Lonely

Summary:

This is my Epic Secret Santa gift for Alixanderia! (I'm very sorry it's so late, I had a hectic holiday season. Still, I hope you enjoy it!)

How Telemachus knew he wasn't alone anymore.

Work Text:

Telemachus had gotten used to feeling lonely.

His mother always did her best to take care of him and he never doubted how much she loved him, and his dog Argos was his most constant companion, often at his heels. Still, with his father missing after the end of the Trojan war, it always felt like there was a part of his family missing. Adding onto that, all the men trying to woo his mom never tried to hide their animosity towards him. He’d always wanted that feeling to change, but he had no idea exactly how it could.

Then, something that seemed impossible happened.

The goddess Athena took him under her wing, and helped him grow stronger. Her looks of pride when he mastered a new technique always filled him with joy. And, his father finally came back home. True, their first meeting after twenty years was unorthodox, but both Telemachus and his father were so happy that Odysseus was back home, neither of them cared. His father's clothes were stained with blood, but he embraced his son, and it was everything that Telemachus had dreamed of and more. He was finally home.

Telemachus had gotten used to feeling lonely.

Now, he knew he'd never feel that way again.
