"Hyung did you get the new batch out of the fridge?"
Beomgyu hurried back to the front of their little bakery, ready to help the next customer with a sweet smile plastered on his lips.
"On it!" Soobin jogged past him, various noises accommodating the steps that echoed in the back.
As hours passed customers came and went, tipping them and leaving lovely reviews online. Giving Soobin a peace of mind and Beomgyu a greater grin than before.
"Okay, can you close up? I have to get these to the shelter." Beomgyu nodded and grabbed a few bags full of baked goods, they always gave them away when those didn't get sold in two days, placing the bags in the trunk.
A quick hug and Soobin drove down the road, leaving beomgyu to close up.
As he sweeped the floor at the back the small bell rang twice, scaring Beomgyu to his core. He should've definitely locked the front door first before clearing the back, this realisation hit a little too late.
His voice came out shaky as he called out,
"Uhm we're closed!"
Hands gripped the broom tightly as he walked towards the front, heart racing and mind thanking his parents and Soobin for the wonderful life he led.
Beomgyu tilted his head and peeked through the dutch door. Eyes widening when he saw who the intruder is.
He pushes the bottom half open and hurried through, "Yeonjun? as in the Choi Yeonjun??"
Yeonjun stiffened awkwardly, "Please tell me you're not a crazy fan."
Beomgyu frowned a little and looked at the idol, cap readjusted to cover his eyes better and a mouthmask that didn't hide much of his beautiful features.
Beomgyu's eyes widened, "Crazy? Wait did someone follow you?" He walked past Yeonjun and locked the door, seeing to closed sign unturned, dammit he should've turned that around ages ago.
He quickly did so and closed the blinds.
"Are you okay?"
Shoulders relaxed and hands moved to take his hat off and fix his dishevelled hair, "better now, thanks uh," The younger reached for the hat and took it from Yeonjun, "Beomgyu!"
Yeonjun smiled, "Beomgyu."
"Uhm you can sit here!"
Thankfully he had wiped the tables down.
"So uh what brings you here?"
Beomgyu shuffled his foot around awkwardly, pretending as if this wasn't something that happened in a fanfiction he read a week prior, which Soobin had laughed at him for believing Beomgyu to be delusion.
Well tough luck, Soobin!
A sigh escaped the other, "Some fans thought it'd be fun to let the meet and greet continue after it was done and started following me."
Well, respectfully this was not part of the story and Soobin could vouch for that.
Yeonjun looked into his eyes, "Saw the lights on and ran in here."
"Smart decision," While Beomgyu spoke he went over to the display cases, "Usually Soobin locks up early but I'm here on Wednesday's and weekends to close."
Going behind the counter he grabbed two water bottles and a slice of cake along with a cupcake.
"Here have this. On the house!"
Yeonjun's eyes sparkled as he saw what was placed infront of him. "Wah you really do like food!"
Beomgyu blushed lightly by the way the other grinned and the overly dramatic thank you's that were given to him.
As the other ate Beomgyu reached behind himself and pulled with delicate fingers the strings holding his apron stuck in place, loosening when the bow undoes itself. His sweater draped over his upper body felt comfortable again, no more itchiness on his stomach or small shivers down his spine.
He hung it next to Soobin's apron, checking the front pockets for anything to find them perfectly empty.
His hair caught in a ponytail finally gets undone and his locks fall gently, brushing against his nape and landing just above his shoulders.
Finally done he turned around only to be caught in Yeonjun's tense stare.
"Uhm you still hungry?" His gaze shifted around the room, intimidated by the idol sitting under the dim light. "There's this food place I order from that still delivers? We could order something you want, if you want that of course!" Beomgyu spewed out sentence after sentence feeling the burning sensation of sharp fox eyes on him.
Before he could say more and embarrass himself further Yeonjun laughs.
"Oh uh if you don't want to then,"
"No, no! It's not that. You're so cute."
Clearing his throat he continued,
"Isn't it weird to have me here? I'm really sorry for intruding and making you stay so late."
"Well it's nine o'clock and I don't mind walking under the stars!"
He went and sat infront of the other, "I guess it is a little weird, but hey I don't mind helping anyone out!"
Beomgyu died a little on the inside,
Does he want to be locked up here forever??
He doesn't know how to act like those main characters with their shit together, there's a hot man infront of him that just called him cute, he's only so strong.
"Takeout is fine for me Beomgyu."
Music played in the background and a coughing fit flamed Beomgyu's throat while Yeonjun patted his back in concern.
"Yah! Don't die, I told you it was spicy!!"
Beomgyu whined, feeling like a fool, a burnt fool. "I knowww."
"Then why'd you eat it??"
Yeonjun gave him his water, "Because you seemed to enjoy it!"
"Well next time we'll just get the none spicy one? Okay?"
Beomgyu halted his movement, "Next time?" His heart jumped up and down in anticipation.
Yeonjun flushed red, well Beomgyu's never seen that happen before.
"Oh uhm, well you're like very nice and pretty! And I'd like to get to know you better."
"Yeonjun, are you asking me on a date?" Awestruck with him he reached his hands out to grip the other's. "Only if you accept, because if you don't then I never asked anything and I don't know what you're talking about."
Beomgyu felt his cheeks warming up, heat reaching up to his ears.
"I wouldn't mind going on a cute date with a cute guy," Exasperating his words Beomgyu squeezed their hands.
"But next time I pay!"
"Not if I book an expensive restaurant."
Beomgyu huffed, "Pulling the rich card is so stupid, I own this bakery! I can pay for things!"
"Now eat your cheap takeout."
Beomgyu grumbled frowning as he took a bite. Yeonjun chuckled, fondness creasing over his face.
"Anything for you~!"
