

Chapter Text

“Shadow the Hedgehog you get back here right now!” A scream could be heard from across the lab, jolting Robotnik from his work and in turn making him realize that a flash of red light just passed by him. Clearly something was amiss.

Without missing a single beat, Stone ran into the lab and began searching for the hedgehog, clearly upset and frustrated.
“Where is he.” He stood with his arms crossed.

“How am I supposed to know? He’s supposed to be with you when I’m working agent.” Ivo didn’t like the accusatory tone in stones words.

Sadly the argument didn’t make longer than a few seconds before another flash of red passed, causing stone to quickly break off into a sprint toward the runway rodent.

An hour had gone by without a single word before robotnik decided to head up into the “house” part of the lab bunker, curious about what caused the sudden burst of red.

Turns out he didn’t need to go far as a few steps up the stairs and he could hear his husband’s voice mumbling and the water running in the tub.

As he entered the bathroom it became apparent to him of what was going on.

Stone was bathing Shadow, for some odd reason. Not noticing his presence and was ranting about how shadow can’t run away from him and how bad this situation is.

“And you! I can’t believe that I didn’t realize that you were scratching yourself to the bone! I can’t believe that with all the technology we have, the one thing you still manages to get flees! I bet it was that red hedgehog that gave you it!”

“Do you mean knuckles? He’s an Echidna..” shadow’s voice was low and it was obvious that he’s embarrassed by his own situation currently. He’s never had flees before so he didn’t want to do anything wrong.

“It doesn’t matter what he is! For the next week you’re not hanging out with sonic and his squad! I can’t risk you bringing in flees.” He stopped his scrubbing, picking up a cup of bath water and gently pouring it down shadow’s head, blocking his face with his hand.

Ivo watched as it felt so domestic, like a father bathing his son, felt a small ping of jealousy that he quickly squashed. Then clearing his throat.

“What’s this about hanging out with sonic?”

Chapter 2: Dads ex boss rekindled

Summary:

Shadow had been playing a solo player video game when a rough knock was coming from outside his apartment door.

Notes:

Shadow can be around the same age sonic is in the first movie? Or second idk

Chapter Text

Shadow had been playing a solo player video game when a rough knock was coming from outside his apartment door. He tried to ignore it due to stone telling him he couldn’t answer anything while he was away. But it seems like the assailant was not willing to back down.

It had gone on for about 3 minutes before shadow got so annoyed he just went to open the door. Cracking it open he was about to tell the man to go away when he was shoved down by the wooden door swinging open.

“Stone! I cannot believe I’m admitting this but I need you to come back as my…” the man’s words were loud and clear until his eyes landed on the hedgehog who was startled on the ground.

It was an awkward silence before the man became irrationally unhinged, demanding to know what shadow did to his blue? Fur. And why his eyes were red, or how he now has neater quills.

Shadow on the other hand was bewildered by the sudden attack on his character and quickly became uneasy and frightened, he was close to punching the man if it wasn’t for stone coming in and yelling at the man to get away.

“Doctor! He’s not sonic, back off!” The grocery bags were quickly placed on the floor and stone rushed towards his pseudo son, checking for any signs of trouble and then pulling him into his chest.

 

“What do you mean he’s not sonic! Are you saying that you just so happen to find another mystery hedgehog alien? I find that unbelievable Stone!” The doctor(?) was very adamant about shadow being someone he was not. It made him mad that this rando had the audacity to come into their home, attack his appearance and make accusations against his father.

“Ivo, I can assure you that this isn’t him. This is shadow, I found him after you let me go and took him in, he’s much different than that blue one.” Stone remains adamant about his own words. Refusing to back down and now, shadows a bit embarrassed by admitting this but he was then lifted up and onto stones hip like a small child, stone slowly running his hand down his quills fluff. Shadow didn’t realize his heart rate was picking up quickly.

He managed to toon out the argument that quickly became a small disagreement, falling asleep on stone’s shoulder, tucking his face into the man’s neck.

Later he was told that the man who came by was stones old boss and maybe lover? Shadow couldn’t tell, but now he demanding stone get back to working with him, so now he is sitting in the car that packed up with his life and heading to a new place to call home.

The doctor’s name felt too familiar, Robotnik.

Chapter 3: Car seat

Summary:

“carseat arc for shadow?? no way he is big enuf to sit unaccompanied 🤔”

This can be seen as a part 2 of the last chapter or a complete different chapter

Ngl I forgot what car seats look like and I didn’t wanna look it up bc I knew I was gonna lose motivation if I got distracted 💀

Chapter Text

Stone had ordered something a little bit different than the average order. To be fair! Stone told himself that he was allowed to by things for the young hedgehog, well, he said that so he could validate random perches and other things.

He was currently installing it into the back seat of his car, right in the middle, he figured that he didn’t need to turn it around because shadow is a bit bigger than a toddler but smaller than an average child. So he decided that was the best placement for now.

Now, logically he’s aware that shadow will have questions and certainly will feel a way about it, but he feels it’s a safety precaution that he doesn’t want to skip. And he’s also aware that shadow wants to mainly be on the motorcycle so much, but stone has an irrational fear that he’s fall off or something of the nature.

 

He’s finished by the time Shadow comes to the car, bag packed with toys, a game boy, and maybe an iPad. Sue Stone for spoiling the kid, he grew up with immigrant parents who couldn’t afford much, so he wants his son to find comfort and stability. Sadly the doctor criticizes it every chance he gets.

“What’s that?” Shadow asks confused by the strange object in the car. He wasn’t given an answer but instead was picked up and put into the seat, quickly being buckled down.

“Car seat, to keep you safe.”

Shadow felt a surge of discomfort and tried to pull at the seat belt but it just tightened up and he couldn’t move, causing a slight panic in his chest.

“I don’t like it, can I please get out? Please?” He looked around and felt overwhelmed.

“I’m sorry bub, how about we get you hot chocolate and then head to the doctor?”
Stone sat in the driver seat, adjusting his mirrors and flashed shadow a smile, hoping that the compromise would work.

Thankfully it did because Shadow calmed down and was able to grab his bag full of items. Semi excited for hot chocolate.

Also all my non-oomfs, what do yall hc stone as cuz he doesn’t have a cannon race but I like to think he’s the actors race. (Lebanese Canadian)
also no clue Lee played in a fan made Pokémon movie.
